We have some original rims of a 67 that we might be interested in selling to you. The tires are shredded but the rims are in OK shape. Pm me if your interested
Beautifal man!My dad has a 67 cougar sitting rotting in my grandmas backyard, shes trying to sell it, these next few months now that I'm turning 18, ima try and get a job and get that thing back to it's former glory.
love these cars except when people spend all that time just to put on some cheap stamped steel "boat trailer" rims. let some air out of those shocks in back and put a nice set of aluminum wheels on it and it wont look like it was restored in the 90's! sorry just some constructive advice. real nice car. love it.
@vanda219 i agree. but this car is more reminiscent of the 70's. people would throw on Highjacker and pump them up all the way. UGH. This restoration is ruined by the look, sorry guy. But beautifully done, great color. But I would recommed some torque thrust rims. Maybe the heights for those long tube headers hanging down.
I'm running 15" wheels front and back. Front tires are low profile 205/55R15 and the rears are fat 295/55R15. Rear wheel wells aren't tubbed so air shocks were added to enhance the rear coil over. I like the rake... good visibility and great handling. Good luck and thanks for your interest!
@justducky67 im considering restoring a 67-70, but have found few resources as to re pro parts and such. any chance you could share some sources with me?
@Colnando Hummm, I'll update this post. I finally got myself another 67 ... a FUCKIN beauty too! XR7 and all, but I had to put in air shocks to get some height. Air shocks are the way to go, took me 45 minutes to install the entire kit and now have an 8 inch lift if I like ;)
Hey man we r restoring the same car and I was wonderin if u could maybe send me some shots of the engine, or a diagram of under the hood? Were trying to figure out were most of our parts go haha it's a 289.
..nice job man, my wife & I have a 68', base model 289, numbers matching & we love it...planning a road trip to West Coast Cougar in Salem Oregon next summer....
theres one of these in not so good condition like right down the block from me and i see it everyday when i walk home from the bus stop but its hella ironis cuz im like obsessed with the 67 fastback mustangs and 67 shelby's
Man,this video makes me soo jeleous and sad at the same time.I just sold my '67 XR-7 back in August.I totally miss that cat! Great job on the restoraation.I hope you have many happy years with her!
man nice job ive been going loopy tryin to get decent clips to hold my deck lid chrom trim on the metal ones broke the plastic one i ordered from west coast cougars broke im about to screw it on lol
NICE RIDE BRO!!! I have watched this video like 20 times!!! I just bought a 67' Cougar XR7 the other day. Having trouble finding out more about the car though. What exactly is the XR7? It has a 289 in it with a 4 barrel carb, is this stock in this car? is it a 289 Hi Power? How do i find out? Also it has the whole set up for an air conditioning system in the back, any tips on how to hook it up in the car lol...I am so lost . I used to have a mustang this is a brand new chapter WAY COOLER!
dude if you need any parts i know of a guy with a bunch of parts on the east coast! let me know he has e mail and phone numbers ill give you. he has tons and tons of parts!
That is a sweet ride. The 1967 Cougar is probably one of the most underrated of the 60's era muscle cars. There's just something about those tailights and headlight covers that screams cool. But I would honestly take any one of those late 60's cars (Mustang, Cougar, Camaro, Firebird, ect) over what the auto industry offers today.
I thnk some cougars lok better than mustangs.... not sayin the mustang is ugly because that isnt true but i think the cougar was a bad ass muscle car tuffer
Nice! I just bought one !!

Cool car but actually a custom and not a restoration. "Restored" means returned to brand new condition, like it just came out of the factory.

Killsignal0 9 months ago

did you know that any 60's or 70's muscle car would annihilate any european supercar(lambo, maserati, Ferrari) of the same year? US owned that era.
