yea i remember being at a party in an apartment in Hells Kitchen near Times Square and u can look out and see where the Twin Towers used to stand and when the ball dropped we all just started crying because we lost a lot of people that wasnt there to see this new year and thinking about kids who lost their parents and loved ones i remember a friend wisper to me "WE MADE IT" cuz it could have easily been US in that tower had they attcked 1 more hour later

2002 . . . I remember this New Years eve vividly. We went to the "holidome" hotel. They have a special new years eve package and a big carnival type thing. They have several of these hotels across the country. I remember people dropped balloons over the balconies and we did party poppers. Some parts 02 were good and others were bad. I was almost 13 and a major geek going into 8th grade. Also this new years was sad because of the 9-11 tragedies and also my great uncle had just died.

I think that the reason Dick Clark chose to host the show indoors is probably b/c he can't stand cold weather when he's getting up in age.
