  • I'm afraid this mod will make your Aspire One run HOTTER, not cooler. The fan forces air through the heat-sink fins. For this to happen, the space under the heat-sink must be closed off: it forms sort of a duct. With that part of the case removed, the air just exits randomly. Also, the inlet air enters through the vent in the rear of the case, and flows over the circuit-board. With the area under the fan removed, it's sucked in from directly below, so the rest of the computer will run hot.

  • How are the temps. How much hot is the netbook and how much is in the room.

  • Could not have been any clearer, never would have done it without the video.

  • Where you bought the heatsink?

  • @domitilus Heatsink looks like just a generic green one off an old 486 CPU. Rob some 386, 486, or old Pentium 1's and you'll get them in spades. The thin ones like that are on the old 386 and 486's. I have some just like it lying about.

  • did i just read that replaced the cpu with a better one in a netbook? How on earth did you do that?

  • nicely done, but i'll bet it vacuums like nobody's business...

  • can u show a vid on how to disassemble an acer 5534??

  • @valsotto27 i need to know to do thise too

  • @itztone23 I already did it, from athlon single core to turion dual core hahahaha!! envy me! hahahaha!!
