Not the best boxer of all time, but the greatest hot streak in history.

I think both of these guys don't always get the credit they are due for their exploits in the ring due to the antics outside of it (Tyson getting wailed on moreso than Morrison). That being said, they were both fast, powerful and accurate in their primes (I give a nod to Mike on this). Their weaknesses were very different but glaring however. Tommy had an iffy chin, mediocore defense and stamina issues, whereas Mike suffered primarily from a certain mental/emotional fragility.

Tyson's defense was impenetrable. He would just juke someone out until he just lunged putting every bit of weight behind his punches and throw 3 punches before the person could even register it. Tyson requires reaction time faster than the human brain can possibly perform. It's a trait unique to him, and it's why, in the best two years of his prime, even Rocky Marciano would have been beaten by him. Not the best boxer of all time, but the greatest hot streak in history.

tommy morrison did pass his hiv test and is still fighting to this day but for some reason they're not allowed to show it on t.v.

@ryanreaper2008 He didn't pass, he tried to use a medical result that didn't have his hiv results in states that either had no boxing commission. I believe when they cornered him to re-test he tested hiv positive and then tired to pass off his confusing out-of state medical test, as best I remember it.

I think both of these guys don't always get the credit they are due for their exploits in the ring due to the antics outside of it (Tyson getting wailed on moreso than Morrison). That being said, they were both fast, powerful and accurate in their primes (I give a nod to Mike on this). Their weaknesses were very different but glaring however. Tommy had an iffy chin, mediocore defense and stamina issues, whereas Mike suffered primarily from a certain mental/emotional fragility.

what a bunch of classless shit, comparing mike tyson to tommy morrison. morrison padded his career with has-beens and nobodies, i remember this because i lived in his home town when he was big, good fighters were wanting a piece of his ass for years and his handlers wouldn't take the fights, they wanted to pad his record to get a title fight and hope he got lucky. soon as he fought good fighters he was done.

@tomitstube Tyson and Morrison share a lot of the same opponents and Morrsion stopped them earlier in most cases. Both superb Punchers and could end any fight with one Punch. Pre-Prison I think Morrison would be stopped in three rounds, But post Prison Mike........Morrison stops him. Tyson was Mentally weak but had Raw Power, Speed, Head Movement and a Solid Chin, While Morrison had Great Heart, Raw Power, Above Average Hand Speedm Solid Combination Puncher but had Terrible Stamina.
