This is from the Show of Hands Tour back in 1987 or so. it is obvious when you look at the graphics on the bass drums. There are symbols form the 3 previous albums as components of the bass drum graphics. You can also determine that by looking at their clothes and hair. Lastly, the drum solo here is called "The rythm method" a solo that Neil perfected over the years. A lot of the elements in this solo are still present in his current solo from R-30 and so on...
I love how he is just surrounded by drums and that he just owns for 3 minutes, just sittin there doing his thing. Awsome I have never heard a better drummer
@ nightkiller24 impossible sir the footage was clearly from their A Show Of Hands tour ask anyone they will tell you but i will garee on one thing the sol Peart plays is largely reminiscent to what he played in 1981 in exit stage left. The only difference is that he added a xylophone piece and that wonderful ending.
Also notice that Peart's solo comes at a much different time in the song than usual (much later) If I were a fan in the audience, my first thought would have been "oh no! they skipped the solo!" ;-)
I was lucky enough to see them play this up close back in about '94 Great show. Alex Lifeson is hilarious to watch up close. He totally plays to the crowd.
@jevanmanny Wrong. It starts on June 29th, 2010 and covers the entire Moving Pictures album from '81 I think. It's their biggest selling album to date anyway. Tom Sawyer, Limelight, Red Barchetta, all that. It starts in Albuquerque NM and "I'll be there and I know, I know I told you before, but you didn't hear us then, but you still question why. No! You didn't listen again!" Oh sorry, just kidding. I'm really giddy looking forward to this! My first Rush concert.
@jevanmanny if your talking bout tour from this year then no it was both all the older ones and un released ones i was blessed enoough to get to go to it
ATTENTION ALL RUSH FANS! If you ever see a rush tribute band called limelight , GO SEE THEM! its my friends band. They are considerably the best Rush tribute band Ever. Go to Google and type in rush by limelight and it should be the first link
@jevanmanny and DO NOT go see 2112. The drums are tuned like crap (loose and low, they sound aweful) The band frequently flubs and stops. They try to joke away thier incompetance but they aren't even worth seeing for free. I have seen plenty of bands that play a couple rush tunes that are far better than 2112.
Look in the tags. It says Dane Cook. WTF?
