Deleting saves wont really do much. There have been plenty of other things you can do to try and fix the frame rate drops, but they are only temporary at best. Just have to hold out until the 1.4 patch and future patches to fix it....

@2101995eu i paid 600euro for a pc in late 07 can play skyrim at 720p max gfx above 90fps all the time, its my server pc now but if i wanted this pc would be good at 1280x720 (which is what consoles use its not true 1080) for another 2-3yrs my latest pc which cost me 900euro this year gets 130fps 1080 with graphics mods and aa, thing about most people spend 600 on a home pc and 400 on ps3 why not combine the two + games on pc are cheaper and have mods.

@Miikatyc -- OK then, I drop to 1280x720 and get over 60 all the time. The difference between 50 and 60 fps is neglible anyway. That's why I stick with 1920x1080.

People one thing I read says to **massively** increase your Skyrim performance is to delete unnecessary saves; If you look in your save files for skyrim, there will be several auto saves. **delete all except the most recent save file** if you could rate this comment up so more people could see it would be appreciated!

I dont trust this video... why the one that has the patch 2.0 doesn't looks so detalied as the one that has the patch 2.01... even the colors looks different... mmm sorry but this is fake, everyone knows that PC version is better than Ps3 and Xbox in graphics... Im not saying that the patch 2.01 does'nt improve the lag issue cause I dont own the game because of that but the game in this video looks extremely different from left to right.

@GameXplorer7191 IT HAS.... I noticed that on my uncle's comp with 1 gb ram it starts lagging after like 30 minutes of playing straight, while comp with 4 gigs doesn't give any lags at all. Note: both comps have almost same graphics card, uncle's has gt 430, my has gt 440...

@OpenGLSecond You have no idea what you're talking about. You can't compare the RAM of a PC running WIndows, which uses a virtual memory management system (writing memory content on disc when getting low on RAM) with the RAM of a Console., which is fixed. In the consoles it is up to the game to manage the memory. If there isn't enough, the game would stop running. The point is that Bethesda has a crappy game engine. And instead of throwing it away they keep trying fixing it.

Because it only happens pre patch and and only if you use up all your memory either from save games or what ever else. If you dont play long periods of time and keep your HS tidy, and patched up, your inlikely to experience this. If youd just do that clean data thing on your memory panel, i dont own PS3 so cant help anymore, but you can get tips from helpful ps3 videos, rather than ones that just spread propaganda ( talking about caseyPSX not this vid, this was ok).

Such a shame,I knew this was going to happen,sadly Bethesda can't make a working PS3 game. Paradoxically Skyrim is the best and worst game I have ever played! The content and concept is A* but the game gets dragged down by unforgivable lag and bugs that even break main quests!

While quest bugs may be fixed with future patches(while probably adding new ones!) the unplayable lag will lot, I fear they will go down the same disgraceful route that Obsidian did with Fallout NV!

I bet they will try the same lazy method Obsidian did with Fallout NV i.e removing actual content such as enemies and npc's from the core PS3 game! in a vain attempt to free memory and thus delay the lag + to make room for the DLC's.

It still leaves a bad taste in my mouth that if I check my Fallout NV guide it shows things that are no longer included in the PS3 version but are in the X-box 360 an PC ones!If they do this with Skyrim then they should lower the price to reflect this

Come on Bethesda. Get help from Sony or make a new engine. I understand the PS3 is a pain sometimes but other devs can make games that look good and run at a solid 60fps. A solid 30 is fine for me. Is it that hard?

This is why I still don't have this game. Like past Bethesda games, I waited for a GOTY or Complete version (with all dlc) before buying it as most bugs woud be fixed by then. Will be buying the 360 version though as the last good Bethesda game on PS3 was Oblivion.
