Righty-Tighty, Lefty-loosey Shannon. LOL I had an alto sax, but lost it when my first house burned in 1979, but I don't remember it having that brace or weights. As a matter of fact, I seem to remember that is where the little valve to change the octave was. I could be wrong though, that was a lot of brain cells ago! LOL
@MegaMoochie1 The weights don't exist in older saxophones - they were a concept of Rheuben's. And I know how to unscrew things, but it was stuck. I can barely open a bottle of water on my own let alone a metal weight!
