I wish this album would be released by Warner Bros, on CD here in the US. I guess if you do file sharing with newsgroups or other services, you might have a copy of this kick ass album. Oddly enough, the part from 3:13 to 3:24 on the guitars is "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg.
Ah, this is awesome... I'd love to have my own copy of this. Paul is one of my favirte singers... just awesome. One of my favorite bands. Thank's a lot for uploading, 5 *'s!
AW man id love copy of these vids on dvd dont supose you could send the file of it, i have a couple rare albums if your interested i couldnt send you them over email as a trad or something?
They got shafted on the light show for sure! Most of the times opening bands are so much better than the headliners. I feel confident that was the case here too. JMO
Rough Cutt wouls still have been associated with Ronnie james Dio if Shortino hadn't stabbed Ronnie in the back. People only blame Wendy Dio for what happened. She is definitely half responsible -but Shortino is responsible too. Too bad Rough Cutt's other members had to pay the price and got shafted.
These guys remind me of some of alice in chains' early stuff in a way. Like, its pretty glam-y but for some reason it sounds pretty fucking dark for a 'hair' band. So this is Amir back in his day...
'YOU WERE THE LIGHT ABOVE THE NIGHT,THE QUEEN WHO WINS THE ACE!!!awesome song, album, band &THE FUCKIN' SHORTINO VOCALS,ONE of a kind in METAL.Had a rough dirty edge, with vicious shredding from twin AXES!!.that sinks in the fangs!!ROUGH CUTT WILL TAKE YOU & BREAK YOU!!!!REGARDS 4 THE UPLOAD......
enough about paul. no disrespect, but how bizare is it that THAT GUY playing the first solo is AMIR DERAKH from orgy? he's now in julien-k, best known for TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES from the "transformers" soundtrack...
Ever since I heard Rough Cutt's sound back in '85 It really put the hook in me,These guys and Malice were My all-time favorites from the 80's metal era; It's their Huge,Powerful Guitar sound that Blew me away and I've been chasing after that guitar sound ever since; I believe that I'm getting pretty close to it,But if you guys know anything about how they got this Incredible guitar sound,Sharing it would be greatly appreciated.
Solid state Randall's, from , uh, '83-'84 I believe....and digital delay, distortion, reverb...Randall heads and Marshall cabinets...uh...is Randall still around? Lynch was endorsing 'em on "Tooth and Nail"...CRATE has some solid state heads that sound real similar to the 80's RANDALL tone... that "Lynch" sound....
1985 Rough Cutt opened for Accept and Krokus Peoria Illinios at Bradley University. Great show.Rough Cutt let me and a friend on the tour bus and let us have a beer. Pretty cool for a 15 year old. Tour manager try to kick us out. The band told him to fuck off. I remember one of the guys bitching about Paul's girlfriend. They also said the Wendy/Ronnie Dio involvement was a bunch of shit and just a PR stunt. I met Udo from Accept as I got off the bus. What a great night I will never forget.
Im so glad to hear so many ppl adore Pauls voice. It would melt me when id hear it. Went to so many shows in L.a. hung out with some of them often enough. And when he smiled at you .. mmmmm.
I found this tape in the back of a car I borrowed while stationed in Alaska back in the 80's. Still play it all the time. Sounds better here. Probably ought to get a CD sometime..
It is from the VHS Super Rock 85 or 86. I have seen it on ebay a few times for sale. I have everything on DVD (better quality than here)if you would like a copy, i can burn you one for you.
A friend used to have videos from San Diego clubs that were good and somewhat heavy. But, after they got signed to the record company it was all generic metal ballad crap. And they started wearing stupid clothing on stage that was embarassing to even look at.
It is that!!!! I do like the studio version better, of course, but this is pretty good for a rare footage clip. Thanks to whoever posted this!!! And those guitarists are ON IT! Their chops are tight!
Paul Shortino's vocals are top notch as always!
