played Blitzkrieg commander because i wanted to get into 6mm .it was a big let down ,i mean its ok but at the club we ran a few games at the same time .i think the fact i was looking into it got some of Blitzkriegs ex players willing to give it another airing.played our games all day between 10:30am-5:15pm and nobody seemed to enjoy it .i was let down while the rest had remembered why theyd stop playing.the C&C can lead to some very dull games i much prefer epics take on C&C were you gamble .
The three Commander rulebooks (Blitzkrieg/Cold war/Future war) totally dominate my local gaming club. Specialist Military Publishing support them really well. I would thoroughly recommend them with one caution, you must be able to agree how to deal with unusual situations on the spot. They emphasise simplicity and speed, allowing you to use very big armies indeed. They are not ideal for company level use, think big, brigades or even a division or two.
@BadMFonit Yes I totally agree with these thoughts. The method in which models have overpowered in one turn or they "reset" again on the next round works very well.
While I'm not a fan of FWC or any sort of future/sci fi miniaturebattles, I'm more in BkC and other WW2 or historical gaming, you have some awesome stuff. Keep up the good work. :)
@drOffset I have been so busy developing my own 15mm SCI-FI game Gruntz! It has stopped me playing mostly all other games while I expand rules, playtest, paint etc. However I do still really like FWC and after several games of it I will be back for more, using 6mm scale.
Battletech minis are always good choice. Expesially when there is not only both armored and unarmored infantry and vehicles but also mechs, fighters and even naval units to act as similar units that this game has.
@TheDaftpunkfan09 brigademodels.co.uk Is a good start. They sell the rules and ship worldwide. I know you can buy the rules in the US. Old Crow Models do the terrain items.
@Xenomorph237 Yes the Skirmish rules in the book allow you to base single figure. To be honest you could base single figure for the standard game but you would lose the Epic battle scale feel. It is a large battle game which plays well with small figures and lots of troops based together at 6mm can look really nice. Base size is totally flexible though, you could vary the bases as long as you don't go too big or too tiny. Big bases look good for the large walkers.
@Xenomorph237 Yes the rules work for 15mm, many of the illustrations in the book show 15mm troops. There are also some specific Skirmish rules in the book built for larger scale models but based on the same game principals.
@MasterOfOrdinance They are Battletech metal hex bases. I based them for Battletech several years ago. I was not actually sure it worked for FWC because they are large bases for such small models but glad you liked them. They can be purchased from the ironwindmetals online store
great video, I would try this out but am actually helping develop a game very similar :P kickass miniatures too dude! im gettin into battletech as well and really like those! what was that walker on the opposite side that looked like a damn warjack?
I'm going to have to look into those rules. Lets you answer those what if scenarios like what if a portal opened and an army of space marines enter the Battletech universe who'd win? Man, really like the 6mm range makes for epic battles. Hope to see more of this.
@si2foo Yes they have all the races from GW in the book. They have named them slightly differently for copyright reasons e.g. Imperial Guard are callled Red Guard in the book. Every GW model from epic is covered as far as I can see.
Cannot stress how good this is to see 6mm sci-fi being played; especially using "open source" miniature ranges, per se. Would like to see more of this!

Hi, I'm curious if you're still playing this game. It seems like a fun way to use whatever minis you have in that scale.

Nice terrain setup.
Who makes the civilian cars you have scattered around? They add a lot to the look of the board.

@venusboys3 They are Games Workshop 6mm Battlecars. You often find them on Ebay.

Could you play the rules using minis that are single based?? or do you have to play by how you base your minis???

looks like fun, I'll have to break out some of my mechs and give it a try.

What did you use as infantry bases for your troopers? They look really sharp.
As always, a superb battle report.

@Reaverhobbies Good luck with the project. The Warjack looking thing is from Dark Realm Miniatures. It is a Malignant walker.
