Marc Singer is an ACTION Sci-Fi Actor, there's a huge difference between passive and active Sci-Fi - Star Trek is passive, more talking then action, Star Wars is Active, back in 80s ending Star Wars Trilogy in Cinema, people wanted more of the same, at that time V landed in TV, for all these years he got roles which doesn't suit him at all, Beast Master c'mon, he didn't overact, as the resistance leader, he showed charisma, chemistry within resistance group in all episodes is just right. Agreed!
This is a bit harsh, yes, he didn't have the acting ability of a De Niro or Pacino, but he was given some terrible lines, and the director has to take some blame. When it came to the action scenes, I thought that he was excellent.
When this dude was in Beastmaster shape I bet he got more pussy in one week than this guy that made this video his hole life.Well it was the 80s so you know all the women Marc got had that huge bush down there. So I don't know if that was a good thing ROFL!!!!!
Not nice... some of my favorite Marc scenes are on here. He's a wonderful actor. You need to see his Taming of the Shrew performance... favorited on my page... we love ya Mr. Singer!!
This is the same guy that faced off against the visitor's supreme martial arts master... who was so fearful that everyone trembled in his presence... and beat him in about 10 secs.
So I agree with the other guy... he was simply that heroic, how could we possibly understand what that's like?
On a more serious note, as much as I adore the old V, the script was often full of extremely cheesy lines by today's standards.
But hey, Mike will always be one of my fav characters of all time.
WIth that butt, those hips and legs exposed in the tightest jeans imaginable I don't care about the acting. Marc Singer was a sex God of the eighties.
Very cheesy overacting. But I don't it's entirely Singer's fault. Take a look at that stiff piece of cardboard Clive Owen and tell me which is truely worse. Directors often compensate by trying too hard to get their actors to look natural when acting out a scene. Unfortunatly there's very few actors who can pull it off.
3:22 - 4:00 - that's the Carrington's House in Dynasty. I guess the lizards captured Krystal and Alexis... Anyway, the fight scenes are coordinated by a choregrapher, so he must follow the directions. As for the rest, it's more funny than just ridiculous. V became "Dynasty in outer space" from season 1, so I guess it's the type of acting you expect from a soap, even if it's a SF soap.
Yeah, he is stiff and overacts. But so do many action heroes, at least he was cool. There are few actors who where as physical in a fight scene as he was. Hope he shows up in the new V. Overacting and all.
In all fairness, the writing for TV movies any miniseries is less then fabulous and a lot of actors, fine film actors, have trouble making the cheesy lines they are given, sound good.
I mean I love, "V," but not because it reminds me of Shakespeare.
Also maybe his being so freakin' gorgeous is enough to forgive him a little stiffness, at times.
He does take a hit with much kind of a tremendous amount of drama though, doesn't he? lol
You're missing the point. His acting was so cheesy and melodramatic...it was fantastic! Like a kid in the park with his toy guns playing army lol...perfect.
I like Scott Bakula, but Marc Singer should've been the captain in Enterprise. The show still would've been bad, but it would've been a bit more fun.

My dad always used to reckon he posed in the mirror all the time.
He also acts as a stand-in for british tv presenter Andrew Castle.
