Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand why not....after all, that's what it's there for...or is it?! After all, that's what I'm here for..."Why not?" you say! And say it you may, and why shouldn't you...after all, that's what you're here for...isn't it? Wasn't it? Hmmm? Marvelous...jumpers for goal posts.
Does anyone know the name of the piece of music that ran in the background during the Top 10 US/UK Movies/Videos Countdown? especially the one(s) played during the Barry Norman years!
@Bill4393 Thank God someone else has been wanting that music. The charts used to be the top 10 films in america, films in the uk, films in london and top ten videos. I started watching and think the chart music was from 1986-1988 that was the best - just upbeat, and perfect for the charts bit, before it got replaced by a more sedate, slower chart theme. If i get any info, i will drop you a mail.
Now that is a really witty clip you've got there; I mean.. to show his progression through the years as the individual exposures on a film-clip which is then run to make a short little 'story ' of his permutations..
Barry was the best, miss him doing the Film programme

As a teen I watched this late night show.and look at the film 75, 76 77 and so on with fondness
The secret of his appeal?
He loved films and saw many you can see that in his craggy eyes
His voice suited suited the format, sardonic, economical and authoritative
I stopped watching the progrem when the pipsqueak Jonathan Ross took over
Just where are these calibre people these days?

Nice to hear and see the theme this way! Sadly, Billy Taylor (who played the theme tune, passed away a few days ago, on Dec 28th, 2010)

Wow I loved the way this guy used to talk and deliver his opinion. Nobody can match him. Pity they dont make people like him anymore.

Sorry to be picky but it's Billy Taylor.
My favourite version is the Nina Simone one, but there are a lot of good covers.
I guess that's the sign of a great piece of music.
