It's a word play with allusion in it's use. "My misery has been formulated into an equation of nein" with the context of the next stanza of "My sanity wrote a suicide note" &etc seems to convey several things to me. Number one that her misery has become a mathematical certainty(hence making it into an equation), and second the significance of "nein" being that it means no in German and is a wordplay on the # 9. Basically her escape by suicide has been denied.

The German is important. Nein means no and is phonetically identical to the English word nine. That is the word play right there. The lyrics can also be read "My misery has been formulated into an equation of no/nine" if that helps you at all. The main message is no. I'm not really sure how to explain it any clearer. It's just some poetic word play she is using to further enhance the meaning.
