  • Paul Shortino's vocals are top notch as always!

  • is this after craig goldy?

  • @bguy75 Yes....long after Goldy. Goldy didn't appear on their albums, he was with them when they were a club act on the Strip.

  • Amazing voice. Amazing version.

  • this was one bad ass band I saw them live in the 80s

    Peace

    From

    Harley the legendary whiskey drinker

  • Sweet ! man I miss those years, such good music. None of this pop-corn fart music these days. Thanks so much !!

  • PSLOVER! Wold LOVE to get a copy of this from you.

Please let me know how to contact you!

    THANKS A BUNCH!

  • AWESOME fucking song!!!! SO TIGHT!!!!

  • AWESOME fucking song!!!!

  • I wish this album would be released by Warner Bros, on CD here in the US. I guess if you do file sharing with newsgroups or other services, you might have a copy of this kick ass album. Oddly enough, the part from 3:13 to 3:24 on the guitars is "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Edvard Grieg.

  • Ah, this is awesome... I'd love to have my own copy of this. Paul is one of my favirte singers... just awesome. One of my favorite bands. Thank's a lot for uploading, 5 *'s!

  • One of THE best dual lead bands ever.......

  • I saw em open for Dio on his Sacred Heart tour in '85, bought the album the next day, they rocked!

  • Ha, i remember playing this in high school. It was great then as now.

  • AW man id love copy of these vids on dvd dont supose you could send the file of it, i have a couple rare albums if your interested i couldnt send you them over email as a trad or something?

  • I saw them maybe around this time they didn't sound this good. Nice find.

  • Shortino has such a unique, original voice. Love it! The first album was their best work.

  • They got shafted on the light show for sure! Most of the times opening bands are so much better than the headliners. I feel confident that was the case here too. JMO

  • good song, too bad my vinyl of this is warped :(

  • @wheatr34 If you want, You can go to Amazon or Ebay and get the CDs there,Got 4 Rough Cutt Cds that way.

  • Rough Cutt members Paul, Chris and Amir are all from San Diego.

  • what a good singer! He's got the voice.(some of them don't.)

  • They played amazingly tight on the stage as well as at the studio. Fresh star, killing Amir!

  • sometimes I play this song on my ipod.....is good.....

  • Comment removed

  • they suck sweaty balls

  • @TheMissLeo sweaty balls lol yer mom has sweaty balls...

  • @groffel123 she probably does

  • @TheMissLeo lmao

  • By the way, I meant "would", in that last comment. Typing too fast again.

  • Rough Cutt wouls still have been associated with Ronnie james Dio if Shortino hadn't stabbed Ronnie in the back. People only blame Wendy Dio for what happened. She is definitely half responsible -but Shortino is responsible too. Too bad Rough Cutt's other members had to pay the price and got shafted.

  • Paul has incredible pipes. Such an original voice.

  • Pretty good live version...1985 was a good year for rock...I saw Rough Cutt with Dio, and it was a great show....

  • These guys remind me of some of alice in chains' early stuff in a way. Like, its pretty glam-y but for some reason it sounds pretty fucking dark for a 'hair' band. So this is Amir back in his day...

  • @RNRDOLL

AN astute observation, and one definitely worthy of further contemplation!

  • 'YOU WERE THE LIGHT ABOVE THE NIGHT,THE QUEEN WHO WINS THE ACE!!!awesome song, album, band &THE FUCKIN' SHORTINO VOCALS,ONE of a kind in METAL.Had a rough dirty edge, with vicious shredding from twin AXES!!.that sinks in the fangs!!ROUGH CUTT WILL TAKE YOU & BREAK YOU!!!!REGARDS 4 THE UPLOAD......

  • this is from super rock japan 1985

    :-D

  • what a fucking gritty, ballsy, gruff, kick ass rock voice Mr. Shortino has. Brilliant!

  • You are right! His voice is too amazing!

  • Holy crap I havent seen anything of these guys in years. Is there footage of Shortino when he sand in Quiet Riot?

  • OMG!! These guys are fucking brilliant :)

  • i like chris over amir, amir is good, its just chris has better style and he is a little better

  • saw them open for dio....amir derakh kix ass....he also had a band called orgy...produced a coal chamber cd and has a band now called julien k

  • i love rough cutt great underrated band i also love the fact that they were associated with my idol mr. ronnie james dio

  • Dio rocks

  • /,,//,,/

  • Where you have found this dvd bootleg?

  • are Rough Cutt from Canada? thasnk`s

  • based in Los Angeles

  • Rough cutt was from L.A. probably the valley area. Wendy Dio managed the band. They were a great band that should have gone a lot farther.

  • Yea, Wendy is still in the Valley.

FYI, Rough Cutt Vocalist Paul Shortino left to join Quiet Riot back in the day after Dubro let QR.

  • They're based out of San Diego.

  • true metal with feeling and talented singers you can understand it ITS METAL

  • where can you buy their music

  • My favorite song of Rough Cutt, and also first song I ever heard of them.

  • Is this Amir Derakh and Chris Hager with Paul Shortino? Who is the drummer?

  • Dave Alford on drums and Matt Thor on bass.

  • enough about paul. no disrespect, but how bizare is it that THAT GUY playing the first solo is AMIR DERAKH from orgy? he's now in julien-k, best known for TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES from the "transformers" soundtrack...

  • Paul is great singer!!!!!!

    Take Her is good song!!!!!!

  • And Ronnie James Dio wrote this song... ;P

  • my buddy saw RC open for Krokus and said he and another guy were the only ones rockin out...everyone else was too stoned i guess ;)

  • Ever since I heard Rough Cutt's sound back in '85 It really put the hook in me,These guys and Malice were My all-time favorites from the 80's metal era; It's their Huge,Powerful Guitar sound that Blew me away and I've been chasing after that guitar sound ever since; I believe that I'm getting pretty close to it,But if you guys know anything about how they got this Incredible guitar sound,Sharing it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Solid state Randall's, from , uh, '83-'84 I believe....and digital delay, distortion, reverb...Randall heads and Marshall cabinets...uh...is Randall still around? Lynch was endorsing 'em on "Tooth and Nail"...CRATE has some solid state heads that sound real similar to the 80's RANDALL tone... that "Lynch" sound....

  • 1985 Rough Cutt opened for Accept and Krokus Peoria Illinios at Bradley University. Great show.Rough Cutt let me and a friend on the tour bus and let us have a beer. Pretty cool for a 15 year old. Tour manager try to kick us out. The band told him to fuck off. I remember one of the guys bitching about Paul's girlfriend. They also said the Wendy/Ronnie Dio involvement was a bunch of shit and just a PR stunt. I met Udo from Accept as I got off the bus. What a great night I will never forget.

  • ****HEADS UP*****

google ----kryme myspace to hear the new R/C disc. Also see MOD EV.

  • Dio used to manage Rough Cutt and Hellion.

  • its funny most of these guys where in ratt but left to join this band..in then ratt ended up getting alot more bigger than they did

  • Im so glad to hear so many ppl adore Pauls voice. It would melt me when id hear it. Went to so many shows in L.a. hung out with some of them often enough. And when he smiled at you .. mmmmm.

  • Is there a DVD out for this? I really would like a copy of this...Rough Cutt was one of my faves growing up.

  • rough cutt rocks cleveland

  • Awesome band they had a really good sound.

  • Awesome singer!

  • kick ass song!

  • I love Rough Cutt...I saw them open for Dio in 1985, and they were one of my favorite opening bands that I have ever seen...Rock ON

  • Wow. Paul's voice is amazing.

  • I found this tape in the back of a car I borrowed while stationed in Alaska back in the 80's. Still play it all the time. Sounds better here. Probably ought to get a CD sometime..

  • This song is written by Craig Goldy-from Giuffia and Dio. Amir and Chris were in bands in San Diego when I was growing up there in the early 80's.

  • Amir rocks my socks.

  • Thats my uncle=]

  • muy buena cancion excelente¡¡¡¡yeahhhh

  • A talented band and great song. Amir Derakh has some chops, too. The outfit he is wearing kicks ass.

  • i never really listened to this band...i like this song though

  • Nice performance here. Paul looked so hot!

I miss Roughcutt and that era in Hollywierd.

I still have a Rough Cutt satin jacket Michael their roadie gave me. Michael was one of my bestest buddies back then.

  • Amir the guitar player that plays the first solo is now in ORGY.

  • The kind of filler music used in low budget teen flicks, lame, weak. Sydney Pollocks!

  • AMAZING !!Great performance!

Thanks a lot for the video!

  • i luv tis so0ng..oye..thx dude 4 download this video...^_____^

  • Thanks!!!

  • Thanks for dowloading this video!!! Got two records of these guys and both of them are excellent!!!

  • One of my all-time favorite songs of the 80's metal songs. Cool riff.

  • Damn, this song RULES! Thanks for uploading all these songs that aren't the singles off the debut.

  • is it just me or does that last solo at the end of the song remind anyone else of Slayer's "Raining Blood" intro?

  • I saw them when they opened for Ronnie James Dio on the Sacred Heart tour in 85. They rocked.

  • Me too - and actually had backstage passes and got to meet them. awesome guys.

  • where did you get this clip? I wanna score it.

  • It is from the VHS Super Rock 85 or 86. I have seen it on ebay a few times for sale. I have everything on DVD (better quality than here)if you would like a copy, i can burn you one for you.

  • @pslover Hey man, i want that copy please¡¡¡

  • @pslover I would love tyo get a copy aswell! Love Rough Cutt. How many song's are on it? Got plenty of dvd's my self. Would swap something in return.

  • @pslover can i have a copy ? thank ;-)

  • What the fuck does that mean? Stupid comment

  • It must be the name of Scott's band. the one that does the greenday covers

  • is that what you had for dinner?

  • A friend used to have videos from San Diego clubs that were good and somewhat heavy. But, after they got signed to the record company it was all generic metal ballad crap. And they started wearing stupid clothing on stage that was embarassing to even look at.

  • I agree. They were a great band. They didnt need the silly outfits and hair. Made them look like Poison wannabes.

  • want to trade dvds? have alot of old school. but a i need this concert!!!

  • Sure. Shoot me an e-mail on here.

  • This is the best song they ever wrote!!!

  • It is that!!!! I do like the studio version better, of course, but this is pretty good for a rare footage clip. Thanks to whoever posted this!!! And those guitarists are ON IT! Their chops are tight!

  • Thanks for posting :)

  • Too bad the sound isn't better.
