You must be running android 2.3+ and the iOS app has not made it to the Apple Appstore yet. Try using a browser on a computer and log in using your gmail account. It should show which devices you own you can load it on.

@blueguy81 They have optimized some games for touch, like the game I was playing in the video. The touch games are just a small fraction of the games available on Onlive. You don't need to use a controller, but the experience is better with a controller.
@blueguy81 The iPad app was submitted to apple at the same time as the android app was submitted to android market. However there seems to be an issue getting the app approved in Apple's store. Apparently Apple serms to have issue with in app purchases. The two companies might be negotiating revenue share. So though it is not currently available for iOS, it should show up, some time soon.
Have your friend check for updates. The phone came out earlier last year, so it should have been updated by now. He would go into the settings, then about phone, then system updates.
Make sure he is on wifi (data service is on if no wifi is available). Hit firmware update first, then update Android. Hopefully it will update the phone to 2.3. Let me know what happens, I'm interested ti know. Otherwise I can introduce you to the wonderful world of custom roms.
another friend of mine got an Android phone(Samsung Galaxy Y with Android 2.3.6)and it said the app's not compatible with the version for some reason...Do you know why?
There are a couple of reasons why this could happen:
1. The display stats - The Galaxy Y only has 256K colors
and is 240 x 320 pixels. It could be that Onlive specifies minimum display specs.
2. RAM - The Samsung Galaxy Y has only 290MB worth of user memory, which if there are other user installed apps using some of this memory, there might not be enough left for Onlive.
I would suggest for both your friends trying to sideload onlive on their phones to see what happens.
When you're connected to a strong wifi signal, with great bandwidth, you will not notice any lag. You notice lag, when there are frame drops, which you'll notice, right away. If you have a fast internet connection, it's a great "console like" experience.
Have you run a speed check on your current internet speed? If you have, I've noticed that when I'm above 4Mbps (Better at about 6Mbps), Onlive plays fine.
Sent a link to the APK for Onlive to you channel comments. I hope you enjoy it. If anyone else wants the link, let me know. I'll send the link to all that wants it. I would put it in the description, but I don't know if it's allowed.
I believe you can if you have a usb dongle for iPad. It might require a third party app. Tablets like the Acer Iconia a500 and Toshiba thrive have the full 2.0 port built into the device and supports wired controllers.

The Gio is running Android 2.2, and the application runs on 2.3+. The Gio is supposed to get the 2.3 update. Has it been updated?

That's the first time I heard of someone not wanting to update their phone. But hey, if he's happy, that's all that matters.
