Correction: windows 7 takes about 7 and 3 quarters gigabite memory space. Windows 7 isn't bloatware, that's your oppinion if it is or not. And also netbook all have over 100 gigabites ssd memory space now.
I agree with many of your points, especially the hard drive and ram requirements. It's even worse for us 64-bit users. There's no reason an OS should require 20 gigs of HD space and 2 gigs of ram. I'd like to know what's taking up 1.5 gigs anyway.
good call th3w01fv2. i have XP micro and that like a Lincoln towncar but stripped out of all the bells and whistles. i like it. it is fast and isn't a mem hog.
I didnt think it was going to fix the bad taste from Vista. I work on an Apple anyway but I have XP on the windows partition and I think I will keep it that way.
Your Opinion is crap... Best operating systems made by microsoft is Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 Ultimate... Hands Down...
XP is great, But i can tell by what you say your not used to things that are big in size... Baahahahahaha!!!

It's great if you have a quad. But if you are a small business trying to save money and yet have to use microsoft, you're SOL.

As do I. I have never seen such ridiculous requirements. I would recommend using Ubuntu.

I've heard of it. I actually thought of getting it but don't know how much it is.

It's free as it is linux.

The only thing I worry about is will I be able to use Adobe products on it? I use their porgrams for student purposes.
Homer177 2 years ago
If you use WINE you will be able to install alot of windows programs they will work on linux. Adobe products are confirmed.

No operating system should require a gig of RAM!
If properly tweaked XP can run on less then 100mb of RAM. I for one plan to use XP Pro until 2014 when Microsoft stops releasing security updates.

Damn right. I love that browser. I have it installed on all the units at my workplace.

One of my favorite things about firefox is the ability to freely reconfigure almost everything about it :D
and being a programmer, that makes me particularly happy ;D
