I have one where 2 of the 4 batteries leaked near the top causing corrision on the internal switch parts and the 2 batteries to become stuck i removed the screw and pounded and pounded nothing came out what do i do?
I can't open the freaking bottom part to get the batteries. It's tightly shut, any tips on how to open it ? I tried my wrench, but it's teeth were to big.
Brilliant video. I had been getting frustrated by my maglite 2D's poor performance. After watching your video I gave it a clean, and its working like new. Cosmetically, its battered and bruised, but works brilliantly. These things are tough.

I would imagine that it would be possible to insert something on the top (light bulb side) of the tube to pound out the assembly through the bottom.
Disclaimer: If you choose to do so do it at own risk. There are hazards involved, including the chemicals inside the batteries.

What were u doing between 1:16 and 1:23? All I can see is your hand, some twisting and out popped the switch!
Mine couldn't seem to come out still.

An Allen wrench, I forgot what size -- maybe a 5/64".
