i took him out with a rifle(bolt-action) in like 2 minutes and you should never you a shotgun against salazar even if you have alot because in the island chapters a shotgun is your last stand

lol when i fought with him, before i got in this room i bought a rocket launcher, then i shot the thing in the eye, when salazar appeared i just shot the rocket launcher and BANG! he was dead...

You used a lot of ammo in that fight. You can really finish this fight with only the mine launcher and the magnum- I did it with only the magnum (which in hind-sight, was a waste of ammo). Nonetheless, I managed to beat this guy in less than 20 seconds.

I personally used the Red9 and the Broken Butterfly. Shot at the eye with the Red9, and then used the Broken Butterfly to take down Salazar himself. Took only about 6 shots from the Broken Butterfly.

I killed him in less then ten seconds on Normal. Shot the eye with the striker and then one blast with the rocket launcher. Another time i shot the eye and fired the revolver at him, only needed to do it twice to kill the pirate midget.

I just shot the eye and used a rocket launcher on Salazar...although that was because I always got killed just trying to shoot him with a normal gun.
