im nottrying to say mcilory has a hugely flawed swing just it is easier for him to hide them via his tempo such as his tendancy to take away a little steep causing him to get a little high at the top with his hands making it harder for him to drop club right in the"slot" and he does get a little to much bend in his spine coming down which is terrible for his back and posture as he gets older and will also cause that leak to the right we saw coming down the stretch at the desert classic this year
I think your right he maybe could have his hands a little more connected to his body on the backswing but high hands would make it easier (not Harder) for his hands to drop down into a good impact position secondly i see what you mean by the back i honestly think it looks worse than it is and is solely down him being young and not strong enough yet to get the huge distance without firing his hips hard, plus gym work will strenghen his back and posture and prevent injury.
The thing about golf is people only remember you for winning, especially winning the majors, cracking the top 20 at a young age is great, but if you don't win then you can't say that you're a good golfer. I'm not saying that I don't like him, but that's the truth about golf.

Great swing, very good player-could be great. Even more importantly for this level, his mental approach seems very strong, even at a young age. An old head on young shoulders. Hits it a long way and is a good putter too. His only weakness is not knowing the courses as well as the other seasoned players and lacking experience. He has it all. I follow him avidly!

im nottrying to say mcilory has a hugely flawed swing just it is easier for him to hide them via his tempo such as his tendancy to take away a little steep causing him to get a little high at the top with his hands making it harder for him to drop club right in the"slot" and he does get a little to much bend in his spine coming down which is terrible for his back and posture as he gets older and will also cause that leak to the right we saw coming down the stretch at the desert classic this year

I think your right he maybe could have his hands a little more connected to his body on the backswing but high hands would make it easier (not Harder) for his hands to drop down into a good impact position secondly i see what you mean by the back i honestly think it looks worse than it is and is solely down him being young and not strong enough yet to get the huge distance without firing his hips hard, plus gym work will strenghen his back and posture and prevent injury.

The thing about golf is people only remember you for winning, especially winning the majors, cracking the top 20 at a young age is great, but if you don't win then you can't say that you're a good golfer. I'm not saying that I don't like him, but that's the truth about golf.

Of course they say it about a lot of people, any person who becomes a professional golfer at the age of 18 has potential. Fact is, anyone who's anyone in the world of golf know that, all being well, Rory McIlroy will be up there with the best of them in 10 years time.

The statement "he'll be winning everything" is nothing but a speculative claim, much like the statement "he'll be on the fringe of top 10 for the rest of his career, with an occasional top 10 ranking." Based on the history of promising young golfers, the latter actually carries more weight.
Potential only means the possibility of being great, but until you accomplish greatness, it means nothing.
Maybe you should actually think before you talk, eh?

Tiger woods won his first major when he was 23 lol go fuck urself - McIllroy (only 20 years old) could have won the masters however he dropped quite a few shots carelessly but thats because he is young and hasn't fully matured mentally yet. Once he does (and its only a matter of time) he will dominate major golf lol

He came up to the driving range that I work at in Northern England back in February when all the heavy snow had fallen, and I had the priveledge of hitting balls in the bay next to him and having a chat, an awesome player, very modest, and a geniunely nice guy!

As an American, I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that he's come along. We need a foil to the constant droning on about Eldrick, and it's great to see a young player with talent AND maturity. I hope that he fully realizes his awesome potential and has a golf career for the ages to remember.

Great swing, very good player-could be great. Even more importantly for this level, his mental approach seems very strong, even at a young age. An old head on young shoulders. Hits it a long way and is a good putter too. His only weakness is not knowing the courses as well as the other seasoned players and lacking experience. He has it all. I follow him avidly!
