I put the battery in my stock. I have a crane stock, and the battery shaped for the stock. and You have to hold the button at the top. Releasing the button turns off the PEQ.

if your NOT using the pressure switch and just use the button on the top do you have to hold that down continually or do you just press it and the laser / light stays on.

Wait , after watching the video again , you can NOT actually fit a battery in this. You can try to fit a stick/nun chuck type battery is the RIS , instead of in the PEQ the M4 came with.

Very nice review, it was very helpful!

The reason the RS one is $3,000+ is because it's an IR beam and flood which illuminates your target so that only people with night vision optics can see it. There is no visible beam or function of any kind on the real AN/PEQ2a.

Yes the laser can go 200ft in daylight, so yes if a target is standing about 160 ft away, you can use the PEQ to aim. The LED is great for indoors/CQB, and mediocre in outdoors, I use another flashlight I mounted on the right side of the RAS most of the time, as the LED beam is sort of dim, but its perfectly bright enough for indoor/cqb use.

You need to remember that if you zero the laser at e.g.50ft..you will need to aim a bit higher to shoot at a target that is farer thatn 50ft.

hey i just wanted to say thanks for that review. i have a real AR15 (not airsoft) and i wanted a peq 2 but found out that infared lasers are basically banned and have been looking for a civilian one. this seems to be the closest one i could find but wasn't sure how good it is. your review helps alot. just one question. is the laser powerful or is it "wimpy". if you could let me know i'd appreciate it. thanks.

I have never used a real laser before, therefore I cant really tell whats really powerful for a laser or not,But I can tell you that the laser is visible to around 200ft in daylight, and in nightime, its visible to about 500-600 ft or maybe further. Hope that helps.
