  • Nice truck !

  • where is this

  • that station and area looks pretty new, how new would you say that station is

  • Beautiful rigs!

  • Maybe some firefighters can help me out. Why do some fire departments have the black/yellow fire suits while others have the tan or beige/yellow suits?

  • @vince2b Its just a different brand of gear. Fairfax County uses Globe, which comes in the tan. Other places use other kinds, which may be other colors.

  • @vince2b its all department descretion. some of its tradition, some of it is cost, some of it is safety, fdny has always had black gear, while LA, Pheonix and Dallas it gets really hot, so the FD's opt for a lighter color for heat protection, my company always used gold, and our engine company across town has always had black. But all manufacturers offer a variation. Some places in Europe even offer a bright blue, but the US fd's typically leave that for ems/non fd rescue personnel.

  • in salem harbour complex, the Union of Fire Company station 37 sends 2 or 3 vehicals everytime: Squirt 37, Chief, Rescue (unmarked vehical with lights usually blue on the top).

  • Man that truck sounds good :D

  • whats the yellow tube that ripped off the truck at 0:35?

  • @mboz38-its used to either keep air pressure filled or to keep the generator and electrical system charge up when not being used

  • @firefighterology Isnt it hooked up to the exaust pipe so it doesnt fill the room up with carbon dioxide when the doors are shut and the trucks are running?

  • @BoggaBillaRFS You're right. The thin wire is a shoreline, which keeps everything charged.

The big tube is to capture exhaust.

  • @firefighterology its to remove the exaust

  • @firefighterology no its an exhaust extractor.

  • @mboz38 It is for when the truck is running and the doors are closed to prevent Carbon Monoxide from building up from the exhaust. It just clamps onto the exhaust pipe, and its on a track in the ceiling to follow the truck until it gets to the door, then it snaps off. :)

  • God I miss going to the station for classes and getting to see all the awesome stuff they carry on the Haz Mat trucks - sigh

  • Damn, they fuckin' FLEW outta that station!! Great job.

  • NICE Q

  • what's an appliance fire? is it like an apartment fire?

  • Oven, microwave, stove, etc.

  • my dad is a battalion chief for the fairfax county fire dept.

    his nickname is - odie

  • awesome video

  • cool

  • 1 minute isnt a long responce time

  • @mpfd131 Dont tell me someone actually said it was...wow. There's vids on Youtube where it takes 10+ minutes to get out of the station, and invariably those are always the ones that get defended with "I'd like to see you go any faster" as if it is impossible.

  • @mpfd131 I am pretty sure it was 30 seconds

  • nice towerladder

  • they are doing the best they can it takes time to get all your gear on then get on a truck

  • walk with a sense of urgency, as it were.

  • i minute isnt long. the rule is you have to be out by 2:00 they were sooner so it wasnt long

  • 1 minute is less than 2 minutes so it wasnt long

  • when you take your time getting your gear on, not sluggishly slow, but doing it w/out urgency will make it as fast as doing it with speed. experience comes with practice.

  • clifton nj?

  • clifton virginia in fairfax county

  • ohh

  • What are the Yellow hoses for? And do they come off when the unit leaves the station???

  • The Yellow hoses are pipes that hook up to the Trucks exhaust pipe, so that when you start the engine the bay doesn't fill up with exaust. It runs on a track so it stays on until your about a foot or so from the front of the bay, than it just unhooks.

  • thanks, i was always wondering what those were lol

  • mine just unhocks like 5 feet away. its the same kind as bcfd and masison fds exoust hoses

  • acuattly baltimore city fd and madison fd

  • im talking about my exaust hose

  • weel ours dosent have a plymovent though

  • a Plymo-vent system, best in the industry...

  • ya I agree, city of Raleigh's got it and they're much better than those stupid vent fans that hang from the ceiling...

  • i can vouch for that my company is theonly house in my town that has one of those and we havent had a problem

  • MAN!! I'm so happy that there's a vid from inside the station.

  • Lee Hwy and Legato was shut down for paving and putting up the new traffic light. Had to go around to get to the parkway.

  • Umm... Clifton's the other way! lol... When was this? Was this the one on Colchester? Cuz When I pulled up in my POV The tower was there WAY before the engine showed up.

  • SWEET!
