Like the court system does not lie! I am going through the worst time of my life. i just turned 19 years old and i am facing a mandatory 3 years plus 2 years in prison. @starsfound I think I can answer that. Blacks in the '50s and '60s dealt with horrific attacks and threats just so my generation could be on equal footing with White Americans. The mindset, for many, stays the same... 50 years later.
The tragic part is... those who abuse this mindset are using the struggle of the Civil Rights movement as a shield for their corruption. And in the case of an ACTUAL conspiracy, people like Kwame make people with legitimate issues look criminal. Agree?

It's really shameful that some of this could have been prevented. He speaks as if that is not the case. Whether he changed or not, his parents should have reiterated the importance of staying out of corrupt practices given that he was a young BLACK man with an opportunity to lead and have a position of significance. i doubt that his sentence was excessive. He abused the power he was given he abused the trust in the people. He was given rights as the mayor and he abused each and everyone of them.
