  • Mozart was dorky

  • She's mad. Mad, Volfie.

  • i love how his wife defends him while he kind of hides behind her. its so freaking cute!! usually you see the man defending the girl but for some reason here its adorable. 7:28

  • Mozart was a little perv :P But no seriously this movie makes much more sense to me now. I first saw this movie when I was like eight.

  • Tom Hulce's Mozart really reminds me of a character right out of the Black Adder series.

I'm frightened, I'm very, very frightened!

  • The actor who plays Schickeneder (Simon Callow) played Mozart in the original production of the play.

  • I can't believe this was made over 20 years ago. It's wayyy ahead of its time.

  • Mozart reminds me of Willy Wonka.

  • @avocadopye i was just about to look it up and see if it was the same person.... haha

  • @avocadopye lol Gene Wilder should've played Mozart.

  • @lillyclown Magic Flute

  • Please please!!! What´s the name of the song at 8:39 !! It´s so beautiful.. Please answer me..!! :-) Thanks :-)

  • @ParkourMetalPunk it is the overture to Die Zauberfloete [in English: The Magic Flute.]

  • it be cool if there was a scene where mozart meets beetoven when he's old

  • Does any1 else notice that when Constanze says, "And a man who won't pay you a penny!" That the penny is an American currency. And Abraham Lincoln wasn't even president until 60 years later. hahahaha

  • @IwishIcouldvethought good observation wow!

  • @IwishIcouldvethought What is the time fram for this movie, because the Penny was invented in 1787

  • @readygo242 Mozart would be dead a few years before the French Revolution begins. Earlier in the movie, when Mozart is called before the Emperor, he is told why the Emperor has forbade the French play The Marriage of Figaro: because his 'dear sister, Antoinette {Maire Antoinette} tells how the play has stirred class discontent. Historically true. We all know how it ended for her.

  • demanding money...oh women....never satisfied : [

  • Women...always thinking about their husband's money. I guess some things never change :)

  • lol, "it's all up here in my noodle..."

  • @cassandraDT13

  • 0:24 XVIII century STOMP!

    4:33 - 4:50 That's inner ear!

    Also (From Tyzhen earlier):

    Ha-ha!

    1:38 Schickaneder says: "U-ups!":):)

As if he knew the American slang from two centuries later....

  • Soong at 4:40?

  • @StarTrekkin94 Dies Irae, from Mozart's Requiem

  • "have you got it finished?"

    --- yes

    "can i see it?"

    --- no

    "why?"

--- because there's nothing to see..

    hahahahaAHHAHAH ... HEH...!

    lol

    classic :P

  • 2:37-2:45 he reminds me of jim morrison

  • omg i hate that bitch!

  • HAha, I feel like Mozart these days...finding a job is tough...

  • lol I don't think Mozart's exact problem was finding a job...

he was just a bit too moody and childlike to keep one.;)

  • ....Well I suppose that's my problem too...lol

  • HaHa, good one!!

  • @drunkdonutboy Tough as hell when you're a musician that's for sure.

  • I doubt it would grow in the cold climate.

  • Lmao that's the guy from Ace Ventura When Nature Calls..."Cadby from the consulate right? This is weird" lmao!!!!! =)

  • 2:37 omg, he looks so wasted! I was just like, "Mozart how could you!?" it practically breaks my heart to see him inebriated in this scene!

  • exactly, like the one mozart wore at the premiere of die entführung aus dem serail not to mention the wig salieri wears throughout the movie. oh yeah, i forgot about the baron's wig too.

  • and constanza's wig when she went to salieri.

  • I thought wigs were bright, and not dark like at 01:44

  • I think that his blonde hair were colored to show that in that time, Mozart started to be ill. The dark hair stresses his pale ill face so he looks more ill.

  • How come Mozart's hair is so dark in one part and so bright in the next? :S

  • LOL AT 8:00

  • 04:42 What's the music here ? Can somebody tell me please ?

  • might be one of the movements in the Requiem. Isn't it the Kyrie? I'm not sure.

  • It's the Dies Irae :) it's played a bit too fast though :P

  • When did you see me writing that Magic Flute is superficial and shallow ? I was writing about the way that Schickaneder`s character speaks in the movie; and the way that his character`s words could be interpreted in the context of the story that the movie is trying to convey.

Why don`t you read before starting with the insults?

  • Mozart is hot in the brown wig.

  • 0:24 "I like the horse"..he's so cute

  • the way he said that reminds me of Guybrush Tweepwood

  • Ha-ha!

    1:38 Schickaneder says: "U-ups!":):)

As if he knew the American slang from two centuries later....

Well, what can you expect from Holywood....

  • not to mention how mozart says noodle :P

  • Yes, that too :)

Actually this is one of Holywood ways of work that I hate very much: to transplant present time style of behaviour in past epoques, just to make the main characters more appealing to the present time public. For somebody it could be appeal, for me it's manipulation and profanization; because instead of raising up the level of the public, they bring down the theme.

  • um... you don't expect that they were really speaking english at all, do you?

  • Schickaneder says: "That`s what people want - fantasy!"; however in the context of his words it seems that he actually means not "fantasy", but "cheapness" , "superficiality", "shallowness".

Unfortunately that`s what the majority of people wanted then and want now. Try to be deep, insightfull, try to show sth really prescious, sth really deserving - and you`ll be ridiculed and kicked away; and that - if you are noticed at all, of course....

  • I LOVE this movie and I love Mozart!

  • ... what a sad movie... nearly all the main characters are going down, either in financial or inside... TT o TT

  • hey, constanze! i like the magic flute, hehe...

  • Lol I'll put it in your hands!

  • That was hilarious lol

  • mrs. mozart is stacked

  • Dies Irae del Requiem

  • Where can i find that song, where they're like hitting those broom looking things? hahah.

  • i just have to laugh when the actor goes "death mass" really dramatically and it scares that maid...

  • lol 7:21 Oh??!!

  • Is that girl of Salieri one of the cast of SEX and the city??????

  • Yes it's Cynthia Nixon

  • the guy at 3:51 looks like an oompa loompa

  • ok am i the only one that kinda gets an adam pascal vibe from tom when he has his long hair, they dont look exactly alike but they somewhat resemble

  • omg! i know i'm not seeing what i think i'm seeing @ 7:09! he did NOT just come into wolfi's home and grab him like that! teach him some respect stanzi and slap the curl off a bitch!

  • why

  • no way! mozart really was a bit of a nutter. a mad genius, arguably the best composer ever! Don't forget it's the eighties, either...

  • After I first saw this, I read everything I could find about Mozart, including some of his letters. Many of them really were very earthy, and he did indeed like fart jokes. But he was also very devout.

  • "if i offer mine, you should offer yours."

i'm sooooooo going to say that from now on... not sure when. but i will!

  • haha, to see cynthia nixon as the maid is so funny :-)

  • curiosity question.....anyone know what the name of mozart's kid is?....thanks in advance, for any response.
