If your not comfortable filming yourself, perhaps you could "explore" with a friend and let them operate the cam. Then you can just be yourself and talk to your friend(the cam)

lol i was just at the public park with a flipcam and i got the zombie stare en masse. was a lil strange i felt like i needed a shotgun and go first person shooter lol. i go out quite a bit with my flip and it gets better the more you do it. have no fear. in fact while i still notice people like the park... i dont even care anymore hahaha it gets better kiddo :) thumbs up!
