  • Look for his lieder recordings, (on Parlophone, I believe) you'll be well rewarded.

  • Great job and great singer.

  • What a beautiful voice!!

  • I love it. You must listen to Franz Völker on 78 rpm Gramophon 67142 A singing from Wagner's Walkyre Siegmund's monolog "Ein Schwert verhiess mir der Vater..." and Siegmund's aria of Act I "Winterstürme wischen den Wonnemond" with members of Berlin State-Opera Orchestra conducted by Johannes Schüler (1937): each piece on each side.

  • @78Maniac I might have those on CD.

  • I didn't know this Tenore. He is V Bravo.

    voller und klarer Stimme

  • Very nice!! Excellent voice, absolutely 100% suiting to the German and this specific wonderful repertoire.

  • Lovely lyric sound very freely produced. This is so much fun to hear and just right for spring. Thank you.

  • love the pic of him munching a cigar- how manly! Probably didn't inhale, though, as it isn't an especially good habit for singers to indulge in!

  • My favorite Wagnerian tenor, an attractive and versatile lyric-dramatic voice who could anything from Mozart to Verdi and of course Wagner. He didn't have the powerhouse Melchior sound but for earlier Wagner he was unsurpassed. I've never heard this before, thanks for posting.

  • One of the great jungehelden tenors. Extremely musical and the voice is quite beautiful with a nice ring in the upper register.

  • Nicely sung. He begins fairly straightforward. He does connect with the piece in the repeat. There he shows what he can do.
