  • God, I love Mark Lanegan's voice: so deep, raspy, grungy, and lovely; it's almost sexy <3

  • grunge killed hair metal....we now need a return of grunge to kill country....where's the unwritten 20 year nostalgia rule when i need it??

  • @domirules28 We need grunge to kill pop

  • @domirules28

Why? why kill any of the different styles at all? we pick what we want, it's easy..

  • Lead singer has a great voice.

  • No I'm not on dope, dont need it, Screaming Trees gets me high enough

  • Screaming Trees is easily one of the greatest bands to come the 90s

  • Can't believe these guys came to an end cause labels weren't interested on their music. No wonder today's music is nothing compared to the great music of the 90's. ST were always underrated. A good influence on my own music. People liking the great music of the 90's please check my band, on my channel for some new 90's influenced music.

  • Mark fukin Lanegan ! ! ! His voice is unpresidented!

  • From 1991?

  • Its not nice clinging on to something you sort of have and worrying that tomorrow it could all be gone. Im on a journey and i dont want it to end with someone........

  • thanks for posting!

  • lanegan is epic.

    his solo music is INTENSE

  • i love this song, but dont really get the video

  • This song reminds me of high school. This is on one of the best movie soundtracks of the 90's. The soundtrack of the movie "Singles." Watch the movie to catch a couple bands including the group that plays back up to actor Dillon's band - spoiler it's Pearl Jam... Eddie even has a couple lines... Eddie... Eddie... Probably the band of the times besides Nirvana... Especially for the "Seattle sound" of the early 90's. (Grunge is what it was later called. we just called it ours. oh and the flannels!

  • Yeah, this came out in '92. I finished high school in '91 and this was so great to listen to at the time. Such great music by the Trees.

  • and don't forget to catch the movie "Reality Bites" from the same era

  • haha its ok...

  • Is Mark naturally ginger? :)

  • they don't like to be called grunge

  • what are they then?

  • amazing

  • Grunge doesn't exist. Dopey music critics use it, but back then - as an above poster stated - it was just 'our music' or maybe Seattle Alternative. Grunge was a term used later and included far too many derivative bands (Bush, Candlebox...some other late-comers...products of labels).

    Grunge doesn't exist.

  • This is one of my fave's from the 90's!!!*****!!

  • me too! not into 90's music, but this was a great song! even bought the cd!

  • hey this song was on singles?

    awesome

would by alice in chains was on their too!

  • i love this band! its a real shame they didnt get noticed these guys just didnt get what they deserved

  • Movie "singles" turned me on to these bands, somethin in the water out there...nirvana and pearl jam tattoos to boot!

  • This isnt even their good stuff...without a doubt one of the most unknown and underrated bands out of the "grunge" era...Anthropology album is pure genius

  • I love that drumline in the intro with the toms. It sounds so cool.

  • Ha! I remember this song from the film "Singles" - got the soundtrack on CD after seeing the film at the cinema. Cool song.

  • I listen to Glenn Beck and, every now and again, hell play that instrumental part from the beginning of the song (and after the end of the chorus) right before he goes to a commercial break. I don't remember when or how I came to find out who the band was or what the name of the song was, but I'm glad I did. It's a pretty cool song.

  • For some reason, I forgot this band from the 90's. All I could remember is "All I Know" from them. No offence to their fans.

  • Screaming trees are far from sucking, they just aren't as heavy as STP/AIC. You would probably like Soundgarden a lot too, at least early Soundgarden.

  • yeaa i do like soundgarden too.. i didnt mean they suck but i eant jus not my style.. i like how u dnt criticize me and call me and asshole wen i say sumthin like tht

  • everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

but i will say that i do enjoy the screaming trees

  • Like BillyArtillery said you are entitled to your own opininion but The Screaming Trees are fantastic in my opinion.

I also love the Melvins, listen to Flipper, you might like them oh and Mudhoney.

  • If the screaming trees suck so much then why are you watching their music videos douchebag.

  • Psychedelic grunge!! listen to the guitar solo, it's pretty acid.

  • this kicks much ass!

  • yes.. yes i am on dope and lots of it

  • MK-ULTRA

  • Lanegan's hair is fucking beautiful in this video.

  • ..it is!

  • muito foda essa música

  • Still great.

  • q genial este tema... grunge lo mejor

  • i really loved this band...had great time with their music

  • this song is sooo awsome

  • not loadsa ppl kno how great mark lanegan is he is a true legend

  • one of the most under rated bands. these guys were great. anyone know if they're still together?

  • Nope, they basically stopped being productive in 1996 and broke up in 2000. Josh Homme, of QOTSA and Kyuss, was on the road with them and had to quit after a year because things were so bad.

Mark Lanegan joined QOTSA for a time, had a succesful solo album, and is in the Gutter Twins now. Van Conner has a new rock band last I heard. Lee Conner I think is out of the music business. No clue about Barrett Martin.

  • Martin barre? ah, he jumped in a time machine learned a new instrument and played with tull for 'bout 30 years...

  • martin played with mad season, one of the most amazing things i've ever listened to! good old mike and layne.

after that he played later on with on with qotsa and rem. not really famous bands though..lol

  • Barret Martin is a beast, did every seattle band have a good drummer? but i had no clue he was the drummer for mad season... cool to know.

  • Saw these guys open for Social Distortion on the UCSD campus years ago. Not impressed then, but they really improved with this album.

  • this album was there very first so what you on about!!!

  • this song was out way before sun god even started

  • fuck yeah!!!

  • my dad was freinds with one of these dudes in middle school than my dad moved tho

  • im sorry lol

  • Brenda? Do you hear me?

    Love you all the same.

  • grunge forever........

  • OMG Fabio was in a band?!?!?!

  • lol, fabio

  • should be good for RB DLC!

  • the drum track seems insane on this song

  • Hmm pretty cool song may download it for rockband next week...

  • your mom

  • This song brings me right back to High School. Oh my god! I used to hum this song in 5th period Chemistry!

  • yeah, I loved this song so much back in those days. that's one thing that makes youtube so great is that many of these songs/videos are on here and they bring back so many great memories.

  • if being a fag meant you cant be musically gifted then we would have missed out on so much

  • STP RULES

  • They are the shit. But Screaming Trees was damn good, too.

  • (L)

  • so many great drummers from the 90's

  • indeed

  • I know what you mean by the replacement bands. They are very good too, the trendier bands are the ones we hear on the radio and yes we are worn out by them. AND WHAT is up with WilliamHMurderface for a screen name? LOL

  • Hells yeah! I love this song! Thanks for sharing :)

  • great song and a great band

  • weren't these guys from Seattle too?

  • E-Burg baby... E-burg.

  • You guys need to listen to the replacements sometime. All the bands you guys named ripped them off.

  • Stone Temple Pilots its the best band ever mother fuckers

  • you have a problem with Nirvana? Geez...

  • There were so much bands that time. And many of them much better than nirvana. An "it" group with 2,3 listenable songs. I hate their hard/soft shift in each song. Boring and predictable. Mudhoney and Alice in Chains in their doom phase rocked rather fierce.. I loved Dinosaur Jr. too. Nirvana came after DJr. Nirvana, honestly... an overassesed group. The screaming trees swam in the middle of all. Grunge was commercial, the next big thing. The truth dwells in Rock/metal underground.

  • so many years..

and i still loving the grunge very much!

  • u can like both grunge & hair metal, I do & so did the guys from mother love bone, and green river

  • EXACTLY

its just whatever you like to listen to, for insance, i like both Billy Joel and Meshuggah, it doesn't matter the genre as long as you like the sound

  • great song from a great era in music

  • hair metal is not dead u idiot, theres american bands Hiar bands coming out,and in europe theres new wave hair metal u jackass

  • getting popular? I doubt it.

  • Rock is dead, unfortunately. Rarely we'll see some good songs come out, but overall it's not looking good.

That's why you'll hear mostly older songs on the radio. This one still plays on the radio pretty regular.

Don't knock Pearl Jam though. They had some very good songs.

  • Rock isn't completely dead. There's still Josh Homme's bands (QotSA and EoDM) and Jack White w/ the Raconteurs and the White Stripes... Other than that, though... Nothing...

  • Foo Fighters.

  • oh shut up

  • lol get your act together

  • @chris61986 Alot of new music is rubbish...especially on the radio.

  • @chris61986 try a band called anarchy rat...you'll find em on myspace.

  • @chris61986 there is still hope man it happens music sucks for a while then something comes out and changes everything like we had nirvana nine inch nails soundgarden it'll happen won't sound the same but something good will come along

  • hair metal sucks its dead and may it stay dead... the 80s was a shit stain on the underwear of time. Although the 90s was a time when boy bands roamed the earth and all good rock music was heroin fueled narcissism i wouldn't have it any other way.

  • its better to burn out than to fade away.

    grunge burnt out

hair metal is still fading away slowly dying of aids.

  • LOL

  • alright no more of this simply retarded fighting, your making yourself look like complete ignoramuses. any form of music can be good depending on your OPINION of it. and please, stop with the overdone and insulting gay jokes...

  • damn you must be an angel

  • so awesome....91-94 forever...never ever forget!

  • saw these guys & the beastie boys with widespread panic

somewhere back in the day (1988-1991?)

    what a show

  • such a hot, sexy voice. i want to see more grunge guys!!

  • better than any fuckin pearl jam

  • not better

    just different

just cuz u dont like pearl jam, doesnt mean other people dont

nobody gives a shit about your opinion

  • nor yours so dont be puttin down someones right to voice their opinion

  • eggs.

  • water

  • BEST DAMN SONG

  • I don't know if you care, but just so I don't exaggerate my problems, I'm back with my Gran. I'm used to this, sorry for being a cry baby.

Next time rather than the street I'm going straight to my Grans.

Thanks for the three thumbs up.

  • i'd stab you with a rusty knife if i saw you on the street. you america destroying, sellout fucking cockswab. crawl into your wormhole. the gods will see it soon enough. parasitic, maggot piece of shit.

  • woa man.. woa.

    Where's the love?

And I really don't think I'd make the top of the shitlist if "gods" suddenly materialized out of your ass. Im flattered, really. But you fail. :]

  • ur right on the first one. Ellensburg it is! it's alot less rainy than seattle.

  • I've just been kicked out of my house by my parents again. I'm sitting here crying, using the last of my battery and somebody else's internet connection just to play this song one last time. 5 fuckin stars.

  • ask your Angels from above.

  • Actually, why can't people like Grunge and Hip Hop?

  • exactly

    music is just music

  • stupid is just stupid

  • oh really? youd know all about that wouldnt you?

so let me get this straight, your stupid if you like pearl jam and screaming trees- is that what your trying to say here? cuz i cant really understand you with that dick in your mouth..

  • essa banda é mais..............

  • this song kicks any rap crap & hannah montana , today the music is just nearly LOST

  • Why can't people like Grunge and Rap.

  • blood and roses by?

  • The Smithereens

  • shut the fuck up dude, hair metal came up with the ebst guitar riffs and grunge only strummed 3 fucking strings.Besides, music is about having fun and forgetting hard times, not about how life is you fucking retarded monkey

  • thats not true in any way shape or form... blues?

  • Classic!!

  • peace to all, who cares of confrontation, life is so short and bliss is constantly at our fingertips.

  • forget this Grunge and Glam war, they're both good what are you going to win if one was better than the other?

  • how would u know that if austarlians live like at the fucking bottom of the world and are reatrded? Dude just STFU you'' never win i've seen more Hair metal people than Grunge people.Grunge got old so fast, lasted only like 4 yaers and hair metal lasted for like about 11 years fagot

  • grunge was around alot longer than 4 years and it can be traced by to the mid 80's in seatlle with bands like mother love bone and green river. Also there was post grunge which is still around with bands like nickleback and daughtry etc.Hair metal didnt last for 11 years faggot and your the faggot for liking that shit you gay poser. What do you like looking at men in tight paints and makeup faggot.Because thats wat hair metal is.

  • Nickelback is not grunge they are pop

  • i thought they were post grunge isnt pop like avrial levine and good charlotte and shit like that

  • Maybe...but to the whole world they are pop lmao

  • who cares i dont really listen to that post grunge shit anyway so it was probably a bad example

  • pathetic comment coming from a stupid australian who doesn't abviously know anything about american music, what a retard...seriously

  • just because i m from australia doesnt mean i dont know shit about music. However i do know hair metal is gay

  • Dude these guys can't even play guitar, and good solos, tahy don't even ahve solos you dipshit.Maybe alot of todays hair band members are past 40 but tehy can still rock and pack arenas. And why do u think these grunge bastards changed to a dif. genre? Becuz they won't make money with grunge cuz it fucking sucks.Hair Metal is making it's comeback too jackass, theres alot of new sleaze and glam coming out of europe and california you fucking tard...

  • what hair metal can yeah right i cant think of any good guitarists that came out of the hair metal genre. You only mentioned one hair band that packed arenas.People probably just go to laugh at how stupid they look.If grunge sucked so much then why did it kill hair metal.Fuck hair metal was just gay posers music.Hair metal is extremely dated and looks ridcioulous now. Were as grunge hasnt dated at all.Hair metal will never make a comeback it sucks ass and what new hair metal bands is there.

  • Wow shut the hell up Grunge came out with some of the best music...if you asked a random person about any Grunge band mroe wouldf recognize them then your shitty Hair Metal music wich fucking sucks ass

  • acrtually poison is selling out arena jackass, and probably hair metal; looked gay but u gotta admit it sounded sweet with those riffs and killer solos

  • could have fooled me jackass.I wouldnt pay 10 cents to see them. How embarassing a bunch of old 40 something farts still wearing makeup and lycra.Thats just very gay.Now they didnt sound sweet but grunge did though.Hair metal was just all about looks getting the chicks and money and that was it.Were as grunge was just about the music and not caring what you looked like and making millions out of it.Also grunge muscians are still around but have changed music genres.

  • grunge musos didnt change genres because they werent making money out of it retard. They changed genres because they wanted a different sound.Unlike hair metal which is just the same boring shit that was around 20 or so years ago.Besides people got sick of hair metal because it was boring and shallow music. All it was about was making money, looks and how much hairspray you had in your hair. Also hair metal making a comeback rofl. Its probably some shitty generic hairs like those 70's generic bands.

  • I like Grunge and Hair Metal. It's all good stuff, Motley Crue are a brilliant Hair Metal band. Brilliant band, brilliant song, but i gotta say this band is deeply under rated as an artist. Go Screaming Trees!!!

  • me being an old punk> rocker type kinda guy . first time i ever heard them was with my little bro. who was well into them, an tthe stuff at the time. GRUNGE well was not into that. but what a bad choice :( love trhe trees well underestimated. seen them in glasgow MAGIC outstanding. :):):)

  • actually theres new hair metal bands coming out` retard i dont see any new gunge material coming out

  • Like their gonna make it any where, at least grunge made a lasting impression on music.

  • can name any and you probably mean some old farts from ratt or motley crue or whatever forming new bands and callin it hair metal.

  • Great song by the "fifth" greatest grunge band. Though Shadow of the season is my favorite by them.

*Check Loose Ground for some new Rock/Grunge*

  • BTW Loose Ground I've checked your music and that's some great sound you got there man. I guess grunge isn't dead hum? nice

  • Well whatever. We are all entitled to have our own opinion so I say I like Screaming Trees.

  • gay haha like hair metal wasn't gay with cross dressing fagots. Get it straight from those bands the only good person from them were their guitarists other than that the rest of them sucked their drums were simple the lyrics had no meaning to them

  • Simple lyrics are so misunderstood though....

  • its official hair metal is the gayiest music genre of all time. Those fags must have ransacked there mums make up boxes and stole there hair spray and hair dryers. So they could look like drag queens.FUCKING POOFTERS

  • You're talking shit my friend. I see kids today, none of them have ever seen Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden or Screaming Trees live, digging grunge. But don't see any of them liking that shitty hairmetal music. That was fake as shit, fucking posers, and if anything is dead it's your music. 40 years from now your music will be forgotten and grunge will be alive, pretty much like the beatles, led zepp and the doors are alive in young kids minds. nuff said.

  • This band is cool, it has psychedelic and folk songs combined with grunge. (De-de-de)

  • just asking a question but would u guys say that grunge is dead?

  • its just really funny to hear people getting worked up about 'hair metal'.its just such a funny term.hair metal lol.

    and i'm so downloading this.

  • r u retarded? Hair metal wasnt 3 string dumbass. and besides it ended in 91 or 92,and is still alive by some new hair metal bands that are exploding in sweden and some from the USA gaytard

  • ya 92 cuz grunge wuz mainstream in 1992 and hair metal was still mainstream in 1991 like the whole year because none of the bands became popular enough to kill hair metal untill early 1992 maybe late 1991. but sadly grunge didnt last any long only 1988 or so to 1995 or 1996.

  • yeah poison is still around. You know ur right, hair metal and grunge are good compared to the shit we have today.........

  • oh yer poison are so hugely popular now in fact i even heard 2 people turned up to one of there shows last week

  • IM on dope

    and i hate this

    you suck............

    JKJKJKJKJK

    love the song

  • Grunge is good, and so is hair metal. How stupid some of you fucks are to say a genre of music sucks.

  • Grunge-band elitists here need to realize that the grunge scene supported each other, and didn't rival one another.
