  • just met him at a local bar and he signed autographs. hes a pretty damn nice dude

  • wouldve won the heisman if he stayed his final year

  • what speed

  • @GhettoSupaHero

Yes, but as we all know it takes more than talent to make it in the nfl. It also helps being in the right scheme. Ex., in the '89 draft, GB Coach Lindy Infante, really wanted Barry Sanders. Not only cos he was a once in a decade rb, but also cos he would've fit his offensive scheme MUCH better than Darrell Thompson & Brent Fullwood did. As we all know, GM Tom Braatz chose a OT who couldn't pass block, who was on roids & who was a headcase instead......

  • .............Of course it was because of that huge blunder & a bad team that Braatz & Infante were fired after the '91 season (Braatz was fired w/a few games left in the season) & Bob Harlan hired ron Wolf who hired Mike Holmgren & then traded a 1st round pick for Favre & then signed White, Sean Jones, etc.....

/It's too bad Wolf was a failure @ drafting in the 1st round during his stay in GB.

//Still can't believe Holmgren traded Green for CB/Fred Vinson....every great rb fumbles.

  • @GhettoSupaHero

    Ahman was younger than Phillips.

  • Packers should have kept him

  • Welcome to Montreal!

  • the only thing that confuses me is why he was picked up in the 3rd round. I'd would have had him as a top 10 pick. Shit if in these days and ages he'd definatly been a top 10 pick

  • @Mr420woo I'm guessing that Lawrence Phillips being such a bust had a lot to do with it.

  • @Mr420woo

Neb. (& option backs) had had a long history of great backs being busts in the nfl (mike rozier, jarvis redwine, lawrence phillips, johnny rodgers, i.m. hipp, calvin jones, etc...), just like wr's from florida & rb's from penn. st. Scouts also thought that Green was more of a "straight-ahead" runner, in the mold of LeShon Johnson & Darrell Thompson, who were also great college rb's but busts in the nfl. That's why Green fell in the draft even though he had sub 4.3 speed, etc...

  • @GhettoSupaHero Im sorry to say but LP was better than Ahman Green. LP just got into too much trouble to become a somebody in the nfl

  • SO FAST

  • Ahman Green is a great football player.

  • 1:50 sooo badass

  • Green was a beast in his hay day when favre was still with the team. I remember him running around, over, under, through people. He really used to be special.

  • Ahman is my favorite player of all time by farrrrrrrrrr

  • i met him today, no big deal

  • Great Video with awesome song.

  • Top 1 or 2 best running backs in Nebraska history PERIOD, can't get much better...brings back memories.

  • @Apocalypz26 I played with him (or against him, I was on defense) He was probably the best......his only problem was he played at the same time with 3 other I-backs that probably could have started anywhere in D-IA......Damon Benning, Jay Sims, Lawrence Philips, Corell Buckhalter.....plus Tommie Frazier's running game......and great fullbacks Cory Schlesenger and Joel Mackovica.......

  • This guy ran with reckless abandon strong upper body strong lower body great balance what was seattle thinking would u rather have him or alexander? ok I gotta give alexander credit he wasnt bad either everybody hates a running back that fumbles but when you play like he did it's hard not to look a peterson his never quit power additude puts out fumbles

  • I love his no BS style of running. Head to the line where the hole should be, keep it straight or make one cut and just go. Perfect angles, no wasted movement, no loss of momentum and already trucking at the point where the linebackers hope to meet him.

  • And now, he's back where he belongs, running with the Packers. Lets hope him and Grant can help out Rodgers a bit!

  • Dope video and song.

  • 58 seconds. great lead block

  • it's really unbelievable we couldn't make it out of the divisional round with him on our team

  • ahman is great and will be a huge threat to the opposing teams and that's for sure. but the question is, can the Packers O-line do what they did for him in 2003? although they have both of their offensive tackles back, the inside will be a weak spot.

  • Not unless they bring back Mike Wahle, Marco Rivera, and Mike Flanagan he won't. The Packers O-Line is atrocious, but the real thing that is killing the running game is that stupid zone blocking scheme. The Packers need to go back to the Power-O style of rushing.

  • true that! they already have tauscher back. They just need those other lineman back. Just imagine Aaron Rodgers with the receivers he has and an amazing line. FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK!

  • Well I guess bringing back Ahman Green woke up Ryan Grant because he rushed for 148 today. It's good to have competition.

  • He needs 46 yards to become all time leading rusher in Packer history. This pickup for the Pack should be very helpful going into the second half of the season.

  • great song, great back, great video

ahman is way underrated, the stats he put up with the packers are ridiculous when you consider how often they passed the ball, glad to see him back

  • hes signing with GreenBay again :D

  • better than grant will ever be

  • what was his .40?

  • haha lik 4.2 dude no lie

  • 4.19

  • The Nebraska I-backs are the best ever in college football. . . . . . Roger Craig, Tom Rathman, Mike Rozier, Lawrence Phillips, Ahman Green and so forth.

  • Hall of fame?

  • Prolly, he's only about 1,000 yards away from 10,000 century mark.

  • yea he has 5 pro bowls and would run over defenders

  • This dude was biiiggg in college. He looks like a micheal turner from the NFL in college football.

  • I remember watching him play for nebraska. One of the few players that could make 80,000+ people hold their breath everytime he touched the ball

  • I wasn't an NU fan, but I enjoyed watching Green play in college. Size, speed, power, vision, elusiveness, hands. He had it all at RB.

  • this nigga mad nice

  • The directions...

run hard, don't be afraid to get hit, stay on your feet (if possible), be tougher than everyone else...

    Rinse and repeat...every play.

    Omaha bred...go big red!

  • Lawrence Phillips was better than Ahman Green in college

Ahman Green was better than Lawrence Phillips in the NFL

  • Lawrence Phillips was a bust (THE BIGGESTone in NFL history) he had TOO MANY off-field problems, he's one of the "coudve been" greats

  • Comment removed

  • so what? He was a stud in his college days. The problem was that he got into too much trouble with the law. Shit he's in prison right now.

  • I know he was a trouble-maker, But the NFL labeled him a NFL (the only reason)...thats how I leraned about him and i googled him before i never heard of him, and i was impressed and watched his highlights from Nebraska....i was like DAMN

  • in my opinion lawrence phillips was better than ahman green. he had better agility. but green had a better NFL career. but it dont matter for me cuz phillips was better in college

  • From what I saw in college, if he didnt get in trouble... Phillips couldve been th erecord books

  • yeah Phillips was out most of the year in 1995. Green took over untill the national championship

  • He was sick on the packers other than his fumbling problem had the best stiff arm ive seen other that sweetness'

  • green is a homeboy i got ticketz to watch huskers and packers every year 2 best teams

  • Damn the F'N sucks I hope he's a Packer again insted of that Greedy bitch Ryan Grant who wanted more money and did not do shit for Green bay this year with only 3 fucking touchdowns!!!

Ahamn was the best running back we had ever yes even better than Juim taylor Ahman had fumbleing problems but quickly fixed it.

3-4 1000 yard seasons over 50 touchdowns man should got a super bowl in 2003!

The Pack's big three was Brett, Ahamn, and Driver

  • forever a packer

  • dude ahman owns! shame he sucks ass now though lol

  • I wouldn't say he sucks ass now, he's just beat to shit. He'll still get 4 or 5 yards a pop when he's healthy, but he can't ever manage to stay healthy.

Sucks, too. I think with a couple more 1,000-yard seasons he'd be a legit hall of fame candidate.

  • damn ahman disappeared of the face of the earth he was one of the top 5 running backs in the nfl when he was with green bay come to think of it there offense was probaly the best in the nfl next to indianapolis during those years they didnt win any championships in those years in my opinion cuz ahman and brett favre would turn the ball over at such costly times and there defense didnt really get a whole lot of turnovers...

  • i think ahman coaches somewhere now but im not sure

  • yah, they shoulda won a superbowl with ahman, he was a packer great and i will always remember the years he had at GB. i really think brett and him should have won 2 SB's. if you look at numbers, ahman was the league leading rusher over a 5 year period i think but was under the radar cuz of some other guys.

  • GO BIG RED!

  • yo green da man no matter what hes one of the greatest go huskers comin out o gretna baby

  • is he still playing for the Texans in the NFL or did they release him?

  • he got released on madden and is in the free agents so i guess they did

  • Green was great!!! but phillips was better.GO HUSKERS!!!

  • those couple great years he had in green bay, there was no one better.

  • I beleive he did win a heisman. maybe not but hes def better than lawrence philips.

  • Nah he didn't win one. He was kind of in Ricky Williams' shadow in the Big XII in terms of running backs. Ended up dropping to the third round of the 1998 Draft for whatever unknown reason (had a great career, but I think Lawrence Phillips and the lack of success by NU backs in the recent years affected is stock).

  • he didnt win the heisman

and lawrence phillips was better in my opinion

    but amahn gren was amazing

  • @moffo0101 i am a huge ahman green fan, but im not going to lie to myself, philips WAS better at nebraska than green, not in the pros, but at nebraska

  • The University Of Nebraska always says Ahmen Green is better then Lawrence Phillips. I say no way!!!

  • Nearly as fast and way more powerful than reggie bush.

  • why didn't he win da hiesman?

  • He only played 3 years his 3rd year 1997 heisman went to Charles Woodson. His first year he was backup, second year he was hurt. Maybe if he played his 4th year he would have won it.

  • how didnt he win heisman?

  • One Man called Lawrence Phillips SPLIT THE CARRIES!!! :(

  • for one year, that was his freshman year and lawrence only played five games shut the fuck up.

  • ahman green got drafted to the packers in like 03 didnt he?

  • lol, try 1998.

  • he wasnt drafted by the packers...they traded for him and they got him from the seahawks

  • Ahman made losing Lawrence Philips easy his freshman season...it wouldve been nice 2 see em play an entire season together...the gators definitely got a taste in the Fiesta Bowl...Geaux Tigers!

  • 4.2 40 yard dash. and size. he's a beast

  • lol try 4.0

  • here come da Texans LOOKout superbowl, here we come

  • whose that FB, n did he go pro?

  • Joel Makovicka, one of the greatest fullbacks to ever play at NU. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 1999 draft by the Cardinals and played in Arizona for four years.

  • This mans time in Green Bay helped to extend Favre's career.

  • fuck all u all this nigga is a beast

  • Green was good, but he FUMBLES too much! If he didn't fumble 10 times a season, he'd still be getting 1,000 yard seasons.

  • I don't think that's his problem. He just can't stay healthy. And he never had more than 5 lost fumbles a year, or 7 total. He had 20 fumbles over his best 5 years (his worst as far as fumbles go). 4 per year isn't awful.

  • great block at 0:58

  • its funny both ahman green and brandon jackson went to nebraska and they were both on GB

  • hot video, good music choice...classic

  • Always annoyed me that he got caught from behind on that 64-yard run against Colorado in '97. Great running back, though.

  • "Always annoyed me that he got caught from behind on that 64-yard run against Colorado in '97. Great running back, though. "

At least he got caught by ben kelly, the men's100 meter ncaa champion sprinter that year.

  • man, at 1:05, that was soooo close for frazier.

  • was a stud 4 green bay. still luv him even tho hes with the texans. i hate 2 say it but his football days r fading away. i miss him as a packer. GO PACK!

  • ahman ran the 40 in a 4.18,it sucked that he left GB and they need to put his speed higher than a 90

  • the one play had excellent block work by the fullback, the entire online is awsome. they really helped ahman out alot

  • awesome highlights, thx. Love Ahman.

Should be a hall of famer if not for the nagging injuries.

  • the music is annoying, we really only need sounds of football you know.

  • SIKE...thats classic hip hop. and its a good music choice

  • Ahman and Frazier were the best when they played together!!

They the best in my book

  • it sux he jus cant stay healthy, I wish greeny bay never let him go.

  • reggie bush?? adrian peterson?? u serious? yeah yeah they were good...but wouldnt be where they're at today if they didnt have 2 running backs like AHMAN GREEN and LAWERENCE PHILLIPS to watch grow'n up.. now those 2 husker running backs were the TRUE bad boys of running backs...prove me wrong? didnt think so....no one produced backs like NEBRASKA. GO HUSKERS !!!

  • mean song bro

  • what an underrated running back. The dude is amazing.

  • He's not underrated, hes pro. He played for the Packers for a couple years. Now hes a free agent.

  • was he playin in stanford

  • opps my bad

  • name of the song?

  • the world is yours by nas

  • reminds me of bo jackson

  • how? ahmad is an elusive player while bo went out of his way to run people over

  • what song is this

  • The World is Yours- Nas- on the album Illmatic 1994

  • 1:48-2:10 Green broke or juked out or ran by 8 tacklers.

  • Maybe if he was injury and fumble prone he could've been a top five RB in the NFL of all time.

  • Comparing this video to Brandon Jackson's video, Ahman Green is a better running back. he's faster, stonger, and bigger. Packers shouldn't have let him go.

  • I don't know how you can even compare the two. For one, this is a career highlight reel, with Ahman's best runs of his 3-year Nebraska career. B.Jax's highlights are only from his junior year. Also, Ahman was in a different system, with those mid-90s Nebraska O-Lines, which are quite possibly the best that college football has ever seen. B.Jax shared time with 3 other backs behind a decent (at best) offensive line in a West Coast system. We'll see how B.Jax does in Green Bay.

  • Honestly I don't know much about College Football. You probably have a point but look at how Ahman Green break those tackles and how he make his cuts and how he jukes people. All I see with Brandon Jackson's running is him running through big holes. And when Brandon tries to juke defenders he can't guit do it like Ahman and gets tackled. Also look how Ahman explodes through them holes and out run them defenders. But hey like you said we'll just have to see how Brandon does.

  • Ahman was ridiculous. That's a pretty high standard you're holding him to.

  • nice song wats it called

  • Nas-the world is yours. this a single from the greates hip hop cd ever "illmatic".. I invite you to listen to more of illmatic it's by far the bes hip hop album of all time. 1. the world is yours 2. one love 3. lifes a bitck 4.memory lane hell there all good lol cheak it out

  • green is a beast is my favorite player and should've stayedat Greenbay

  • Ahman Green, Matt Schaub, Mario Williams, Dunta Robinson, Demeco Ryans and with my fav Andre Johnson the Houston Texans will surprise;)

  • You can't forget my man Samkon

  • Great running back. Great video. Great music selection.

  • Green should go back to green bay

  • If he would've stayed with Seattle and ran with the best O-line in the league for 10 yrs he would have easily had 13,000 plus yds after watching what a turtltle in Shaun Alxander could do there. Stupid Mike Holmgren, I guess 106 yds on 6 carries isn't good enough for a rookie's first game.

  • Great running back......2nd best Husker ever.....LP was the only one ever better.

  • 3rd, rozier was the best, he had the higest average per carry in the ncaa for a season, till sanders beat it.

  • If Green would have played his senoir year he would have torn it up and set a bunch of NCAA records, so its not a fait comparison. He wasn't the athlete taht LP was but he is one of the smartest patient running backs ther are.

  • I agree, I guess when they at that level it's like apples and oranges.green did have a higher rush average in his junior year than ricky willaims in his senior year.

  • Ya man if Green would have came back his Senoir year he would have made Williams look like a bitch.

  • thank God green never wore a wedding dress

    :/

    texas sucks

  • ahman green=fumble man

  • Get your stats correct....he averages less then many other RB's in the NFL hall of fame....not to mention less per year than most in the NFL.

  • if I remember right he averaged about 7.9 per carry at NU

  • Damp yo these guys PERFECTLY execute toss and option plays. Making look too eazy.

  • Im gonna miss him on the Pack.

  • He is the mos athletic RB of all-time. 4.29 40 yd dash, and 39 inch vert with great power.

  • Thanks oviedol see you on HI

  • I had no idea he was such a gamebreaker at Neb!!

  • 2nd fastest husker ever,he said the reason he wasen't the fastest is because he slipped.

  • Him and phillips were, and continue to be in their own league..Dam our line use to just kill people!!!!

  • looks like he's playin against highschool kids
