Freeze branding actually has to be held longer on the coat, and burns for a lot longer. It still bloody hurts. Ear tagging is still pain to the animal, you can not bleach their hair, or shave it in, as it will grow out in a couple of months, I am not saying fire branding is good, but other methods of ID is just as painful. Even Microchipping is painful and can cause some major reactions. Do you people actually own horses? Horses are very sensitive, and have personalities just like humans.

For the people who say "horses are tough!" "Horses don't feel anything!" have you ever noticed how a horse reacts to a single fly landing on them? Horses' hides are a fraction as thick as cows, so if you brand them like a cow, you'll burn straight through to the muscle. Horses are strong, but hardly "infinitely stronger" (that's saying a horse is stronger than God). And meaning what?
