awesome conservation work. I am from Ontario and just convinced DU to let me put up 6 boxes at a conservation nearby area that I hunt. this video is quite informative as U have never done this type of work yet. thank you for posting it.

@Nekkidj Hey man, good luck, it is a bit of work but it is very rewarding when you see those hatched eggs and the Woodies winging around your blind. We will be tending our boxes in the next week or two, Ice is just about thick enough in a few areas. Go for it and enjoy!

how do you get the poles through the ice? just smash it? doesnt it crack the ice your standing on? it seems you left that part out of the video. lol. probly cause you needed all available hands.... thanks.

how come the clamps don't slide down? how hard is it to get the pole in the ground (for female...) thank you.

The clamps don't slide because they are tightened against the wood, the poles are not hard to put in, the pole pounder does all the work for you. Anyone can do it with the right tools.

Automatic weapons ARE illegal in all of the US without a special licence. Obama has not gone after our guns yet because he has seen so much resistance against everything he proposes so far, its coming!

Thx for the shoot scene, the trick with the wood board and the clay pigeons is a good idea. I may have to implement that for my next shoot meet. That would be excellent practice for pistol.

What wood do you make these boxes out of? Anything special, or any restrictions?

Thanks, the pole pounder is a homemade one, it is a well drilling bit welded to a hunk of pipe, it is just under 60 lbs, a little too heavy now that I'm getting older.

Thanks for stopping by Rock, Michael insisted on makeing this video, we do this every year, never recorded it before, had to spit it in two videos, it is a good feeling when you find a bunch of hatched eggs. I did want to show off my swamp a little, 70 acres in Ct is a conciderdable chunk. The shooting was over 3 days.

ITS THE WADERS THAT MAKE ME LOOK FAT! LOL, really it is the waders and the layers of cloths that make me look fat and the cameras adds 30 lbs. Seriously though, havent shaved since the elk trip in Sept, the first beard I ever had, has to go in a couple weeks when I open the driving range.
