I though KA-52 is a military surveillance, electronic warfare and combat control helicopter that has good firepower but lacks maneuverability comparing to KA-50. No, the Ka-52 is a two seat side by side version of the Ka-50. It is entering service alongside the Mi-29N. The Ka-52 will also be supplied to the Russian Navy for use aboard the French built Mistral carrier that Russia has purchased...entry date set for 2014/15. You must be thinking of the Ka-29/32 Helix which is as you say a recce helicopter. As far as orders are concerned for the Alligator, I doubt it will be exported but decent orders have been placed by the Russians..

What makes this counter-rotating rotor helicopter is that the helicopter itself is virtually unrestricted movements which most conventional-designed helicopter can't. Without the tail rotor, the helicopter can not only climb higher and go faster, but also can turn tighter.
I've seen so many KA-50s and Mi-28s shot down in Chechnya do they not have flairs or something? or are those Stinger missiles the US provided to the Mujahideen back in the 80s still that good? either way hope this K-52 is a bit better than that.

@19834883 KA52 is does not surpass AH-64D in many parameters - radar range (ES-32 is almost the same but does not exceed Longbow), processing ability (Quad vs single), battle management inter-operability / LINK (KA-52 does not have this), missile guidance & Fire contorl inter-operability (again, AH-64D is only helicopter in the world so far with such capability so far - Eurocopter Tiger will have this by 2014), and of course, Helmet Cueing System that is far ahead of that of KA-52.

@19834883 KA52 is does not surpass AH-64D in many parameters - radar range (ES-32 is almost the same but does not exceed Longbow), processing ability (Quad vs single), battle management inter-operability / LINK (KA-52 does not have this), missile guidance & Fire contorl inter-operability (again, AH-64D is only helicopter in the world so far with such capability so far - Eurocopter Tiger will have this by 2014), and of course, Helmet Cueing System that is far ahead of that of KA-52.

The KA-50 doesn't look even like a military Copter, it looks like a Toy. By the Way, the KA-50 lose the Contest against the Mi28 in Russia.

@19834883 Naah, the Apache has a smaller profile and a helmet controlled cannon. However, the cannon isn't used in a2a combat and the ka52 can carry more missiles.
Compared to the Ka50 the Apache has problems and the same goes for a comparison with mi28.
The problem is that attackhelis don't fight eachother, they leave that to SAMs.

It is much more reliable than AH-64A&D, new lighter Rotors, better armoured, new Electronics, better Avionics, new Radar & more. The new Engines make them faster & can go further. Even if our Military Budget shrunks to 40% we have a bigger than yours. Even Germany had a bigger Budget than Russia in 2010. You'll see in Future the US will rise again

@Russiasuperpower1 USA's military budget (and GDP to back it) is much larger than that of Russia. Russia is currently making money off of its natural resource export, but the export won't last for decades at the same volume as now. It would be best to invest in the economic future, rather than military, which is a never ending cost. We'll have to see in the future whether large numbers of Mi-28 and Ka-52 will be delivered, and how many other helicopters taken out of service.
