I saw this great musician at Santa Barbara, with the Grateful Dead, Little Feat, and The Allman Bros. He was great, then he was actually wearing a 3 piece suit......
Took my wife to be to see Dave @ the Iron Horse in MA. Dave & company made it a GREAT evening. Someone at the mixer console kept changing the volume. Dave stopped the show and yelled, "QUIT FU%$*NG WITH THE SOUND!!"
I heard the original recording from back in the seventies the other night at a friends house. We all jumped up and started dancing like it was 1975. What a great dance number. This version, although very clean and musicianship great, is just a bit too slow for all of that.
I love artists who wear sweat pants and t-shirts on stage and just JAM! So much better than flashy outfits and choreography for me. I'm in it for the MUSIC!
danced at the Lexington Queen in Tokyo, 1980 Roppongi District, together with the whole entourage ..... such fun .... such fond memories....he is a great, fun guy, all class.
I met Dave a few years ago backstage after a gig he did in the bay area with Jim Capaldi. I asked him about the multi-colored vinyl on the Alone Together album. He explained it was supposed to represent a sunset. Amazing album, great musician. dh.
"At age 18, the Worchester England native teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood to form the legendary band Traffic. At 19, Mason penned the song "Feelin' Alright". This song has since become a rock and roll anthem, having been recorded by well over 48 artists, the best known version being Joe Cocker. The group's profound influence over rock music remains unquestioned even today."
That's my bud Johnne Sambataro on acoustic rhythm and back vocals, and he can smoke on lead as well. Johnne was Rick Roberts' replacement in Firefal for 8 years.
FANTASTIC. Thanks for the Video {:-)
