@HDFEST Thanks! It'll soon be available on DVD along with all the raw footage for people to mash-up! Keep in touch on the FB (see URL in description field above) /L
if you like this film become a fan on facebook. Tell your friends about it. Help to create a big buzz about it. He has gotten so much better since he made this one, and the world needs an alternative to the linear hollywood films and series. Like abstract paintings and electronic music films can become something more.
-this will be out on dvd soon, in a remastered HD version, to enjoy on your big screen.
-but if you want to see more surrealism by this director, let him know!
I left some comments on this video before, and here I am again. I question, how did you pull off some of the special effects? Such as the large eye ball crashing through the wall. It just looks so magnificant!
umm holy shittt!!! that was the best fucked up shit i seen in a long time that's what im talking about! screw the new horror movies out these days! but you'll be glad to know that i did understand the point of this film!
Thanks! Hopefully this will not sound rude, but I would much more like to hear what you believe this movie is about. I made the film, shipped it out into the world, to you, the audience. It doesn't come with a manual. The "I" in the title just as much refers to "you" in the sense "you" experience and interpret. That for me, is what good movies are about. If the movie cannot stand on it's own feet - I have failed!
An amazing film. well-done. I kinda understood it from the start though, especially because of the title: 'The Mind's I.' There's really one explanation for that: the 'I' that is behind all conscious thought and the observer of them. It is my guess that the couple(?) in the beginning were the parents residing in the unconscious "room" of the boy, and that the sexual urges either were a manifestation of Oedipidal Complex or a realization that sex procreates. I've been waiting to see the like.
Hey its me again. Just wondering this time, how did you get some of your extraordinary visuals? Suc as the huge eye popping through the wall.. how was that made? I'd love to do special effects like that that don't involve any CG work.
I used an acrylic top from a Martin MAC Dome. The production designer turned it into an eye with paint and other stuff. Then we cut a hole in a set piece and covered it with wallpaper. From there it was all luck - we got the take in one shot thanks to all the skilled people on set!
Oh my.. WOW. I loved this from beginning to end. Your (you made the film right?) imagination is amazing and one of a kind.. and you brilliantly put those thoughts in your head on film. I love the colors, lighting and the actions. The imagary is simply amazing.. I love the eye that comes through the wall.. totally something I would do. I love how none of it makes any really sense too.. Man, if I knew you, we would so get along. You have the exact same taste in filmmaking as I do.. Awesome!
fuck yeah. I don't really like silent films. and 16 minutes worth. Never expected to make it through. Great images and creative lighting and set design. I hope this person gets to make more films. Sweet beaver as well.
This film is stunning! We liked your style.

this is so like David Lynch. Except better haha Lynch can sometimes get boring during his abstract sequences whereas you hold our attention.

I believe it's about abortion. The girl got impregnated/raped and the guy, and he made her get an abortion against her will and it's haunting him

Thanks a lot for your comment, krneel128. It's very inspirering as a filmmaker to get this kind of response on my work.

This movie is awesome. I love surrealist movies and I believe there should be more surrealism in movies today. Reality just gets boring.
