Probably the band of the times besides Nirvana... Especially for the "Seattle sound" of the early 90's. (Grunge is what it was later called. we just called it ours. oh and the flannels!
Grunge doesn't exist. Dopey music critics use it, but back then - as an above poster stated - it was just 'our music' or maybe Seattle Alternative. Grunge was a term used later and included far too many derivative bands (Bush, Candlebox...some other late-comers...products of labels).
This isnt even their good stuff...without a doubt one of the most unknown and underrated bands out of the "grunge" era...Anthropology album is pure genius
I listen to Glenn Beck and, every now and again, hell play that instrumental part from the beginning of the song (and after the end of the chorus) right before he goes to a commercial break. I don't remember when or how I came to find out who the band was or what the name of the song was, but I'm glad I did. It's a pretty cool song.

Mark Lanegan joined QOTSA for a time, had a succesful solo album, and is in the Gutter Twins now. Van Conner has a new rock band last I heard. Lee Conner I think is out of the music business. No clue about Barrett Martin.

There were so much bands that time. And many of them much better than nirvana. An "it" group with 2,3 listenable songs. I hate their hard/soft shift in each song. Boring and predictable. Mudhoney and Alice in Chains in their doom phase rocked rather fierce.. I loved Dinosaur Jr. too. Nirvana came after DJr. Nirvana, honestly... an overassesed group. That's why you'll hear mostly older songs on the radio. This one still plays on the radio pretty regular.
Don't knock Pearl Jam though. They had some very good songs.

grunge was around alot longer than 4 years and it can be traced by to the mid 80's in seatlle with bands like mother love bone and green river.Also there was post grunge which is still around with bands like nickleback and daughtry etc.Hair metal didnt last for 11 years faggot and your the faggot for liking that shit you gay poser.What do you like looking at men in tight paints and makeup faggot.Because thats wat hair metal is.

I like Grunge and Hair Metal. It's all good stuff, Motley Crue are a brilliant Hair Metal band. Brilliant band, brilliant song, but i gotta say this band is deeply under rated as an artist. Go Screaming Trees!!!

ya 92 cuz grunge wuz mainstream in 1992 and hair metal was still mainstream in 1991 like the whole year because none of the bands became popular enough to kill hair metal untill early 1992 maybe late 1991. but sadly grunge didnt last any long only 1988 or so to 1995 or 1996.
