Alex, we do a lot of plumbing mods to prevent spills. The carb, for example, drains into a catch-can. The vent line from the main tank has a series of check valves and also terminates into the catch-can. Every few flights, it is necessary to empty the catch can. At the push of a button, a miniature pump transfers the fuel back into the main tank.

What about the motorcycle's fluids? I would think the carb would flood.

Pod (40 lb) + Bike (220 lb) = 270 lb
The RV-10 has enough useful load to carry two adults, full-fuel, pod + motorcycle + over a hundred pounds of bags. When I occassionally need to carry more people, the pod stays at home.

While returning from Sun 'n Fun, I got stuck by low ceilings. I rode the motorcycle into town to find dinner and a hotel. I rode back to the airport in the morning and finished my flight. The motorcyce took a lot of hassle out of my unscheduled stop.
