I read some where that when Mozart composed music he heard the music he was writing so loudly in his mind that it almost blocked him out to all other sounds.
i love how his wife defends him while he kind of hides behind her. its so freaking cute!! usually you see the man defending the girl but for some reason here its adorable. 7:28
Does any1 else notice that when Constanze says, "And a man who won't pay you a penny!" That the penny is an American currency. And Abraham Lincoln wasn't even president until 60 years later. hahahaha
@readygo242 Mozart would be dead a few years before the French Revolution begins. Earlier in the movie, when Mozart is called before the Emperor, he is told why the Emperor has forbade the French play The Marriage of Figaro: because his 'dear sister, Antoinette {Maire Antoinette} tells how the play has stirred class discontent. Historically true. We all know how it ended for her.
exactly, like the one mozart wore at the premiere of die entführung aus dem serail not to mention the wig salieri wears throughout the movie. oh yeah, i forgot about the baron's wig too.
I think that his blonde hair were colored to show that in that time, Mozart started to be ill. The dark hair stresses his pale ill face so he looks more ill.
When did you see me writing that Magic Flute is superficial and shallow ? I was writing about the way that Schickaneder`s character speaks in the movie; and the way that his character`s words could be interpreted in the context of the story that the movie is trying to convey.
Why don`t you read before starting with the insults?

For somebody it could be appeal, for me it's manipulation and profanization; because instead of raising up the level of the public, they bring down the theme.
Schickaneder says: "That`s what people want - fantasy!"; however in the context of his words it seems that he actually means not "fantasy", but "cheapness" , "superficiality", "shallowness".
Unfortunately that`s what the majority of people wanted then and want now. Try to be deep, insightfull, try to show sth really prescious, sth really deserving - and you`ll be ridiculed and kicked away; and that - if you are noticed at all, of course....
omg! i know i'm not seeing what i think i'm seeing @ 7:09! he did NOT just come into wolfi's home and grab him like that! teach him some respect stanzi and slap the curl off a bitch!
After I first saw this, I read everything I could find about Mozart, including some of his letters. Many of them really were very earthy, and he did indeed like fart jokes. But he was also very devout.
Every "directors' cut" I've ever seen has made me more certain that the editors (chief editor: the director!) were right the first time. This is no exception.
