Many main railroads had full machine shops where they could completely rebuild, modify and improve locomotives. Whether or not the footage is of a backshop or Alco, I don't know. But it is possible that it could be either. I would think that because it is a New Haven video and they are talking about the different aspects and shops at the railroad, that it would be one of the New Haven's shops.
