Thanks for helping medicare STOP payments to private Doctors Gregoire!
Now I have to go to ER to get the care I need and pay hundreds of dollars in co-payments for a single visit that a simple vist to my private Dr did with a small co-payment of $10 - $20.
Hope your having a good time getting drunk on that LEAR JET BITCH!
@wbm2900 HARDLY! If she's so right, why is Washington State so far in the financial TOILET? 1 and a half terms with this bimbo, and 2 terms with another democrat...Gary Locke...Can't blame Republicans here.
Oh and McKenna is NOT Gregoire's personal attorney.
No one Knows how bad this Healthcare bill. And This Huge Carbon tax bill is..
You want our state to be signed over to the U.N.? She just signed our soverenty away to another government.. If all these states do this. The U.N. Marches in and takes over our country. and NEW WORLD ORDER TYRANNY will begin.
Screw you, Gregoire. Your insatiable appetite for the public's money is on display here in full force. You don't represent hard working, tax paying Washingtonians, you represent everyone with their hand out. Screw you, lady. And bless you, McKenna......stick with it. Repeal Obamacare when we throw many of the Democrat bums out this November!
What? danbrett1 are you mad? What state Governor doesn't represent their particular state? No, I don't think she's the doofus. After reading your comment, guess who's the real dufus? That'd be you danbrett1
I don't think she understands the role of Attorney General. Its not the role of the Attorney General to interpret whats best for the state of Washington. Its the role of the attorney general to make sure the articles within the Washington Constitution are held up by the Washington Legislature and Federal Government. Then represent Washington in any such court.
Last time I checked there isn't a law that says unless the outcome is better for some people.
Even while operating under record deficits she, and democrats, are creating the largest budget in state history. She's the kind of governor who's operating hand in hand with the criminals in Washington DC.
Clearly this woman has no intention of ever protecting our state, or obeying her oath.
You don't see anything wrong with forcing tax payers to fund the iraq war, and yet you see something wrong with taking care of our sick and the poor?
You blame the poor and sick because they can't afford healthcare since the Republican Party & Bush Admin. forced them and the rest of Americans pay lots of taxes to fund the Iraq War, to bailout banks & insurance companies. This is why I'll keep fighting for re-election of Democrats
Wrong, Nathan. The Governor is the boss of the AG.
SECTION 21 ATTORNEY GENERAL, DUTIES AND SALARY. The attorney general shall be the legal adviser of the state officers, and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law. He shall receive an annual salary of two thousand dollars, which may be increased by the legislature, but shall never exceed thirty-five hundred dollars per annum.
actually, you're incorrect. According to the WA Constitution:
SECTION 21 ATTORNEY GENERAL, DUTIES AND SALARY. The attorney general shall be the legal adviser of the state officers, and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law. He shall receive an annual salary of two thousand dollars, which may be increased by the legislature, but shall never exceed thirty-five hundred dollars per annum.
@peoplepowered1 : You are mistaken. On a poll where about 1 million people voted 67% of the people were quote on quote "angry with the bill", while only about 25% of the people were "happy with the bill", the remaining percent had no opinion about the bill. Also, even without that "13%", that still make 51% of the people not happy with the bill acording to your statistics. Even then, that 13% could still vote either way so I would say that a more realistic number would be around 51%-58%.
still @peoplepowered1: Regardless of these statistics, I still can not comprehend why you would want to supports something that communist and socialist leaders have tried to do in the United States for so long. They even state this in their "45 goals for US communism". Some healthcare reform is needed, but it needs to be done in a way that the government does not have a lot of control over a major part of our economy.
still @peoplepowered1: Remember this bill will put the United States even more in debt, and last time I checked, Obama gained presidency because one of his main points was that he would help the economy. Not only has he done a worse job than Bush, but this bill will certainly make our national debt even deeper.
Communists were wrong in many areas, but to oppose healthcare reform just because "Communists" supports it is inane. These Communist talking points also included gender and racial equality, criminal justice, and fair treatment for all. Do you oppose them because Communists supported them? The Communist were also anti-Nazi. Does this mean we should start supporting Brown Shirts.
@LarcheOsborne - It all has to do with government control. Despite their hatred for each other, the Communists and the Nazis had something in common with each other. Government Control. I am seeing a similar pattern with this healthcare bill and the amount of power it gives the government. The biggest problem I have is that the government will have to approve medical procedures, and knowing our government, they will always take the cheap way out.
@LarcheOsborne - I knew someone who lived in a country who that had a similar healthcare system. He had colon cancer, and because the government had to approve procedures, instead of getting proper treatment, they took the cheap route and just cut out the infected part, resulting in him having to go to the bathroom in a bag for the rest of his life. His life was never the same. Now tell me, is this what you want? because this is what we are getting.
@yiltstilt, nothing like an uncited personal anecdote. So, here goes mine: I once new a guy who lived in a system without a right to healthcare, who developed colon cancer. It was very sad because, you see, he couldn't afford to get any treatment and died. Now tell me, is this what you want? Incidentally, what does it matter how another system is administrated? The system in place by this bill doesn't give treatment decisions to the government.
@ashman165 So what? If the "right" you believe exists (and it is just that, only a belief), then such a right would compel a whole 'nother set of rights relating to one's personal fulfillment to act responsibly toward one's health. Well, in a country where a quarter of the population smokes, 70% are overweight or obese, and millions more are addicted to an endless stream of drugs, the onus is upon YOU to justify this stupid "right" in a country without a cent of responsibility.
@LarcheOsborne - Like I said earlier, some reform needs to be made, but this bill is just a pile of garbage thrown together by the Democratic Party so they can gain power.
Actually the legislation is rather modest, and still requires refinement. Whatever power it brings the Democrats will result from the public's learning the Republicans were lying about the harmful effects of the bill and actually realize its benefits. (continued)
As for the unfortunate individual suffering from colon cancer, he is better off than many people in the US with similar problems. Here, not only could his insurance company deny him treatment, but they would have denied him coverage as soon as they discovered his illness. Fortunately, insurance companies can no longer drop coverage of people just because they are sick, thanks to the new insurance bill. (continued)
The comparison of healthcare reform to Nazism and Communism is absurd. Nazi Germany, to the best of my knowledge, still operated under a healthcare system regulated by laws made by Bismarck. And look to Denmark or Norway, where healthcare is truly government controlled. People have a higher standard of living than we do and receive better healthcare. How are you more free than the Danes and Norwegians? (continued)
The current legislation is in no way a government "take-over" of healthcare. It is more a system of insurance regulation. It in no way infringes on you freedoms unless you are a medical insurance company that abuses its clients. In fact, since the bill has become law, what rights have you lost? I can list a few you have gained.
You comments indicate a faulty reading or misunderstanding of the new healthcare legislation.
For example, with respect to benefit rationing. Heathcare benefits are already rationed. Where need is greater than supply, any finite commodity will be always be rationed. Healthcare is now rationed on the ability to pay; it remains so under the healthcare bill, but the new legislation makes a major step towards basing rationing on the basis of need, not on the wealth of the patient. (continued)
Enrollment in Medicaid is a positive step for those eligible. Medicaid, as you know, covers poor children, the blind, disabled, and certain other groups unable to afford medical insurance. Medicaid covers those who lack any other means of affording medical coverage. I see nothing mandating adults covered by Medicaid being forced to receive healthcare benefits against their will. (continued)
Furthermore, as I'm sure you know, Medicaid provides better healthcare at a lower cost when compared to private insurance. Do you begrudge the mostly children citizens who receive this, the only medical coverage available to them?
The legislation in no way "fixes prices." Rather, it provides patients with protections from predatory insurance companies by denying them the option of certain unethical practices and requiring them to post benefit/profit ratios online. (continued)
Just by means of correction, despite you improper mention of jurisdiction, a federal court's jurisdiction is defined by Congress. Congress also has the power to create and dissolve federal courts at will. The only court mandated by the Constitution is the Supreme Court, and its jurisdiction, as noted, can be limited by Congress. (continued)
As for judicial review, on the other hand, that judicial power is nowhere mentioned in our Constitution, and many US presidents, including Jackson and Jefferson, denied its applicability.
This is what I mean. "liberals" and "political conservatives" essentially want the same thing. The problem is, the meanings have been jumbled up over time, and it's been factionalized. The liberals of today have noble ends, but they are given a false sense of means to achieve them. The same is true in the modern "conservatives". If we all can agree that we just want prosperity and liberty, what are we fighting for in the first place? A fucking political party?
She has done nothing but lie to us ever since she was elected Governor. Her biggest lie came during her campain where she promissed pay raises for all state workers. After she got in office she told us state workers that there was no money and for us to "SUCK IT UP". So the only thing that this state worker has to say to her is "SUCK ON THIS, BITCH"......
Sounds to me like she pretty much pisses everyone off and doesn't nothing positive, even state employees. Geez What a winner, eh? She needs to be impeached.
Hey gregoire,McKenna doesnt care if you approve. He is following the laws voted on by the people. HE IS DOING HIS JOB. But you wouldnt know about that, you are too busy overturning the will of the voters(I-960) and raising taxes during a horrible economy. Who do YOU represent you miserable lying excuse for a leader?
"[snide laughter] I asked what the legal theory is, I don't buy the legal theory either---but I am not a practicing lawyer."
A statement so self-contradictory my ears are bleeding. If you aren't a lawyer, and don't actually know how to defend the coercive unconstitutionality of legislation YOU support, then why are you trying to block a suit challenging views which you can't even back up???
@ayethereztherub, you should learn to listen more carefully then. She didn't say she's not a lawyer; she said she's not a practicing lawyer. This literally means that she no longer practices law and will demur in favor of an actual practicing lawyer about legal questions. This, however, doesn't mean she's incapable of reading it through and understanding it. She just no longer practices law and leaves to actual practicing ones the task of, you know, lawyering.
@ayethereztherub Oh, I get it; you have no interest in thinking things through. After all, why let such petty a concern as reality get in the way of an otherwise vacuous argument.
@ashman165 "A vacuous argument..." Kind of self-defeating, don't you think? As the phrase isn't directed at anything specific, it's just supposed to be vaguely insulting, but ultimately meaningless. I don't think it's "vacuous" that my rights as a responsible individual are being bludgeoned for the sake of such a skewed agenda. I believe in a right to healthcare, but that right entails a degree of personal responsibility nowhere present in US health statistics... LMAO.
The governor is another bureaucrat whose job it is to spend tax receipts and to maximize those receipts. From her own mouth: "We are putting the country into bankruptcy". It's great to have someone like the AG stand up for his clients, the people of the State of Washington whereas the governor speaks of herself as the client.
@phantomf4j There is nothing unconstitutional about this bill. First of all it doesn't force you to buy anything. If you don't buy insurance, you pay higher taxes. Second of all, after the ratification of the Constitution, a law was passed and signed by George Washington that forced all Americans to buy a gun, powder, balls, etc. We The People voted for this administration, and now you unamerican cry babies in the minority are calling for a violent revolution. Grow up. Read a couple books
You cannot selectively assess taxes. That is against the constitution as well. They tried taxes in order to get around the commerce clause, but they've still ended up with an unconstitutional bill. A mandate will increase costs.
@JohnRhysMusician First of all, according to all the data, there will be no significant change in the cost of premiums for most Americans. Second, what article and section of the constitution forbids you from selectively assessing taxes. Third, how is a 2.5% tax increase on people making over $60,000 a year and who don't provide proof of insurance a selective tax?
@JohnRhysMusician And what do you mean about "As well"? what is your other point that makes this bill unconstitutional? Please help me understand. I love this country and the constitution is my bible, the ten amendments may ten commandments. When people spin fact to try and prove a political point it is an affront to all I as an American hold dear.
Good to know the new standard of our society is to have the healthy and responsible pay for the obese and the addicted. That's so "equal" I can't wait to see what's next!
How can these people be so dumb? .... Fox has convinced them that up is down and black is white ... why anyone would argue for not having inclusive health care for all the population in a first world country is beyond me. The only freedom they are embracing is the freedom to be butt f***ed by the insurance companies and the amazing thing is that they are convinced that they like it!!
The argument is that the bill itself will not fix the underlying problem: insurance companies charging higher and higher premiums, for instance. A basic principle of business is that companies who get taxed pass that burden onto the consumer. Who will get the blame when insurance premiums go up because companies have to increase coverage for their current customers in order to provide quasi-free coverage to new customers?
The point is the government has no right to force people to buy anything. Be honest with yourself, when was the last time the government did something out of the kindness of their hearts, and not for profit. Do the research yourself. Knowledge is power.
if knowledge is power your a weakling. yes the government is inefficient but it does NOT make profit. The government is not AIG or METLIFE or BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD. They make profit.!!!!
Get your facts straight!!! and quite quoting FOX learn to do you own fact finding or at least turn on cnn.
@fernandizo Uh, I hate to break it to you, but health industry stocks skyrocketed at the passage of this bill. Hmmm...my guess would be because this bill increases insurance industry revenues by $50 BILLION annually through unconstitutional insurance mandates. This bill is a roadmap in how to co-opt some pseudo-liberal rhetoric for the sake of a corporate/union/obesity welfare project.
@aStudentofChange First of all, this bill doesn't force anyone to buy anything. Second of all, the government has forced people to buy things before. After the constitution was ratified, a law was passed that required every house to have a gun, powder, balls, flint, and a nap sack. The law also forced people to train. Health reform is not being done out of the kindness the governments heart. It's being done because in 2008 people voted for a man who said he would do it.
@aStudentofChange This bill is not perfect but it is fair and bipartisan. Stop whining and spreading lies like "The government has no right to force people to buy anything". Also, stop over reacting and do your civic duty and inform yourself about the facts of the issues. Your like Henny Penny running around screaming "the sky is falling" and conservatives have been doing that since they lost the election. Your brain washed by fox and rush. They use your fear to make money.
Again, nothing you write contradicts what I wrote. The Militia Act was never considered unconstitutional, was passed by our Founders, and is strong evidence that McKenna's constitutionality argument is silly.
The rest of your post is impotent rage, which amuses me.
Everyone just shut the fuck up, Illuminati is in control and has been for ages. dont expect changes, because if you do you will get lies after lies. just live your life, pay bills, then die.
Well, you have to admit the illuminati is doing a great job. We have prospered greatly under the illuminati. We have homes, cars, wonderful food in abundance.
edwardwhiteokc , all yall dems r just alike !!!!! You must sit at home in ur mom & dads house & think of stupid things to reply with !!!!!!!!!! You must be single lol
@n10dkf ugly AND stupid! doesnt even know our laws but she never cared anyway! all she care about is her own adgenda! democratic witch! she doesnt represent me either! probaly cause im not a boeng ceo!
Way to go governor! You are sending the same message to the AG that I sent him, along with the very clear message that if McKenna dose not pull out of a filling agents the Health care bill he Will BE FIRED!!!!!!!!!
@saj19811981....does the Republican Party have an even better plan to take of the health of the American people who are sick and without basic healthcare? I'm sure they have some plan for the Iraq War, but what about what going on back home?
They don't hear us now, but they'll hear it very loudly and clearly in November. This is completely unfair and unconstitutional. If you don't have health insurance I'm sorry, but there is a better way to solve the issue. If you think that the government will do a better job then look at how it's done with Veteran Affairs, Medicaid, and Social Security.
This woman is completely stubborn and hardheaded. She doesn't care about anyone but herself. She'll pay too.
@saj19811981, she certainly has a strong sense of authority for being a pubic servant. I' with you on the vote in Nov. I think there will be a unprecedented showing of once apathetic voters. We should just vote them all out every time they come up for election. When they finally start doing what is good for, 'we the people', we let that group stay.
"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."
Health care is a Law now. The federal government can mandate it if it wants. It is the supreme law of the land. God bless America!!
Wait what? Majority Americans were against it? You're wrong. I'm for it, and so are many Americans that voted for Democrats and Barack Obama into public service to provide healthcare reform
@jusitke07, you are in for a big surprise come November.
Let me tell you how Obama got elected.
He was voted in by a minority of registered voters. The reason was because the majority of voters didn't like him or McCain so they did not vote. That's all going to change next time.
@jusitke07, Only 63% of the registered voters in the US voted in 08. 47% for McCain and 53% Obama all out of that 63%. You gettin it yet?
That's 47% that voted against Obama plus the 37% of voters that didn't like Obama enough to vote for them. Now, take an angry voter populace that make up both Republicans and Democrats that dislike Obama now and well.....I don't have to spoon feed you anymore, do I?
Yeah, he's pretty much gone in 2012. At the rate he's going, his aproval rating will be 2% by that time. Isn't it a shame that we couldn't have had a great president for the first black one (under the modern constitution)?
@wetweasel56 Because of the health insurance mandates, he's also lost the youth vote, upon whom he relied heavily both for votes and for influence. Health insurance mandates for the young and healthy, just to pay down the health costs of the obese, overweight, and addicted who solely account for the unaffordability of health care in this country?
Have fun dems: "Thank you sir, may I have another!"
We should have elected Ron Paul. We would have been in a totally different situation right now, probably the only country on recovery, having a distinguished economist as president.
I wrote to my Attorney General in Flordia, and you know what I said....DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE HEALTHCARE BILL! OR YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!!!
He must have gotten a good laugh out of that. Remember, never give an order you can't enforce. It makes you look like a fool. It is the duty of every elected official to oppose this legislation as un-American.
I disagree with you, Governor! This looks like an emotional pull like all the other Democrats. #1 Are you kidding yourself when you say the people of Washington want it? #2 Let's look at the facts. Is this bill really unconstitutional? I think so!
OBAMA WHITE WOMAN! Bigger in a white hoe's mind is better. The Palosi 2000 page bill on healthcare as oppossed 2 the less than 200 page bill by repubs. When you open gone556's profile page and change the 556, to 554, 553, 555, 666, 777, or 888, etcetera, you come up with almost as many unused troll / propaganda accounts. The kind that are created en masse by using special software called "bot" software.
Such software is being widely used today by think tank subsidiaries, and special interest groups, along with globalist disinfo spin shops such as SCLdotCC.
We all need to scrutinize usernames with odd #s at the end.
I've been noticing that quite a bit. I'll see one thing in comment sections, and another when I actually talk to people in person. They're trying to change public opinion because it's not going where they want it to. They're mad because leftists aren't battling rightists as much anymore. United people freak them out.
@terramortim After two days of debate(which I have enjoyed most of, thank you) do you still think "leftists aren't battling rightists as much? just a question.
Not a problem. This sort of debate is what should be going on, not just hurling insults back and forth. Debate is healthy.
Well, yes I do. I see something of a smokescreen. Both leftists and rightists are essentially calling for the same things. On youtube, and such places, I see a lot more of this, but in my personal experience with talking to people, I've found more common ground on both sides than I ever have before. Essentially, people are just sick of the way things are. We can all agree.
I have been seeing many lefists waking up to the true American liberalism, which is (seriously) fiscal and political conservatism/social liberalism. The term "liberal" was used up until the 19th century to refer to this crowd. Individual liberty, sound economic policy, non-interventionism, limited government, and social tolerance/peaceful coexistence. The problem is the NeoCons have been in power for a while, but their time is dwindling. This is why the anti-tea party people are dead wrong.
The liberals were split in half, from the original Democratic-Republican party started by Thomas Jefferson into two factions, one supported economic liberty, the other social liberty. Ultimately, with this division, NOBODY gets liberty, as each side ends up taking away the rights of the other, until you have neither economic OR social liberty, and are left with only tyranny.
She's got guts...FINALLY MY VOTE IS BEING HEARD. Unlike how my vote was being totally ignored when my tax money was forced to fund the Iraq war, bailouts for Insurance companies and Banks. The Republican failed. SHE GETS MY VOTE for RE-ELECTION.
VOTE NOV. 2 2010 AND LETS GET THESE COMMIES OUT. She keeps shouting DUTY DUTY DUTY. The only duty he has as AG is to uphold the LAW and the CONSTITUTION and that's exactly what he is doing. The Bill and the concept of it is unconstitutional and illegal in America. He is blatantly staying true to principal, That's why he didnt consult them...Because they are towing the line just because...
Why are all the Democrat weomen so damn ugly. Are polisi and this broad from the same mold. Geez what a blow hard. The people weren't represented by the bill from Black Jesus.
"Get ready to represent me, because I'm opposed to what you're doing." What planet are you on, Christine? He does not represent you, or the majority leader, or the Speaker. He represents the people who voted him into office. His an elected official, Christine, and you're not the queen. Get over yourself. Arrogant lot, all of you.
The Attorney General's job is to uphold the Constitution not party values,Sounds a great deal like she can not accept a different point of view, this she should review and collect information rather than go with party lines
Regardless of whether or not he is right about being concerned about the healthcare plan, he didn't handle this properly and went over the heads of his superiors. He did this without consulting or getting approval from the majority in WA. Republicans disregarding the letter of written law. This is not really news.
@fawdown "Republicans disregarding the letter of the law"
What! That statement flies in the face of the fact that there are distinct and overt ways this bill violates the constitution. But you don't care, do you Pyrrhus? Victory for the few and the undeserving, no matter the cost to the many.
The cost of the many is exactly what this is all about. Doctors get rich. People have been calling on an investigation as to what healthcare really does cost, for a long time now. People have been getting rich for years and good healthcare is out of reach for many people. There are places in the world with cheaper and far more advanced healthcare than here.
It's funny but those people loudly protesting in the streets (tea partyers, etc) are mainly the people who are likely to benefit the most from health care reform in the US.
You don't need repression when you can persuade the sheep to walk to the slaughterhouse.
@sternumagnum Oh shut it already, you preening Nietzsche wannabe.
$50+ BILLION in new insurance co revenues on the backs of the young, the healthy, and the working class, just for the sake of a corporate/union welfare bill? The most unprecedented entrenchment of corporate interests in working class households ever, and you have the nerve to call those people sheep?
Au contraire. I may not agree with their angst, but their anguish is certainly true.
As one of those who protest, I don't need the federal government's help with ANYTHING.
The only thing Washington can do to benefit me is lower my taxes. I am sick of warking hard to pay for deadbeats who can't make it in the nation with the most opportunity anywhere.
That is why we protest; and it's thieves like you and your cronies in DC that fuel our anger. We are not going to play ball with Washington any longer. If you want socialism, count me OUT.
No, I do not need the federal government for ANYTHING - and that means anything friend. You people are so conditioned to depend on the federal sugar tit that you just can't imagine states taking care of their own. And states that want to be liberal can be liberal, and states that want to be libertarian can do likewise.
We are too far gone that you just can't see it. America deserves to be splintered.

Require insurance providers to have sufficient reserve funding to prevent running a "PONZI CAPER" (See Democratic Legislature Video) with cross state line policies. This solvency requirement would effectively disqualify the Federal Government from participating in Washington State as an insurance underwriter, because the USA government have been running a current account deficit and the borrowed fund + interest is transfered to Wa as tax! ie. "PONZI SCAM"
Well, Queen Gregoire, for all that windy moralizing I'd say he represents me, healthy Joe uninsured student. People like Mckenna are the last stand against people like Gregoire handing over youths like me on a silver platter to the insurance industry for the sake of an unhealthy country. This bill is the greatest assault on personal liberty and responsibility this country has EVER seen.
She is crying that McKenna doesn't represent her but that is not his job to. The Attorney General is NOT the GOVS Legal aide and certainly does NOT have to agree with her. Certain parts of the bill are unconstitutional and that is what McKenna is fighting. She is pissed because he joined the other Att. Gens. without her permission.
Fuck you dolt. Better a bureaucrat than a fucking conservative fuck dog. They NEVER balance shit. Only the DEMS do. it's not balanced now because it takes pump priming to save the fucking economy ass. Now the deepest shit since the 30s is coming to an end. it's called Keynesian pump priming you fucking fascist fuck.
Dude so very not cool! I don't like this woman political views and what she stands for, But I will not degrade her dignity and say fowl crap like that. You need to grow up!
First she says that the attorney general shouldnt represent a different opion than the Govn. This is why its a seperately elected postion. Checks and balances. First the dems trample over 960 and now our constitutional rights. McKenna is standing up for our rights. I applaud cresanteagleent. He/She? speaks of personal responsibility and this states willingness to punish the hard working American and award those who dont through property redistribution. Govn, youll be out of a job soon!
You can debate the constitution all you want but when it all comes down to it we just can't afford government run healthcare. Every year they have a deficit of $550 billion. Heathcare would just be the elephant that broke the camels back.
WHEN A WHITE MALE HAS LOST ALL HIS MONEY AND HAS NO JOB USALLY RIGHT WING WHITE MALES THEY WANT TO GO OUT AND SHOOT PEOPLE HA HA HA HA OR THEY START BLAMING MEXICANS AND BLACKS HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
THATS WHY THE POLITICIANS ARE BEING THREATEN BY THESE TEA PARTIERS THEY NEED JOBS.
AND STOP WATCHING GLENN BECK HE IS LIEING TO YOU GUYS HES A IDIOT AND A MILLIONAIRE WHO DOENS WANT TO BE TAXED; WAKE UP TEA PARTIERS.
The healthcare bill will fail, mainly becuase there is a middle-man driving the price of the bill way up. (Private healthcare insurance companys)

Dictators all claim it will help medicare.
They were right.

Thanks....
I had a Dr before the change!
Thanks for helping medicare STOP payments to private Doctors Gregoire!
Now I have to go to ER to get the care I need and pay hundreds of dollars in co-payments for a single visit that a simple vist to my private Dr did with a small co-payment of $10 - $20.

The governor is the chief executive of the state. The AG of a state holds office in the executive branch.

Even then, that 13% could still vote either way so I would say that a more realistic number would be around 51%-58%.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
still @peoplepowered1: Regardless of these statistics, I still can not comprehend why you would want to supports something that communist and socialist leaders have tried to do in the United States for so long. They even state this in their "45 goals for US communism". Some healthcare reform is needed, but it needs to be done in a way that the government does not have a lot of control over a major part of our economy.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
still @peoplepowered1: Remember this bill will put the United States even more in debt, and last time I checked, Obama gained presidency because one of his main points was that he would help the economy. Not only has he done a worse job than Bush, but this bill will certainly make our national debt even deeper.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
Communists were wrong in many areas, but to oppose healthcare reform just because "Communists" supports it is inane. These Communist talking points also included gender and racial equality, criminal justice, and fair treatment for all. Do you oppose them because Communists supported them? The Communist were also anti-Nazi. Does this mean we should start supporting Brown Shirts.
LarcheOsborne 1 year ago
@LarcheOsborne - It all has to do with government control. Despite their hatred for each other, the Communists and the Nazis had something in common with each other. Government Control. I am seeing a similar pattern with this healthcare bill and the amount of power it gives the government. The biggest problem I have is that the government will have to approve medical procedures, and knowing our government, they will always take the cheap way out.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
@LarcheOsborne - I knew someone who lived in a country who that had a similar healthcare system. He had colon cancer, and because the government had to approve procedures, instead of getting proper treatment, they took the cheap route and just cut out the infected part, resulting in him having to go to the bathroom in a bag for the rest of his life. His life was never the same. Now tell me, is this what you want? because this is what we are getting.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
@yiltstilt, nothing like an uncited personal anecdote. So, here goes mine: I once new a guy who lived in a system without a right to healthcare, who developed colon cancer. It was very sad because, you see, he couldn't afford to get any treatment and died. Now tell me, is this what you want? Incidentally, what does it matter how another system is administrated? The system in place by this bill doesn't give treatment decisions to the government.
ashman165 1 year ago
@ashman165 So what? If the "right" you believe exists (and it is just that, only a belief), then such a right would compel a whole 'nother set of rights relating to one's personal fulfillment to act responsibly toward one's health. Well, in a country where a quarter of the population smokes, 70% are overweight or obese, and millions more are addicted to an endless stream of drugs, the onus is upon YOU to justify this stupid "right" in a country without a cent of responsibility.
ayethereztherub 1 year ago
@LarcheOsborne - Like I said earlier, some reform needs to be made, but this bill is just a pile of garbage thrown together by the Democratic Party so they can gain power.
yiltstilt 1 year ago
Actually the legislation is rather modest, and still requires refinement. Whatever power it brings the Democrats will result from the public's learning the Republicans were lying about the harmful effects of the bill and actually realize its benefits. (continued)
LarcheOsborne 1 year ago
As for the unfortunate individual suffering from colon cancer, he is better off than many people in the US with similar problems. Here, not only could his insurance company deny him treatment, but they would have denied him coverage as soon as they discovered his illness. Fortunately, insurance companies can no longer drop coverage of people just because they are sick, thanks to the new insurance bill. (continued)
LarcheOsborne 1 year ago
The comparison of healthcare reform to Nazism and Communism is absurd. Nazi Germany, to the best of my knowledge, still operated under a healthcare system regulated by laws made by Bismarck. And look to Denmark or Norway, where healthcare is truly government controlled. People have a higher standard of living than we do and receive better healthcare. How are you more free than the Danes and Norwegians? (continued)
LarcheOsborne 1 year ago

(continued)
LarcheOsborne 1 year ago

@ayethereztherub, you should learn to listen more carefully then. She didn't say she's not a lawyer; she said she's not a practicing lawyer. This, however, doesn't mean she's incapable of reading it through and understanding it. She just no longer practices law and leaves to actual practicing ones the task of, you know, lawyering.

JohnRhysMusician 1 year ago
@JohnRhysMusician First of all, according to all the data, there will be no significant change in the cost of premiums for most Americans. Second, what article and section of the constitution forbids you from selectively assessing taxes. Third, how is a 2.5% tax increase on people making over $60,000 a year and who don't provide proof of insurance a selective tax?

@JohnRhysMusician And what do you mean about "As well"? what is your other point that makes this bill unconstitutional? Please help me understand.
JuanVoyce 1 year ago
The argument is that the bill itself will not fix the underlying problem: insurance companies charging higher and higher premiums, for instance. A basic principle of business is that companies who get taxed pass that burden onto the consumer. Who will get the blame when insurance premiums go up because companies have to increase coverage for their current customers in order to provide quasi-free coverage to new customers?

@aStudentofChange First of all, this bill doesn't force anyone to buy anything. Second of all, the government has forced people to buy things before. After the constitution was ratified, a law was passed that required every house to have a gun, powder, balls, flint, and a nap sack. The law also forced people to train. Health reform is not being done out of the kindness the governments heart. It's being done because in 2008 people voted for a man who said he would do it.

Hm, interesting.

United people freak them out.
terramortim 1 year ago
@terramortim After two days of debate(which I have enjoyed most of, thank you) do you still think "leftists aren't battling rightists as much? just a question.
peoplepowered1 1 year ago
Not a problem. This sort of debate is what should be going on, not just hurling insults back and forth. Debate is healthy.
Well, yes I do. I see something of a smokescreen. Both leftists and rightists are essentially calling for the same things. On youtube, and such places, I see a lot more of this, but in my personal experience with talking to people, I've found more common ground on both sides than I ever have before. Essentially, people are just sick of the way things are. We can all agree.
terramortim 1 year ago
I have been seeing many lefists waking up to the true American liberalism, which is (seriously) fiscal and political conservatism/social liberalism. The term "liberal" was used up until the 19th century to refer to this crowd. Individual liberty, sound economic policy, non-interventionism, limited government, and social tolerance/peaceful coexistence. The problem is the NeoCons have been in power for a while, but their time is dwindling. This is why the anti-tea party people are dead wrong.
terramortim 1 year ago

REMEMBER NOV 2 VOTE VOTE VOTE
GET RID OF THE COMMIES.

Madam,
The Attorney General's job is to uphold the Constitution not party values,Sounds a great deal like she can not accept a different point of view, this she should review and collect information rather than go with party lines

Regardless of whether or not he is right about being concerned about the healthcare plan, he didn't handle this properly and went over the heads of his superiors. He did this without consulting or getting approval from the majority in WA. Republicans disregarding the letter of written law. This is not really news.
fawdown 1 year ago
@fawdown "Republicans disregarding the letter of the law"
What! That statement flies in the face of the fact that there are distinct and overt ways this bill violates the constitution. But you don't care, do you Pyrrhus? Victory for the few and the undeserving, no matter the cost to the many.
ayethereztherub 1 year ago

"preening" ?
LOL

As one of those who protest, I don't need the federal government's help with ANYTHING.
The only thing Washington can do to benefit me is lower my taxes. I am sick of warking hard to pay for deadbeats who can't make it in the nation with the most opportunity anywhere.
That is why we protest; and it's thieves like you and your cronies in DC that fuel our anger. We are not going to play ball with Washington any longer. If you want socialism, count me OUT.
Deadbeat!

You don't need the federal government's help "with ANYTHING"?
Think abt that nonsense you wrote next time you cross a bridge or call the police. To give you only tow instances of "ANYTHING".
Are you living in the woods of Montana, perhaps?..
sternumagnum 1 year ago
@sternumagnum

Washington State: WAC 284-16 (400)

This bill is the greatest assault on personal liberty and responsibility this country has EVER seen.

superhuman25 1 year ago
She is crying that McKenna doesn't represent her but that is not his job to. The Attorney General is NOT the GOVS Legal aide and certainly does NOT have to agree with her. Certain parts of the bill are unconstitutional and that is what McKenna is fighting. She is pissed because he joined the other Att. Gens. without her permission.
