Does it have good video quality? I'm searching for a good digital camera for making videos for YouTube and for everyday use. What's the verdict? Also, do you know if it can add a picture slideshow to your videos? Thanks!
The autofocus motor makes a clicking noise that can be heard on the video. The picture quality is pretty good, a little grainy but way better than most digital cameras with video. As far as I know you cant do any kind of editing on the camera you have to use a video editing program on your computer, and it needs to be a really fast computer to edit the HD sized videos.
acctually, the s2000 was becoming a bit of a collectors item and acctually stayed the same if not went up in price on ebay. but thankfully the s2100hd is out now so consumers dont have to pay over the original msrp.
No, stick with the DSLR, the lenses will be much better and give you more options, and the next time you buy a camera you only have to buy the body and you can just use the lenses you already have.
do you like it i just got one for x-mas and im lving mine i dont really give a crap about the zoom noise but if you set the video to HD i find it slows down the zoom and reduces the noise anyway good on ya!!!

1. My 7 year old, 3mp, 3x zoom, Nikon camera that's worth about $25 right now, takes better pictures indoors. This Fuji takes GRAINY pics. The flash sucks too.
2. Movie mode, there is a constant clicking and the zoom gears are super loud.
3. The HD movie mode is pretty good for the price, but still, I need a decent still shot camera.
1. You have to shoot in manual mode indoors and set the ISO to something around 400. What happens is that in auto mode the camera shoots the ISO way up to 1600 or something when it sees low light and you get grainy pictures. Set the ISO at 400 and use the flash and you will get great pictures.
2. Agreed, its the autofocus making that noise.
3. I'm not that impressed its no replacement for a real HD camera, but for the price of the camera as an add on feature its decent.

You should post some work you've done with the camera! Or, a link to your flickr..etc. I'm interested in seeing what it can do, and flickr doesn't have it on the camera finder, yet. Boooo.
Fun for you I bet hehehe..Im planning on purchasing this for use in stop motion videos.My current camera is only 6 megapixel and I think that looks good enough,however the video on my current camera SUCKS ASS!!!! I can only imagine what 10 megapixels and hd video would look like,,ahhh...drool!!!!

Any kind you want. All tripods have a standard 1/4x20 thread that this camera will accept.

Wide angle photo's are unsharp in the edges due to the extreme zoom lens.
HD 720p video is OK on a LCD tv, but only with close objects, landscapes are crap. Good camera considering the price though.

The video is not just good quality, its in full HQ. The cheapest video camera to compete would set you back at least 3 times more!
