In a way, this trailer sums up the sonic franchise, sonic having a good time running around the gets interupted by bad game aspects (the robots) then finally being killed (sonic 06) and being brought back to life (somewhat in sonic colors and generations)
The Idea of super sonic should have been left in, Scripted loops, bad physics engine, bad story, the game being rushed and Meg Griffin's voice actor should have been left out!
@CyberLance26 The Idea for the story was awesome, but the way they presented it made it horrible. Seriously, do we need necrofelia and beastiality within the same cutscene? And for that matter, why is the theme of deep, emotional romance in the game. Besides, the reason that they aren't trying anymore is probably because they want to keep the player as sonic, rather than characters that control like him but have special abilities (Tails flies, knucles can glide and climb walls)

And people kiss loved ones after they die often in movies, books and other stuff as a way to say good bye or i love you so it does not make it necrofelia.
Also theres no reason why they cant still make great storys in new games only because you only play as Sonic.

I played the game, but i personally hate when Elise makes out with sonic(uck), but I also think sonic should have had at LEAST 3 boss encounters or story encounters with mephiles instead of that split second one where mephiles stabs sonic through the back(actually I was glad for some more killy violence ever since shadow the hedgehog came out)

You've got it backwards. The PS3 version has longer loading times, more glitches, the glitches occur more frequently, the the framerate is much worse, and there is no Team Attack Amigo DLC in the PS3 version. The PS3 version of Unleashed has longer load times, slightly duller graphics, and only has actually smooth framerate in Holoska. I have both versions for both games so I know what I'm talking about.

There is no paradox. The only supposed plot hole is the Elise being given the Blue Chaos Emerald and if you consider that a plothole then you don't know how time travel works. When an object is taken out of it's time period and brought to another, a replica of sorts is created to fill the gap it created. Meaning that until the end of 06 there have always been two Blue Choas Emeralds, One with Elise, and one whenever Sonic goes Super.
@pkstarstorm1up That's not what I meant when it should have been called "time paradox." I just meant that this game's title should have had something more to do with warping time than the original blue blur debut. After all, the game's plot centralizes around time: the villain wants to destroy time, the heroes travel all over time and even influence it, and the end of the game erases the time of this game. There's really no paradox at all when you think about it.
This game's plot is the best out of all of the Sonic games, much better than Sonic 1's, The games are better having a multiple variety of characters because it adds replay value, Sonic 1 wasn't that fast either you know. It takes forever to become skilled enough to go fast and even then that only is possible in three out of the six levels. This game is one of the best 3D game and is much better than Sonic 1 despite it's problems.
@pkstarstorm1up I wasn't dogging the plot; actually, I like it for the most part, aside from the Sonic-El*se thing (urk). But the thing about this game that remains unchallenged in excellent quality and unsurpassable greatness is the music: some of the best, if not the best, music in the series.
I don't get why everyone hates this game. Everyone nitpicks it. "Oh, Sonic kissed Elise" and "Oh, the controls are sucky." Well, everything besides that is good! The music is so epic, i listen to it almost everyday, the story is very creative and clever, and the gameplay can be fun sometimes, and hey it's partially our fault the game sucks. Casue we demanded a good Next-Gen game fast, so they rushed through this sorta. So everyone, STOP COMPLAINING!

It was removed because Microsoft threatened to terminate Sega's contract with them if the game wasn't released by November 2006 instead of the planned December 2007 release date. Sega had to crack down on Sonic Team to release the game by then and for a while it looked like the game would have still been great. But Yuji Naka (The main programmer for the game) abandoned Sonic Team halfway through development time to create his own company (Which hasn't been sucessful! That's what he get's!:D) so
@Pimpslapdude Sonic Team had to unfortunetly take out many of the cool features that would have been in the game. An example would be the Rainbow Gem and the Unused Ring Gamplay Mechanic where the more Rings Sonic collected the faster his top running speed would become. This game would have been a true sequel to Sonic Adventure 2 if it wasn't for Microsoft and Yuji Naka.
Go to Sonic Cult and watch the E3 2006 Gameplay Demo's for Sonic and Silver. You'll see how much better that version was. That was how the game was going to turn out like if they had had enough time to make all of the levels like that. But since they didn't Sonic Team had to release an Earlier Beta version of the game with lot's of Slowdown, bad loading times, a somewhat uncooperative camera, and glitches galore (all though to be truthful only 25% of the glitches occur on the game's fault.
@Pimpslapdude But still I enjoy this game very much for what it was meant to be and it is still very fun once you know how to avoid the prickly areas. In fact the only story (Gameplay wise) that I don't really enjoy is Shadow's story because his has the most glitches and framerate issues out of all three of the stories. Plus Both him and Omega are Broken Beyond belief while Rouge is pretty fun as long as you're careful not to cling onto certain walls.
SONIC 06 WAS BEAST I NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY BUGS EXCEPT THAT BOX GLITCH IN TOWN (you had to do the spin kick on top) so yeah i thought this game was awesome
To everyone who thought this game sucked, I hate to break it to you but not every sonic game can be a remake of the "good-old" sonic adventure or classic sonic games. Now and then Sega and Sonic Team actually have stories with multiple characters and themes and deeper meanings, and actually make something new. Okay so maybe Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog took some focus away from sonic, but 06 definitely fixed that and besides the finicky camera that was in other games too, 06 was fun to play.
@ICEman714941 No, 06 just plain sucked with game play issues for all playable characters, bugs, glitched, the camera (though it's up and down in my opinion), loading times, the story sucked hard, and this is coming from a huge Sonic fan (don't mind the icon, I'm just too lazy to change it), and all I can say that is good from the game is the music, the good CGi cut scenes (the bad ones use the game models), and that the ending of 06 made itself non-canon.
@jefffox1012 If they would do that it wouldnt be sonic 06. Lets say the game was finished. Would the gameplay be different? Most likely not. Sure, we'd get more powerups, less glitches, and all the things planned, but that would only make it a bit more tolerable. They might not of even thought anything was wrong with the level design to begin with. The only way to improve sonic 06 is to go back to the drawing board, and start all over.

The PS3 version has longer loading times, more glitches, the glitches occur more frequently, the the framerate is much worse, and there is no Team Attack Amigo DLC in the PS3 version. The PS3 version of Unleashed has longer load times, slightly duller graphics, and only has actually smooth framerate in Holoska. I have both versions for both games so I know what I'm talking about.

@sonicdahedgehogfan1 Why the trailers not bad,the game is,it could have been good but they wanted to get it out before Christmas and didn't finish it,this cause several glitches, a lot in basic gameplay so they come up all the freakin time,and I think the retarded loading screens every 10 seconds too,if not they probably would've fixed it. This game should not have been called "Sonic the Hedgehog;" it should have been called Sonic: Time Paradox.
Sonic the Hedgehog had almost no plot; this one has three, and it warps all over time.
Sonic had one playable character; this one has 9 (12 if you count the supers)
Sonic was devoured; this one was barfed.
Sonic was fast; this one was not so much.

There is no paradox. The only supposed plot hole is the Elise being given the Blue Chaos Emerald and if you consider that a plothole then you don't know how time travel works. When an object is taken out of it's time period and brought to another, a replica of sorts is created to fill the gap it created. Meaning that until the end of 06 there have always been two Blue Choas Emeralds, One with Elise, and one whenever Sonic goes Super.

I just meant that this game's title should have had something more to do with warping time than the original blue blur debut. After all, the game's plot centralizes around time: the villain wants to destroy time, the heroes travel all over time and even influence it, and the end of the game erases the time of this game. There's really no paradox at all when you think about it.

This game's plot is the best out of all of the Sonic games, much better than Sonic 1's, The games are better having a multiple variety of characters because it adds replay value, Sonic 1 wasn't that fast either you know. It takes forever to become skilled enough to go fast and even then that only is possible in three out of the six levels. This game is one of the best 3D game and is much better than Sonic 1 despite it's problems.

I don't get why everyone hates this game. Everyone nitpicks it. "Oh, Sonic kissed Elise" and "Oh, the controls are sucky." Well, everything besides that is good! The music is so epic, i listen to it almost everyday, the story is very creative and clever, and the gameplay can be fun sometimes, and hey it's partially our fault the game sucks. Casue we demanded a good Next-Gen game fast, so they rushed through this sorta. So everyone, STOP COMPLAINING!

It was removed because Microsoft threatened to terminate Sega's contract with them if the game wasn't released by November 2006 instead of the planned December 2007 release date. Sega had to crack down on Sonic Team to release the game by then and for a while it looked like the game would have still been great. But Yuji Naka (The main programmer for the game) abandoned Sonic Team halfway through development time to create his own company (Which hasn't been sucessful! That's what he get's!:D) so

@Pimpslapdude Sonic Team had to unfortunetly take out many of the cool features that would have been in the game. An example would be the Rainbow Gem and the Unused Ring Gamplay Mechanic where the more Rings Sonic collected the faster his top running speed would become. This game would have been a true sequel to Sonic Adventure 2 if it wasn't for Microsoft and Yuji Naka.

Go to Sonic Cult and watch the E3 2006 Gameplay Demo's for Sonic and Silver. You'll see how much better that version was. That was how the game was going to turn out like if they had had enough time to make all of the levels like that. But since they didn't Sonic Team had to release an Earlier Beta version of the game with lot's of Slowdown, bad loading times, a somewhat uncooperative camera, and glitches galore (all though to be truthful only 25% of the glitches occur on the game's fault.

@Pimpslapdude But still I enjoy this game very much for what it was meant to be and it is still very fun once you know how to avoid the prickly areas. In fact the only story (Gameplay wise) that I don't really enjoy is Shadow's story because his has the most glitches and framerate issues out of all three of the stories. Plus Both him and Omega are Broken Beyond belief while Rouge is pretty fun as long as you're careful not to cling onto certain walls.

To everyone who thought this game sucked, I hate to break it to you but not every sonic game can be a remake of the "good-old" sonic adventure or classic sonic games. Now and then Sega and Sonic Team actually have stories with multiple characters and themes and deeper meanings, and actually make something new. Okay so maybe Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog took some focus away from sonic, but 06 definitely fixed that and besides the finicky camera that was in other games too, 06 was fun to play.

@ICEman714941 No, 06 just plain sucked with game play issues for all playable characters, bugs, glitched, the camera (though it's up and down in my opinion), loading times, the story sucked hard, and this is coming from a huge Sonic fan (don't mind the icon, I'm just too lazy to change it), and all I can say that is good from the game is the music, the good CGi cut scenes (the bad ones use the game models), and that the ending of 06 made itself non-canon.

@jefffox1012 If they would do that it wouldnt be sonic 06. Lets say the game was finished. Would the gameplay be different? Most likely not. Sure, we'd get more powerups, less glitches, and all the things planned, but that would only make it a bit more tolerable. They might not of even thought anything was wrong with the level design to begin with. The only way to improve sonic 06 is to go back to the drawing board, and start all over.

This MIGHT COULD have happened! It could have been AMAZING. But Sega was rushed by Sony and Microsoft. It's THERE FAULT this game is the way it is. The game was originally going to come out in 2007 with stories for ALL OF THE CHARECTERS, a Gem that let you go SUPER, and,(seeing that it had longer development) Better, Tighter controls. But it was all taken out, due to rushed development. So, don't blame Sega.
