do they still either of them anymore? it's been like what? 8 or 9 years? i bought my icybie for $100 back in '01. They have to be way cheaper by now, right? What are the new "icbye/aibos" for 2010?
@NikkoCharger so they do still make them and sell them? or just old stock on ebay? haha. man, that whole pet robot fad was an awesome time to live through.
@thelonelyslayer no they don't make aibos any more or i cybies but there is another company that still makes robot dogs called genibos basically rip offs of aibo they'll cost you 3,000 dollars (american)
@NikkoCharger don't mention genibos! they have too jerky movement, and not good sound quality! Nao by Aldebaran Robotics pretty much whips off both Aibo and Genibo and just this year went on sale for $15,000
The Aibo came out first and has waaaaaay better servos than I-Cybie. We did what we could with it (I was one of the programmers), but for $200 it walks pretty good! ;o)
I bought an I-cybie and it wasn't what I expected. Mainly bc I would charge the battery completely and than a half hour later, he would go back in his position that tells you he has low batteries. I want an aibo but am afraid it'll be similar to I-cybie.
you over charged the battery...tiger said 10hours...that was wrong. Should have been 2.5 to 3 hours. thats what read on-line. the batteries were ruined. BIG MISTAKE on tigers half
Yeah, I thought 10 hours was a long time. I figured it might be a battery overcharge, but since thats what the instructions said I figured it must have been something else.
@mrfinke Aibos are nothing like I-cybies, in my opinion they are at least 100X better than I-cybies. But of course in terms of how long the battery lasts either aibos or I-cybies can have old batteries it's mainly just chance how good a battery you get. I myself have six I-cybies and three aibos and I love them all! :)
I tested my aibos compared to my iCybies... The ers7 is faster than the predecessors and icybie. (well obviously) lol

I got a I-Cybie about 3 years ago and never got to play with it, the battery was bad from the get go.
he just sits on the shelf. :(
