  • @76dezzy Thank you very much! It is indeed a lovely part of the world.

  • I'm just wondering if you have seen the other Druid stones in Staunton as there is a sacraficial stone just on the end of the main road called the frog or toads mouth plus numerous other stones around

  • @Mrxl600 No, I was not aware of those and thanks for the info. I intend to expand on this theme for my Wyenot web site next spring, and will try to look into these. I have a friend who knows the Forest well and will probably know where they are but if he doesn't, maybe you could email me some location info.

    Thanks again and best regards,

    Alan

  • Nice to see people takeing an interest in our beutiful forest but the legend of the Staunton long stone is that it is a Druid turned to stone and if you prick it with a pin on midsommers night at exactly twelve then the stone will bleed then pick it's self out the ground an go down the to river to wash the blood off but well done mate thanks a forester

  • Thank you Jamie. The video (two parts on You Tube) was shot over quite a wide area of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean, which is a nice area. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.
