  • Excelente versión, pero ese guitarrista es un TARADO!!!!!!

  • It's a bit faster and more rocky than the original, moving with the times I suppose...

  • god jul

  • god jul

  • when will they put linda ronstadt in ..queen of rock and roll long before madonna etc...

  • I dont get it...Linda is a classic, what about Pat Benitar? The ladies dont get any Rock & Roll respect!

  • There are a few I missed but like I said, the hall is getting less appealling every year. The only reason Im knocking Metallica is because there are some artists who have waited a helluva lot longer who deserve it.Yes,disco does deserve its own category-it aint what we call rock n roll!Blue Oyster Cult werent the greatest singles band, but their music genius should have them next in line.

  • I hear ya,, People confused the meaning of the Rock & Roll hall... Its not so much about Rock & Roll. It more about the artist of Rock and Roll era, which includes many different types of music which all stem from the essence of early Rock & blues influences. I think as the years go by..We will see more deverse artist from the Rock & Roll Era with many different types of music. Rock of the 50's and 60's were somewhat similar, but you will find 70's & 80's branch out all over the place.

  • Hello? uh are all of you out there all there?

I checked the list of nominees for the 2009 Hall of fame and Ms Summer is not among them. The nominees are becoming more and more less relavent and less appealling but whats new? They are Metallica The Stooges Little Anthony and the Imperials Bobby Womack Run DMC

  • Your right, I was thinking 2008. But Donna was on the list of the top 50, considered for 2009.. I guess you can call it pre- Nomination?...LOL Thanks

  • You can vote for the most deserving but overlooked artists in the Rock and Roll HoF at the rateitall website.

The top 10 vote-getters at this point as voted by true rock fans are:

1 Rush 2 Deep Purple 3 Moody Blues 4 Yes 5 Alice Cooper 6 Chicago 7 Donovan 8 Neil Diamond 9 Jethro Tull 10 Genesis

  • she shouldnt have been inducted.

  • this is disco. what the fuck has everyone gone mad.

  • If Madonna, Blondie, Tina are Rock & Roll females artist, then this songs must be Heavy Metal in comparison. The entire CD was Donna long time quest into her Rock and Roll roots from the 60's. The record company insisted in adding the 120 BPM to make a danceable brand of Rock. Take the beats out and you have you typical "Pat Benitar" style rock song. I don't get it, its plain old rock & roll? Is it the artist name that is affecting your ears? Which classic females do you consider more Rock?

  • After her 5 years with Disco/pop success in the 70's, Donna spent 25 years after that trying to undo that strong image that put her in the box. She is a lot more versatile and really a true rocker at heart. She was discovered doing the Rock musical Hair. I appreciate your response, but your post is proof that many people still think of her past. I delete your response by mistake, Is there anyway you can send it back? If not, thks anyway... Link; TOP 100 Females of ROCK & ROLL in my description..

  • thats a helluva a stigma the disco era. the same thing happened to the beegee's. although they were well established in the industry before disco. i believe it hit john melloncamp very early on aka johnny couger. that being said she may be a true rocker as you say but 25 yrs down the road she does'nt fit the rocker bill. you seem like a true fan of hers and thats cool but not the in the rockhall. i mentioned grace slick, janis joplin, ann and nancy wilson.

  • And Janet Jackson sounds like an out of breath 7 year old.

  • Great voice, great range, looks better than ever!

  • I like Debbie too, But we all have our favorites. Donna & Debbie shared a common style during 79-80. But Vocally, I would have to say Donna is the ultimate star. I believe I have an old video interview with Debbie herself confirming this... Its all music, enjoy!

  • Actually Donna DID the pave the way for ALL of the female entertainers that followed her. In the 1970's the women who were successful BEFORE Donna came along (Linda Rhonstadt, Olivia Newton-John, Diana Ross, and others never broke the "glass ceiling" in record sales, they all seemed to know their place. Donna however broke the ceiling, and them some. In 1979 when Bad Girls, the single AND album hit #1 on the charts, she was the fisrt female in 25 years to do that.

  • Donna is good, but i would not go far to say that she pave the for Madonna, Janet and beyonce. They are a little more talented then Donna and Donna Summers had a great German producer behind her hits.

  • Donna Summer was the 1st modern day female pop star as we know them today. She broke down a lot of business barriers that her predecessor didn't have to confront. Besides many of today's pop stars cant even sing. Acts like Brittney, Madonna, Janet ect are all good but, they have to rely on image, gimmicks and controversy to capture attention. Their stage shows are all about dancers and lip-synching. Pure vocal talent like Donna's almost seems to be fading in pop music.

  • I tend to agree with you i think there were MANY singers that paved the way not just one singer though. So Donna can not take all the credit, i mean look at Tina Turner, Houston, Franklin, ect. There were many that paved the way.

  • I totally agree. However, musically I think Donna's music has had a lot of influence on direction of pop music today. Her techno/Funk sound is heard in a lot of today's R&B & Dance/Pop mainstream music. Many of today's artist were influence by Whitney, Madonna & Janet who were all influence by Donna herself. Also, In her hey day the term "Pop Music" was rarely used. Her music crossed-over into so many different genres that the category of "Pop music" became more popularized by the mid 80's.

  • Very well phrased and great point! Donna deserves a lot of credit and songs like "I Feel Love" and "Love To Love You, Baby" paved the way for Madonna/Kylie Minogue dance/pop stuff and for the more sexy Madonna/Janet Jackson tracks. Go Donna!

  • What Planet Are You From??? It's Donna Summer, not Donna Summers...

  • LOL x

  • Janet is more talented than Donna Summer? Are you kidding? lol. Take a look at some of Donna's old stuff...her voice is amazing.

  • I know Donna's old stuff and it's called disco, ok. Janet still make albums and sell out concerts since the early 80's and Donna does what? Listen, Donna has a nice voice but so did alot of others from that era.

  • Those ladies are not nearly as talented as Donna, she was truly groundbreaking, and what's funny is that Madonna and Janet have said that Donna was a major influence on them.

  • oh and dontcha just love the way she manhandles that microphone? :)

  • i'm just sittin here in disbelief that madonna made into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame before Donna Summer. it's just not right. i've always supported madonna but let's face it, if it weren't for donna summer there never would have been a madonna

  • I concur!!

  • Kool, Klassic Disco (Pop, dance wotever) Just klass pure Klass!
