  • Someone name a DOW game that dosent have bad lip-sync?

  • @Thenoobiestmaniacs 1st, show me a game from the time that did it better. 2nd, DoW2.

  • @Thenoobiestmaniacs dow 2 ret?

  • @mattsta127 dont have the game

  • I feel manlier simply by listening this speech

  • who know the name of the song?

  • @shirondarkdragon The X-Files - Fight the Future - 24 - Crater Hug

  • @BigDickCheney thx :3

  • Wait a min BDC, never got to ask but whats the music for this?

  • Exactly how large is a titan?

  • @BenyMoreGamer Weeeell, you can see them from space, but it depends on what make and model of titan we are talking about, there are many different kinds. Usually every titan needs its own army of people to even operate it

  • @BenyMoreGamer for the Dominatus here, about 55.5m(166ft)

  • @anime262 But, isn't it an Imperator? An Imperator would be at least twice that much wouldn't it?

  • I laugh when people say all ig infantry suck cuz they don't look at kasrikans it says elite commado and look at them fight they are beast you gotta respect the ig for giving their lifes for the imperium

  • Check out Encyclopedia Dramatica's page on Warhammer 40k :3

  • lol they are not weak.. the Imperial Guardsmen is the backbone of the Imperium they can unleash supreme firepower so dont underestimate them

  • @archon094 No matter how deadly, or powerful you are, it's always better to offer one hand, and arm the other, show kindness with you're bad ass weapons, but punish those who goes over the line...

  • You have to feel bad for them they go through hell come back up go through again in a never ending cycle with virtually no upgrades that as powerful as space marines but what they do have is a never ending supply of pride honor and loyalty for their emporer and the massive baneblade and imperator war titan because the space marines cant have something they didnt make in the first place lol IMPERIAL GUARD FOR THE WIN IG FTW

  • Eldar version is not canon, elf-fags.

  • BEST Guard commanders in DOW series:

    General Sturnn

    Aleksandr

    Colonel Brom

un-named Commissar(the one with Sturnn) anyone know his name?

    WORST DOW Guard Commanders:

    Stubbs

    Commissar with Stubbs

Actually, Stubbs, was OK, but nothing more.

  • You forgot Sergeant Merrick, although he isn't that important and he's only a sergeant.

  • He's from Dawn of War game series? or Canon?

  • He commands the 85th Vendoland Regiment in DOW2.

  • oh, and then do you know the Commissar's name who accompanies Sturnn? I never knew it...

  • @yuyuyu25 Merrick had a lot of Badass in him as well. Individually your average IG infantryman can't amount to a whole lot compared to an individual space marine but the IG are just men, not bio-engineered supersoldiers. That just makes what Merrick says and does so much more significant. When everything seems lost in the final mission, against a whole tyranid swarm he just cocks his gun and says "Well then, I guess we better take as many of these damn bugs with us as possible."

  • @yuyuyu25 What good is sturnn of brom if you havent got the good'ol sergeants like merrick to do their dirty work?

  • @GeneralSturnn agreed, Sturnn kicks so much ass he makes Chuck Norris look like a pussy.

  • @GeneralSturnn I actually liked Sturnn's commissar more than Alexander and Brom :)

"Show these aliens the meaning of valour!"

  • @britboyal is was just best, not in order from anything, it was just pointing out the best Guard Commanders, I agree though, Sturnn's Commissar was Epic.

  • @britboyal

"Indeed sister's..stand strong, show these humans the meaning of dignity"

    - Farseet Taldeer

  • @ValkyrieCaine *Farseer Taldeer*

  • @GeneralSturnn You forgot Boreal Indrick the man responsible for the destruction of the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th companies (you work this out becuase 1,2,3,4th companies are in dawn of war 2 at least that should be correct

  • @ValkyrieCaine No I didn't forget him, as he is not a Guard, he's a Marine.

  • @GeneralSturnn Oh right sorry missed the guard part though Boreale is still a terrible commander. I mean WAS a terrible commaner...was....not anymore

  • @ValkyrieCaine Thule was an idiot in Kronus, but he grew up alot in DOWII(forgot name of system) I'd actually have called him an equal with an Eldar on Kronus mostly because he had superiority issues when dealing with other Imperials.

  • @GeneralSturnn I think the system in DOWII was the Aerelia sector cant remember.

  • @GeneralSturnn I thought Brom was a PDF commander wasnt he?

  • @CommissarCain34 yes he was, but he still commanded Guardsmen, true PDF guardsmen but PDF can also be levied and replaced if PDF prove to be the best.

  • @GeneralSturnn captain boreal was the worst

  • @christopherlng753 Who is that?

  • @GeneralSturnn well apparently Brom turned to heresy, according to the book and was later shot in the head in the fight

  • @ryan1258 still he was better then old Stubby.

  • @ryan1258 The 3 BR books are NOT canon.

  • @Rykanable what?

  • @ryan1258 The Blood Ravens books are not canon.

  • @Rykanable i don't understand what canon is all about...

  • @ryan1258 There are at least two different canons in Warhammer - the board game continuity, and the video game continuity, the latter of which follows a chapter made specifically for the game called The Blood Ravens. When people tell you the Blood Ravens are not canon, they refer to the former.

  • @HalfTangible Actually, that's not at all what I meant. I just meant that the books by Goto (warp take him) are not considered canon. The Blood Ravens as a whole however are canon immigrants.

  • @Rykanable Oh. That's fine.

Though the fact the canon is contradiction incarnate kinda ruins THAT point too =/

  • @GeneralSturnn How about Baldeale? Or Carron and the METAL BAWKSES?!?!?!

  • @SinDawg030 their not Guard Characters though.

  • @GeneralSturnn . . . bollocks

  • @SinDawg030 w/e, I do all my research unlike you.

  • @GeneralSturnn Wait, about best Guard commanders there, what about the tactical genious URSARKAR CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED?

  • @Tarik360 Never saw him in the game, so he never made the DAWN OF WAR series list of best Guard Commanders.

  • @GeneralSturnn Yeah well unlike Aleksander Stubbs actually won his campaign.

  • @GeneralSturnn yeah shame gaunt's ghosts aren't in DOW

  • @borecek999 I also hate how Yarrick isn't there either, and neither is Macharius, but at least Yarrick got some attention in the Dawn of Steel mod.

so, Commissar Yarrick ojins the ranks of best DoW Guard Commander's.

  • Comment removed

  • @GeneralSturnn

You forgot Ciaphas Cain, and Yarrick, and CCREEEEEEEEED!!

    Shameful, man. Shameful.

  • @IAmTheStig320 No, I didn't forget them, they were not in Dawn of War.

    Shameful, man. Shameful.

It was called Commander is DOW series for a reason dude, lol.

  • @GeneralSturnn

Ah, fair enough. I didn't read the comment all the way. Sorry.

  • @IAmTheStig320 And I actually added Yarrick(check a few comments below you) if you played the Dawn of Steel mod, Yarrick got added.

  • @GeneralSturnn I also liked general Castor in Retribution.

  • @BlackTemplar43 I never played Retribution, but I heard quotes of his, liked them, I wish Macharius or Creed would come into the DoW games.

  • @GeneralSturnn Indeed. Especially Creed would be awesome IMO, but I doubt so awesome and powerful characters would be allowed to be in a game.

  • @BlackTemplar43 Actually, they'd be pretty weak, all Guardsmen/characters in DoW are, Creed would only be invulnerable in campaign(like Sturnn) infact, I'm actually thinking Sturnn was DoW's Creed.

Cares for his men, doesn't like to have everyone shot for speaking out of line, knows when to have men shot.

  • @GeneralSturnn Yeah, but I thought about their abilities. Creed's Tactical Genious has the potential to be gamebreaking, For the honor of Cadia not so much. But he would be a formiddable opponent, at least.

  • @BlackTemplar43 what would it do? remember, this is Dawn of War, not TableTop(DoW has limitations, TableTop don't)

  • @GeneralSturnn For example summon a load of tanks at the cost of resources?

  • @BlackTemplar43 like how many? remember, population limits, and if they did that I'd probably say 4 Leman Russ tanks for 2.8k power and requisition(1400 between each).

  • @GeneralSturnn In CoH a similar power spawns 2 tanks to the game ata reduced cost. It could devastating if defending, for example.

  • @BlackTemplar43 it also has a recharge time right?

  • @GeneralSturnn Yeah but if you manage to hold the line a little further, it can be decisive.

I don't even know why we are arguing after all :P

  • @BlackTemplar43 THAT 3 foot tall shrub there? thats actually a warhound titan

This tactical genius has been provided by the brilliance of Lord Castellian Ursarkar e. Creed

  • Gorgutz thus far has managed to escape death in every game. He's quite persistent.

Tempest is the book I believe it is mentioned in that Sturnn survived.

  • An Antagonist (Especially an Ork) are dificult to make in the minds of more 'civilized' races.

Plus an Ork character is FUN to look at... until they become berserk.

  • Man, Sturnn could put balls on Sisters of Battle with speeches like that. One of the best Warhammer speeches.

As for who 'won' it's probable the Eldar won the campaign since the Imperial Guard is hunting them in Dark Crusade for their actions on Lorn V, but Sturnn is alive in the follow up novel.

  • Really? Sturnn is alive?

I really hope so. Strunn is just too badass to die.

  • What the novel name. Since the book store in my place run out of the dam book so fast. I want to order it myself. What the name of the book.

  • @manwiththemachinegun Nope, there is a book santioned by the GW that also takes place on Lorn V and in this book, the IG are repairing the Titan and the Eldar who entered the system find Taldeer's body and rescue her. So the IG won the Winter Assault.

  • @manwiththemachinegun The imperial guard would have to win or sturnn would have been dead but taldeer could have escpaed

  • i'm so sorry the imperium is falling appart... we need the emperor to be reborned :( or humanity will die... once humanity conquerd manny manny plannets... now its a fight to survive ... while advanced alien tech wipes out miliion of humans... i think if the emperor coul see waths going on in the universe with his people... i think he would cry :(

  • i like how sturnn says WAAGH. he would make a good ork XD

  • actually the Eldar prevail over the guard thats why shes in dark crusade and none of the other characters are! but still the guard are the best to play in these games cause they over power the other races with infantry and armour!

  • Then how do explain Gorgutz?

  • When the Eldar win, Gorgutz chases Lord Crull across Lorn V and smashes his Chaos Space Marines, and claims his head. He then leaves Lorn V via a primitive shuttle full of his Boyz, and then crashes on a small, remote planet owned by the Tau...Kronus.

  • yeah, but the guy below me said NONE of the other characters survived

  • Well he's wrong. Gorgutz survives, Taldeer survives, and i'm not sure about Sturnn (most likely survives), but Crull definately dies because when you play as Chaos in DC and beat the Orks, it says that you claim Lord Crull's head back from Gorgutz as an offer for Khorne. The Eldar are supposed to win Winter Assault due to WA being based on one of the Dawn of War series of books.

  • i know, thats why i commented

  • Wait, I thought the Tau had come to Kronus and it was Imperial? Or the Tau had a small colony that had been Imperial...Confused...=(

  • The colony was originally Imperial, but the Tau took it a few years before Dark Crusade. The IG came to reclaim it, but then the Blood Ravens realized that they might uncover artifacts linked to their history (Which wouldn't have mattered if the Tau ruled, they don't give two craps about chapter history)

  • The Tau took Kronus from the Imperium and were beginning to colonize it when all the other races appeared. So in a way both the Tau and the Imperium controlled Kronus at one point.

  • What about Gorgutz?

  • sturnn>stubbz+thath other fag from dark crusade

  • I think General Sturnn should be in the other DoW campaigns. He's probably the biggest badass of the Imperial Guard than Dark Crusade and Soulstorm put together.

  • Wait, did Taldeer really die in the last vid? O_o

  • marvellous!!

  • hoy crap i just realized that its an imperator class titan! the biggest of them all! the thing is litterally massive, look it up on google you should eventually find a chart compairing sizes

  • i can t understand.the space marines and the imperial guards are both humans?

  • The IG are of course humans. The Ogryns are just humans who have adapted to high gravity environments. Space Marines are initially humans but undergo genetic engineering to become super humans, more or less. Look it up for more detailed info.

  • yes, marines are SUPER HUMAN!! o.0

  • FOR THE IMPERIUM OF MAN!

  • wow the imperiam says they folo the emperor, but the empereor wanted to rid religon yet the imperiam is denying that and making the emperor a religon in the end the emperor's dream was also crushed by the imperiam itself

  • The emperor didn't like religion because most of it was actually worship of chaos gods.

  • Chaos cuased the imperium to become what it is now, so infact chaos biult the very religose imperium it fights

  • Indeed, if the emperor returns he'll be pissed.

  • Like Lenin and Communism in Russia. :3

  • I'd imagine he'd have many an Inquisitor and Cardinal executed for barbarity and cruelty akin to the very Chaos they hate. Some might wonder if elements within the Inquisition move to insure that the Emperor is not reborn, for they would lose all their power over the ignorant masses under the enlightening light of the him. That would make for an epic Dark Heresy Campaign.

  • You make a point. The Emperor would have hated the inqusition.

I think that in the idea ending for 40k, the Necrons are defeated entirely, The Eye of Terror cleansed, the Emperor revived, and the Tau and the Imperium reaching a total armistice. In addition, the last Orks would be hunted down, and the Hive Mind would be destroyed once and for all.

indeed, the Emperor would like the Tau.

  • Agreed, althou idealy the Eldar would be also allied with the Tau and in turn the Imperium to. Idealy

  • I wonder. Many have this idea of the Emperor as a wise benevolent man. Let it not be forgotten he approved of xenocide, exterminating entire sentient species during the Great Crusade without batting an eyelash. Or who began the foundation for the Inquisition. He can be cold and practical

Don't dismiss the Inquisition's accomplishments because they work in the shadows. As a man who straddled the thin line between necessity & compassion himself, I think the Emperor might understand...

  • However, the Tau would have perfectly fit his vision of a good race. Not religious, but logical. In addition, he was not involved in the founding of the inquisition.

Either way, that ending would still be the best one.

  • A theory on the origins of the Inquisition does hint at the Emperor selecting "inquisitive" men and women to form an elite group to hunt out the secret terrors that threaten the Imperium (as a direct result of the Heresy). This may be tied to Capt. Garro & others from the HH novels, but nothing's confirmed either way.

But what convinces you the Tau are an ideal race from the Emperor's perspective?

  • The inquisition, as I recall, was founded AFTER the Horus Heresy. So therefore, he could not have taken part in its origins.

As for your 2nd question, here are several things the Tau do and don't do.

*The Tau do not firebomb their own citizens.

*The Tau don't kill aliens simply for being aliens

*The Tau allow subjegated races to retain parts of their culture

*The Tau don't have deranged soviet-style officers running around and executing their own soldiers.

  • actually the inquisition could well of been already in the making before the Horus heresy as garro of the death guard could well of been the first member of it.

  • Yeah, what horswilla says. The Inquisiton in its modern form may have gradually developed after the heresy, but its foundings may be pre-heresy as the HH novels and I think one of the sourcebooks imply. Either way, there's no concrete evidence of just when the Inquisition began.

So, on the second point, how do you reconcile the fact the Emperor oversaw xenocide during the Great Crusade? Frankly, I don't think the Emperor would approve of any race that intends to reign over humanity.

  • I never said that this ending I proposed was likely. A happy ending, but unlikely

However, the inquisition has no incentive to revive the Emperor. It would only result in them losing power, especially if the Star Child is absorbed back into him.

Also, Wouldn't the Emperor understand that chaos, nids, and orks are by far the greater threat than tau and eldar? (who can be reasoned with)

  • This it ture, the Emperor would make peace with the Eldar and Tau and proberly ally with them to take down the nids and orks Chaos i think they would consider a personal battle that they must fight alone

  • You'd be surprised at just how varied the Inquisition is. There are multiple factions that actively seek ways to restore him, from trying to figure out ways to bring souls back from the Warp to more heretical means involving Chaos to reincarnate the Emperor.

As to the last question, maybe. I get the feeling he was practical if nothing else. If the rumor that Eldrad tried to warn him of the Heresy is true and the Emperor ignored him, it does show he's at least cautious when it comes to Eldar.

  • But those sects have to be kept secret from the main bodies of the Inquisition, lest the efforts be destroyed. It is a few good apples in a rotton orchard. This is also consistant, as these more powerful bodies have a lot to lose if the Emperor is revived.

If the Emperor is revived, I am also assuming that the Star Child, the Emperor's compassion, will be absorbed back into him. This would create a brief period of mercy and tolerance, during which alliances could be forged with the Tau

  • The age of rebirth perhaps?

  • Perhaps. What I think would be a cool endgame for the Nids (assuming the triple alliance of Imperium, Tau, and Eldar is pulled off) is that a fleet of Eldar Wraithships support a bunch of modified Imperial and Tau ships by effectively bringing a chunk of the warp with it. Then, in a dramatic space battle, the hive mind itself is destroyed, in part through the space combat, and boarding parties. :)

  • Interesting, I've heard it said before that the Starchild may be the compassion the Emperor forced out of himself when he slew Horus.

  • Exactly. The sudden flow of compassion back into the Emperor would create a small window that is just big enough for the humans to stop fighting the Tau and Eldar. As the Tau already have nonhostile relations with some of the craftworlds, this could lead to the creation of a triple alliance.

With the forces of good united, Chaos, nids, necrons, orks and so forth really have something to fear.

  • And this would tie in to the Eldar prophecy of the Rhana Dandra, which is the Final Battle where all will take a side, either Order or Chaos.

Now that's a nice connection... Then there's talk of Ynnead being the Star Child as well... heh, I uploaded a vid about the Emperor and now I realize just how much more of a story there is behind him.

  • Lol, that sunds somthing like World War one and two.

  • more like karl marx

  • who is the emperor?

  • Any citizen of the Imperium knows the Holy Emperor. You must be some sort of spy... contact the inquisitors!

  • Wahhhhhhhhhhhhh....... You dont know who the emperor is? Hes the leader of the imperium and the human race. Althought the imperium worships him, something he didn't ever want to happen.

  • Whether it be the cowardly and treacherous Eldar or the naive and diminutive Tau, all are Xenos scum to be crushed underfoot by the might of the Imperium. Weave your little schemes, Eldar. Preach on, Tau. None of it will matter in the end when you are looking at the end of our Holy Bolters and the galaxy is cleansed of your alien foulness.

Oh yes, you'll get yours as well Chaos.

    And you Tyranids.

No we did not forget you, Orks.

Be quiet, Necrons! We'll get to you too!

    ...FOR THE EMPEROR!

  • And you expect us all to sit back and let you continue these threats, Gue'la? Pah! The Greater Good cannot be entrusted to bloodthirsty hawks like you.

Speaking of bloodthirsty hawks, I take it you are ignorant of those amoral Dark Eldar?

  • The imperium devese not my faith. They have turned from the light of the emperor.

Only the imperiums destruction can humanity and the emperor be reborn, stronger under the pax imperialis!

  • Pathetic little worms you are nothing but toys for the chaos gods!

  • There's one called "The Grandfather" in "generation kill" that remainds me to Sturm.

  • GENERAL STURNN IS MADE OF GAR

  • My faith in the Emperor has been restored! I play Imperial Guard and win, my men are NOT expendable, as each man is valuable to victory! I shall not waste a single man no! not even entire squads to achieve victory! unless it is absloutely nesscessary, victory is nothing compared to the brave men of the Imperial Guard! I am a General of the Guard and it is of great honor to lead the men into the jaws of Hell and back!

I only play Guard, so yeah...

  • Guard own

  • FOR THE EMPEROR~!

  • talk on, little pet of the craftworlds will

  • That, doesn't make sense, but then you Eldar have never made sense.

  • your little mind is not able to understand the paths of the runes. But you are still a pawn of them, although you will never know

  • I am a servent of The Emperor Eldar, anything you say pales in comparison to his words, I tolerate you because his will s to crush all hostile empires, but the galaxy was damned because of your own Civil war ages past.

  • this words, mon keigh, are the proof that you are a puppet. Your pupeteer has changed, although you don't see it

  • Typical selfish Eldar, always thinking of yourselves while we fight for survival, your arrogance has cost us more than you can imagine, If you truly were the only defense against Chaos, than Chaos would never have existed, but we pay for your lack of vision, you have foresight yet you are nearsighted, face it Eldar, without us, you all would be doomed.

  • I don't care what it costs you. A thousand human lifes aren't worth an eldars, ape. And of course we are not the only defense against chaos. We have, just like the space marines, you as our bandog. You are a good weapon, sharp, strong and without mind or will

  • If you were truly wise, oh farseeing Eldar, you would not be so foolish as to dictate Eldar policy to the Gue'la. I would think that you'd try not to tell the humans what your true intentions are, in order to use them as 'pawns...' What an insult to the Greater Good!

  • He will forget it tomorrow, I will take care of that. in contrary to your transient race we can use our souls and minds for more than just for imagine empty phrases!

  • Like imagining that you can force the galaxy to buckle at your whim when you are merely a remnant of the glories you once held? Admit it, Eldar, the Dark Eldar, Chaos, Necrons, and Orks cannot be destroyed by your meager forces alone.

  • maybe it was my mistake that I thought you children would be able to understand my words. Of course they can not be destroyed through our forces - for that we have our puppets, called generals, called etherals, called brother captains

  • Hmn, I admit. I overestimated your arrogance. Fine, say what you will. Once these 'puppets' turn on you, your meager armies will be no more.

  • at least not there where you will search us

  • Face it Alien, your Civil War ages past damned us all, and you cover it up with manipulation because it shames you, your race is dying Alien, and if it wasn't for those damned Tyranids and Chaos incursions, we would have wiped both you and the Tau off the galactic map, I trust Tau to be more upfront than you, but when they start taking worlds from us is when they betrayed us.

  • @GeneralSturnn As a Space Marine, I salute you. You know the strength and the bravery of an individual soldier. As a result, I'm sure that you've won far more victories, and greater ones than others in the Guard.

May the Golden Throne smile on you when you face His enemies in battle.

  • @NicholasGeschke well said brother well said

  • Sturnn has put up a pretty impressive speech. An old general.

  • What is a guardsman? He is a human like any of us, give a flash light and a can opener and forced to fight 12ft slavering monstrosities worse than we could ever imagine. That is why i always say that a guardsman is braver than a space marine!

  • dont forget thouse 70ft tanks that could run shit over you

  • The Guardsmen ARE weak compared to the brutal Orks, the deathless Necrons, and the soul rending horror of Chaos, but that's what makes them so compelling. They're ordinary men who must rely on courage.

Of course it never hurts to have tanks the size of elephants too.

  • More like small whales.

  • @dunnono00 Or a thousand... Ofcourse Creed would be the only one to understand that luxury :P

  • ive said this before and ill say it agian there not weak!!!!!

  • the only wey to win with the imperial is by out numbering them no way else, even havin karskins would make it hard....

  • you just don't know how to use the Guardsmen.

you don't need overwhelming numbers to win a battle, its all about strategy.

you can have guards attacking while using vehicles as support.

  • watever say wat you want there weak to me just look at there damage ratio...

  • this man is a god

  • it's amazing how this music seems to have been made for this cutscene. an excellent choice, yet again!

how do you manage to find the proper bgm nearly every time? quite frankly, i'm rather astonished.

  • I agree, he has musics from everywhere.

  • Imperial Guard, FTW!!! May the Emperor protect you always!

  • dude, this vid is honoring the Imperial Guardsmen, not the Ultramarines

  • Yes, but you can't help the fact that both the Ultramarines and the 412th Cadian rule!!!!!!

  • yeah, but this vid shows that even out numbered and when all seems lost, the Imperial Guardsmen will stand their ground no matter what comes their way

  • True.
