  • Aloha Zachary sound really good. Im totally amazed at what you made of your self. I would like to talk to you about jamming guitar with me and some friends, please call me 852-7314. I want to see you and your sisters

  • Always good to hear your talents Zac. I enjoy hearing this one over & over w/out ever getting tired of it . Good job!

  • As always Zac, you da man. Can't wait for your 1st CD. Very Happy to see Na Opio O Hawaii such as the Abrigo ohana, Danny Carvalho, Makana, and yourself striving to perpetuate the art of slack key. Jus' press Zac and keep posting yor skills. I love watching you over & over. Aloha again. Unko Alika on Molokai.

  • Very impressive skillful and soulful. Loved the quick strums (very difficult to get right like you have done). Favored.

  • @4sonicsanity Thanks, but I had just learned this song and looking back on it, I think I slowed down a bit at parts. Now that I haven't played it in a while, it's probably gotten worse :(

  • Very nice Zack! You're meant to play kihoalu. Hope all is well. \m/ Aloha, Tad.

  • Thanks Tad, hope your slack key is coming along well :)

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! your awesome....this makes me miss home soooo much!!!

  • thanks for the comment. I suppose something that was composed by Gabby can do that to a person. Of course it would sound better if he was the one playing :)

  • Sup Zac, long time no see, this is Tony by the way. Great to see you haven't lost your touch in making great slack key music. Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks Tony, are you going to college?

  • yeah man, i am going to pacific university in forest grove, oregon. how about yourself?

  • Just UH West O'ahu

  • Very nice, when does your break start?

  • end of this week.

  • i like the different sound of the steel strings...really clean

  • It helped that I used a better audio recorder than my camera, otherwise there would be a lot of fuzzy noise.

  • awesome!

  • Thanks Jordan, sorry we never made it to the camping stuff.

  • Ah ha, Zack. You posting music while Auntie is out of town. It was my pleasure to finally meet you (and your grandparents, too). Once again, some beautiful music from one who has taken Ozzie's lessons to heart. A great job.

    Me ke aloha,

    Auntie Wanda

  • Thanks Aunty, it was nice to meet you too, although I don't think I met Uncle Paul. It was good to hear that you got to visit Uncle Ozzie too.

  • bro thats badass.

  • It's only that way because of Uncle Ozzie :)

  • Nice playing cuz

  • Mahalo for the comment

  • Most beautiful steel string version of Ki Ho'alu! A bit different taste from Ozzie's classical guitar version. But so what? This is the Zach's flavor. I like this execution. Your right finger attack looks getting stronger and more expressive in emotional way:-)

  • Thanks Shuji, Uncle Ozzie was telling me I should try to work on the way I attack in the songs :) Seems like its working

  • Like you said "The song title says it all" Nice job on it Zack. You're building a really solid repertorie with some awesome pieces like this one.Not to mention it's another C6th song so it's even more worthwhile to tune to C6th Mauna Loa. Mahalo for sharing.

    Aloha

    Uncle Duke

  • Thanks Uncle, you must've copy/pasted from playhawaiianmusic cuz it's the same comment :)

  • Must be the mispelling of repertoire that sold me out hehehe Actually I meant for the comment to be seen here

  • Hey Zack!

Awesome bro! Can't wait til the next jam with Duke Dem! You sound really good!

    Aloha

    ~Sam~ =)

  • Thanks, I can't wait either, funny that at the kaka'ako I was still working on this :)

  • Great playing Zack.

  • Mahalo, whatever song Uncle Ozzie teaches me next will be the one I post next

  • nice one zack.

  • thanks, you graduated this year yeah?

  • wow very nice.

  • Thanks, it should sound similar learning from the same guy, but I did try to put a little piece that was my own

  • 1: KNOCK KNOCK!

    2: Who's there?

    1: THE NEW GOD!

    2: Oh, what's up Zack?

  • Ok Isaac, I get the picture

  • 1.) Knock Knock

    2.) Who's there?

    1.) Ke

    2.) Ke who?

1.) Ke Akua ki ho'alu kika kahiko ( traditional slack key guitar diety)

2.) Oh wassup Zack you brought your kika?

  • What a way to start the week! :-)

  • Glad I could help :-)

  • Mighty sweet, Zack.

    Fran
