@quapolarity If you see Speed, then you're either using an old Renoise and should upgrade, or you've loaded an old song and should look under the "Song Settings" tab for the upgrade button.

Old school fastracker 2 user back when I was a tennager making Hardcore, Ambient and Chip tunes. Wanted to give line sequencing a go again so Probably will give this a go. Voice is a bit too soft. Can't hear what ur saying while music is playing. This may sound silly, but what button do u push to put sounds on the line. Can I use my Korg USB Keyboard controller and/or is it like fastracker where the letter keys tpye in the notes at different pitches?

@oldschooldude2 Try pressing the [Enter] key on the number pad area of your keyboard. This will toggle block loop. Is that what you are talking about?

Yes. Renoise is very MIDI capable. Hardware can be used quite easily. Cheers.

so when u clone a pattern for example "second" in this video, the cloned ones will reflect all the subsequent changes made to the original?

No, a clone is a new pattern that copies the data from the previous. It saves you the trouble of cutting and pasting.

In the video, the sequence of pattens I create is: 0,1,0,1

It's the numbers are the important part, not the word clone. If I modify pattern #1, then both #1 will be affected.

Depends if your instrument is polyphonic or not. Toggle the Chord-button to ON for good measure.

Maybe you have "Capture Nearest Instrument" turned on by accident? In the upper left, make sure there's no checkmark in "Capture Instr."

Renoise has export facilities and ReWire. You can use it *at the same time* as Cubase, Ableton live, Pro tools, Reason, Logic, whatever.

If you know trackers from back in the day, check the example songs that come with Renoise. You might be surprised at how far things have come.
