being from Ireland , i dont know much about the war , US media is heavily censored
over here ,
just wont to thank all the US service men and women for the great job you guys are doing and that people from all over the globe appreciate the sacrifice made by all of you guys , to keep even the small country's safe from terror .
*sigh* rick810....your a sorry sorry dude....I served in the NZ army as a regular and I'm still a member of the reserves....I don't know what your issue is. I don't know what its like to be trapped on a floating island in the sea...but what's the difference between that...and on the ground in East Timor? It's still a world away from home. I'm sorry you're bitter...but could you work through your problems silently? I like this video and your comments kinda ruined it.... stfu
Oh stop being such a victim...if you dont like my comments, you have the power to not read them. give me a break.
I am glad you served and it sounds like you had a great time - I had a good time but I am sorry - I have found only a handful of Senior enlisted that were actually worth anything. You can get mad, upset, whatever. but it is the truth. I had a great time with my friends, I still keep in contact with many, the officers never bothered me. But my CHIEFS were fucking disgraceful
VERY MATURE - I cannot believe the negative comments I get for speaking the truth about that fucked up boat called the NIMITZ. Get a life. I spent 4.5 years on that floating box of shit. I used to say this while I was on it
GENIUS MEN AND WOMEN DESIGNED THIS SHIP SO ABSOLUTE IDIOTS COULD RUN IT. AND I SWEAR ITS TRUE
And my father was an FC1 and LPO of the Port-Bow RAM and the Starboard-Aft RAM launchers he had to sand the rust down, greese, trouble-shoot, and maintain both of them. While Taking watch and helping maintain a duty section. You did what? I don't want to assume.
No not even close and I will never give my last name to you for our safety. You really need to take a chill pill and stop slandering a ship that you have issues with that are almost 3 years old. I don't care if you were on the ship for 4.5 years that has nothing to do with anything. You seem like your just pissed for not gaining rank like your fellow guards or you just have bypolar disorder. Either way you really need to stop ranting and raving because no one cares about you only the Nimitz.
My dad wwas on that ship for 2 years then retired shortly before the 2007 deployment, the funny thing is thenew captain looks alot like him or so we were told by a SC and the XO lol. Hooyah Nimitz crew keep up the damn fine work!!!
I was on that floating piece of crap for 4 years of my life...I am glad you all think its such a wonderful place to be. The Navy's senior enlisted are absolute garbage, ie. E-7 and up.
Wow someone has some issues because he kissed ass and failed to gain rank.... FYI kissing ass is another way to say sucking up your not supposed to literaly do it.
are you serious? Did you really just write that? What have you done as far as serving in the military? Dont judge those who actually signed on the line. I did five years, made E-5 in two years, and knew right after I got on the Nimitz, the Navy was not for me. I know you meant to be a smartass with your reply, but seriously, dont be ignorant.
Well you are the dumbass who volunteered and signed the papers. What did you think military life was going to be like? Did you honestly think it would be like the movies?
Ok whatever. My dad was in the navy as well, World War II, he said except for the small occasions of racism from officers he had no other problems. Served on the USS Hancock and then the USS Bairoko. I don't know what you did that fucked up your experience but hey, it was you choice.
I mean only a person who sees things in such a way could only use the term "navy brat"
you think its all about making rank and kissing ass. it is so funny because that is exactly the kind of shit I was disguisted about. Everyone on that floating piece of shit would cut eachothers throat just to get ahead. It is that kind of behavior that made me want to get out. I mean really, we are all civilians and none of really care about those who serve, so who cares?
Wow you replied to a post that is almost a year old holy crap. Don't call the ship a piece of shit call the section you worked in that kind of stuff. If you have a personal issue with a PERSON don't bag on the ship. My Question is did you getr out on Honorable discharge or did you get booted out for not doing your job?. Now that isn't a stab at you it's a question so don't bite my head off please.
I think being stationed on that shit boat NIMITZ for 4.5 years, entitles me the power to call the ship a piece of shit. Sorry you loved it. I WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGD DECEMBER 05. I did my job never got into trouble and was disguisted by the behavior of the senior enlisted. Those "lifers" need a life. They have no sense of family and only care about the same navy that doesnt really give a shit about them. The politics were horrible. That is what made the ship a piece of shit. The smallmindednes
Rick810 I know exactly where your coming from. I am 30 days away from getting out. I have seen people cut each other down to get ahead and yes you are right most of the senior enlisted need to get a life. In the other hand I have met good people, of course all E5 and below. I would not recommend anyone to join as enlistede becasue you do get shit on even if you are shit hot. So, some people like it others don't. I have also been on the Nimitz and the boat being on the boat sucks and it's boring.
Thank you Charlie. This idiot, Navybrat wants to somehow tell me that my experience on that shithole shouldve been better. F her. She's an ignorant pig.
Only those who were there can really understand how that piece of shit was. I was there when that scumbag Master Chief Penton was there in 05. He was a terrible example of a human being. Calleous, Unempathetic to anyone, self-serving, Pathetic, just Plain Nasty and a complete show-boater.
Thank you for posting this. I was unable to make it down to San Diego to watch the departure. It's nice to see something like this, and see people that are going through the same thing you are. We're almost done!!!! Yay!!!!! Hope the deployment has gone well for you, it's difficult, but such is life as a navy wife..and in this case, husband. Have a great day!!
My father left today on the Nimitz there were a lot of tears. I am grateful though, we were really lucky because we got to go to the deck and wave goodbye.
