ive been living in pittsburgh my whole life so its kinda weird when i hear that our accents are funny or different lol... i think that we have the "standard american" accent...there are some words that we pronounce differently but you'll find slight variations in pronunciation wherever you go:)-
So I showed this to my girlfriend, who is from the midwest and has never been to pittsburgh. After watching she goes " I wanna laugh, but I can't understand aword their saying." What a jag off.
I live in Pittsburgh. Born & raised. I do have an accent, but only when I say "down". Like, I say "y'all" instead of "yins". But "n'at" is a big part of my vocabulary. Oh, & "water", "washer", and other "wa-" words.
I. LOVE. THIS. Whenever I'm feeling homesick for da 'Burgh, some Greg and Donny make it all better! And yep, we really do sahnd like dat. Except unlike Gina, we'd never call people jackasses. Everyone knows, it's JAGOFF
im from pittsburgh, and i honest to god didn't even know this was a parody at first! hahaha its really good though :) when the dad says "cuht it ahht" (cut it out) it makes me shudder, because thats how my parents sound when they get mad! its neat to watch see how your accent sounds! great video :D
I spent a week in Pittsburgh. Some reallllly blockheaded folks out there. I'd give it another try though. One thing though: they gotta give up this insistence on saying gyro with a hard 'G' and a long 'Y'.
i remember startin to work at monte cellos in cranberry a year ago any hearing everyones pixburgh eez, still to this day its hilarious, hey fez go dahn look for kirk n tell em we need some cheese n at
the ferndale sweatshirt was the best. I live in moxham!!
The funiest thing is the fact that I am the only chilean who lives in jtown. And when I go other places they laugh at me cuz I have an accent but is not the typical latino accent; off course not!! is da yinz plus the polka plus the latino plus everything else!!!
I myself im a melting pot only for living on the friendly city! Lol.
haha i was born and raised in da burgh and yinz dont even do the accent ur mixin a new york and irish and i dont even know what else. yeah we do replace "th" with D but its not every time we say "th" but the rest was pretty good. the girl did it the best
This is absolutely hilarious. You got that Western PA/Pittsburgh accent nailed. I am from Cleveland and can pick out a Western PA'er anytime. Great stuff
I've been living in N.J. near Philly since 1977 and still haven't lost my accent....I still get people asking me where I'm from. This video cracked me up - too bad you didn't imitate the Philly accent, though - that would have really been funny.
lmao this video kills me every time i watch it...it's funny cause i know people that talk just like that and i know if i'm not thinking about it i'll talk like that too ahahah
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh; our family moved away to the NYC area when I was 10, and I have no discernible trace of a Pittsburgh accent now, but I sure do remember what it sounded like. (Some family members kept theirs alive and well to this day.) This is one of the most entertaining, clever things I've seen on YouTube in a long time. Great work! Brilliant!
Exact opposite situation here. All of my great-grandparents were from Egypt and immigrated to Queens, their children, and their children were all born and grew up there. Then my parents moved to Pittsburgh when I was 10, and in a month, I actually found myself missing the language that my grandparents spoke that I once found ugly.
PLEASE PLEASE do a Part 2...I wonrked on Jwanstuuun fer tin yars...and beein from the odar side of Altuuna da thawt I tawked funny. Lets all go Dawn tawn to gat sawm Pernamis sammies, Remember its Pop, not Soda.
Very funny fellas. My wife and I laghed our faces off. My one year old daughter too (she loves Greg) i found you on my Roku player and I wanna see a movie in no less than two years. Please keep up the good work.
I'm from Eastern PA. A friend of mine grew up near Johnstown--Tanneryville. Even though I'm a "jackass", I would never make a cruel joke about the misfortune of people in the '77 flood, which pretty much wiped out Tanneryville, PA.
Dude i live in johnstown and i am loving this! This is too true i have met many people who talk like this but i guess its normal for me but still haha great!
Years ago before the flood 'n at, Ida come up air and kicked yunz in the asses for makin' fun of Johnstown n' at. Course that was years ago when the car shops was still open.
L O Fucking L! I'd really never heard about your guy's accents are hilarious. I get a kick out of "dan't". I wish someone would do one of these parodies on Michigan.
