  • Nice, but is it worth 400$ or should I get a Microsoft Wheel for 80$?

  • @xdlugia1 The Microsoft wheel is a plasticy, unreliable and overpriced toy...I've had one, it was OK but for the price I wouldn't touch it..if it was $50 I would think about it, however the Fanatec is well worth the money. The GT2 is the wheel for you and your XBox use..it's $300 with the pedals..not $400, however the price would rise if you want Clubsport pedals. Have a look at some of the later episodes of my review vids and you'll find a comparison between M$, Fanatec and Logitech wheels

  • @UKOGjonboy Actually the Microsoft Wheel is very good, but it may feel bad because you're used to the Fanatec one. But I wish the MS one had 900* instead of simply 270*.

As a student I may not have enough money, but maybe when I grow rich! xD

But one more question: When you have your wheel and pedals on that stand, a pole in the centre will make you unable of moving your foot from gas to brake (Which people do IRL), do you have to use both feet then?

  • @xdlugia1 If you've never used any other wheel then the MS one will feel quite good BUT! Before owning an MS wheel I'd owned the Logitech DFP for my PS2 it cost £54 and was a brilliant wheel, great FFb, 900* support, brilliant pedals and great clamps.the MS wheel cost me £82 and had reasonable FFb, only 270*, horribly uncomfortable pedals and crap clamps! It's a poor wheel which was 4 years out of date on the day it was released 4 Years ago...now it's 8 years out of date! And still overpriced.

  • @xdlugia1 Yes at the moment I Left foot brake partly due to the pole in the way on the playseat and partly because I find it comfortable to race that way, I've always Left Foot Braked woith Sim Wheels, from Logitech DFP, M$, Logitech DFX, Fanatec PWTS and Fanatec GT2, I also Left Foot brake when in Karts and have been a left foot braker in single seater cars such as Formula Ford and Formula First.

  • @UKOGjonboy Yeah, you have to use left foot to brake in karts. But in real life, you you brake with your left foot there too, or......... Don't you drive in real life?

  • @xdlugia1 Oh yes I do drive in real life, very much, I'm a Paramedic on rapid response cars....driving cars at speed is part of my job and on the road they don't come much more qualified than my collegues and I am, unless you're a traffic cop, Left foot braking depends on the car you're in. In road cars obviously I don't left foot brake but on track when I've driven Formula Ford and Formula First I have left foot braked in the past.

  • @UKOGjonboy I see... That's just like me. I'm not braking with left foot on the road, but when I drive Go-Kart I brake with left (because it is impossible to brake with right).

But my question is: Doesn't it feel wierd to use left foot braking when driving a regular road car on a sim?

  • @xdlugia1 No it doesn't feel weird at all, but then I've been palying racing sims with a wheel for 5 years now so I guess I'm just used to it.

  • they should have made the porche logo in the middle the xbox, ps3 home button :)

  • But you know... It's a feature. You are amazing :D

  • where did you get the wheel from because i cant find it

  • @danynnight I'm afraid you may be a little late. I think Fanatec have now sold out of XBox compatible PWTS's like mine, but thay still make and sell quite a lot of PS3/PC compatible ones go to their website and check 'em out.

(just google Fanatec and you'll find 'em)

  • @danynnight They have released a new version called GT2 wich is XB360 compatable.

  • @Nefus1988 And I have one! I'll be reviewing it very soon.

  • Hey can I get the price and does it have secondary paddles instead of the h shifter?

  • @Judgey112597 You'll have tpo look at Fanatec's site for the price. But yeahthere are paddles behind the wheel.

  • Hey man, how does the size of this wheel compare to a legit steering wheel? Just wondering.

  • @krankank The Fanatec has the largest circumferance of any gaming wheel, but AFAIK it's still a bit smaller than a real 911 Porsch wheel...it's very comfortable to use though and much more comfortable than the M$ and Logitech wheels.

  • @UKOGjonboy Alright, thanks man.

  • Sombody just sent a comment asking what wheel is at 1:07.....sorry whoever you were I pressed delete comment instead of reply...that wheel is the Logitech Drive FX

  • could u plz tell me what wheel that waz at 1:07 i am looking for a wheel for my 360 but all i can find r the cheap mad catz thx

  • is it relaible? how long does it last?

  • @coolbowens Mine was not reliable. The first wheel had a force feedback issue. The second wheel broke some sort of bracket holding the shaft in place, and the wheel now flops around.

If you want reliable, I would personally get a G27.

  • @coolbowens Mine's been fine, no problems with any of the production parts and only 1 small issue with a Beta part which was replaced within a week.

  • Great wheel thanks!

  • Thats a bummer about headset compatibility, do you know if it was fixed on the final product or do i need a new headset?

  • As you don' t get the metal plate with the porsche carrera wheel, should you recommend buying them as an option? i will use the pedals on the floor so i' m not planning to hardmount them in a playseat..

  • u have 2 use ur left hand for the clutch cant the clutch be on the right?

  • i think you mean the shifter, if your using the clutch with your hands someting is wrong. and yes you can mount the shifter on either side of the wheel to represent you countries driving side.

  • Yes you can use the shifter/gearstick on either side of the wheel, the mounting rods just push straight through the wheel.

  • have you try RFACTOR pc racing game on this wheel??? it has over 300 race tracks to download.

  • you are awesome

  • Thank you

  • What he is saying is he's a journalist and because we are all reading his review he gets it for free. Sure he put a little time into making these video's but many of us would jump at this same chance to get a expense wheel with no out of pocket expenses. I am not saying this is wrong but I hate when people sugar coat things. he got it for free basically and yes he donated a little time but he had fun doing it. He's priveledged. The rest of us have to wait and pay hard earned money.

  • you can get a pre production wheel to test and review when the wheel is released you can purchase one or send it back. He is not getting for free so don't be jealous

  • Highfiber:

Please get your facts straight before making assumptions

    I'm not a Journalist...I'm a Paramedic

I didn't put a little time into these vids, I've put a LOT! of time into it....and am planning to put even more in.

Yes I jumped at the chance to test this wheel, but so far I am out of pocket to the tune of £32 for a wirless headset I otherwise wouldn't have needed and £34.99 for mailing the wheel back to Germany so that it can be updated for more features to reviewed.

  • I'm sugar coating nothing, so far I'm £66 out of pocket and have spent at least 40 hours of my time on reviews and answering questions here and on many other forums.

I've got nothing for free, like I said I have been offered the opportunity to buy the Beta wheel at a discount, or send it back.

I may be privileged, but everyone had the same chance to apply to test as I did.

And I am also with everyone else in that I have already paid my hard earned for the finished wheel.

  • Yes I have had fun doing these reviews and will continue to do so, despite your unfounded critisism (jealousy) and the £66.99 I'm out of pocket to do these tests, I wouldn't change it for the world.

  • im not buying that i have a turtle beach headset and i know that wont fit

  • There are adapters available to solve the headset problem. I got them included when I bought Rock Band, so you could plug the old headsets into the guitar. Not sure where to buy them though.

Great review so far JonBoy. I can't wait to get mine in November. Maybe I will even take another crack at RacePro, since it will be my first wheel and I hear that RP is really good with a wheel.

  • Great to see you got a beta wheel Jonboy. I've raced with you many times in forza 2 : )

I ordered my wheel a long time ago and will see you in Forza,

    Have a good one!

  • Could you please demonstrate how you are to change wheel settings, such as FFB %, etc

  • Yes will do in my next video

  • Question please.

How rigid is the two rod mount

for the H Shifter? Could you review

    this detail. Thanks!

  • I have it preordered for the nov delivery date here on the us... Does that mean I will revieve a productio. Version or will they ship betas for some time?

  • Beta Wheel, How is one priviledged

to receive the beta wheel for free?

  • It's not free, I applied to be a beta tester last November and was accepted, in return I provide my time in providing information to Fanatec and put in the time and effort to produce these video reviews and doing Q&A's with the gaming community.......then when it's all over if I want the wheel I have to pay for it (at a discount)........but I'm doing it for the love of racing games and for the benefit of the racing community.

  • Cool beans. Thanks!

  • Sorry m8 my bad its ok

    silly me(lol)

    thanks again

  • thanks again
