When I try to render out and export my .aec file from C4D, all i see on my file is an exclamation point. I try to import it yet it still doesn't work. I run on a mac and I did install the plugin. Please Help!

@XCrispie Have you got the After Effects CS5 plugin? You can download a plugin for After Effects CS5 / CINEMA 4D R11.5 from the maxon dot net website (go to Downloads / Updates / Plugins). With CINEMA 4D R12, the CS5 plugin is included.

AE says that all these "multicolorimage" files are "place holders". I don't know what it means by that, but hope fully you do. I have been trying to fix this for 5 hours and I'm getting sick and tired of both Ae and C4d!

Ok... here's my problem. When I try this, I actually am able to import "something" into AE. The problem is that the objects that I have imported are represented by these multicolored images (like what you sometimes get on TV when a broadcast is interrupted). Can you help me?

do you have to do that render settings everytime you use it? and i need help because i cant get a video animated to work

@planeboys You can save your render settings to save you having to change everything each time. To do this, set up things how you want them to be then click on the Render Setting... button in the bottom left of the render settings.

Choose Save Preset and enter a name for the preset. You can now grab this preset any time in future from the same Render Setting menu, under Load Preset.

That's one way to do it, there are other various options.

Maxon C4D hey I run through your toutorial and when i drag the ae project on after effects the color of my text isnt there anymore i dont know why its only white and my lights are to far away from the front

i have a problem tho, when i tag my material box with External Compositing Tag [External Compositing] it doesnt give me the option (Solid), so when i import it to AE its not the same size or even place..

im using C4D ver.11 and AE CS5
