Hmm this Iron Dome is a realy cost effective way of destroying 20$ rockets :) I would like to see how it deals with 1000s of them! (Maybe this is the same bias that sold Patriot...)
@S300V but when 20$ rockets sadly has the potential to kill people, and damage property, even 100,000$ per missile worth it (remember that Iron Dome tracks the rocket and knows whether it's a potential threat or not, so it is economical).

Hmm this Iron Dome is a realy cost effective way of destroying 20$ rockets :) I would like to see how it deals with 1000s of them! (Maybe this is the same bias that sold Patriot...)

@S300V but when 20$ rockets sadly has the potential to kill people, and damage property, even 100,000$ per missile worth it (remember that Iron Dome tracks the rocket and knows whether it's a potential threat or not, so it is economical).

@S300V The actual cost is 40,000$. 2) I do admit that Iron Dome is not economic when you're talking about defending villages which are not dense (increasing the probability that a missile even within the borders of the village will not harm any property). But it should be extremely effective when defending cities, which are dense and every strike within it's bounds can kill and damage many buildings, that's why it was stationed in Ashkelon Sadly, The only solution for the villages is offense.

@shacharkl That is just the cost of the missile, the system operating cost still comes on this. This system is only useful for Israel and only near Gaza. One would need lot of these systems to prevent even limited MLRS attacks, for obviusly far unequal price compared to the attacker's investment.
