I have a night time glycolic acid over night perfecting peel and also a vitamin C serum thats to be applied twice daily. At night should I apply the over night perfecting peel first or the vitamin C serum. They both have about the same consistency .
may you do a video on which products to apply first, telling us exactly what to apply on our face accordingly. for example, the order of when to apply a gel, liquid, cream, etc base product. i understand that creams are thick therefore they should be applied last. but how about acne spot treatments? and would you put a gel base product on first or a liquid/watery base product?
do you think it would be more beneficial to use a moisturizer without spf and then a a suncreen separate. or try to find a moisturizer that contains a spf?
i wear acne gel, then moisturizer and THEn primer to put foundation after..should i put the moisturizer first??? in what order should i do it??? and also im using the clinique moisturizer..is that okay to put under my eyes and eye lids?
What is a eye cream you would recommend? I am 33 yrs old.I have heard a lot of great things about repair ware by Clinique. Also, what are your thoughts on a Lancome product called Genifique?
@mzrey Since I have my own skincare line that my patients use, I prefer to not critique other skincare lines as I think it would pose a conflict of interest. Thanks for understanding.
Totally agree with tatianathaller ! By the way, which do I apply first? My creme based glycolic acid treatment or my creme based sunscreen+moisturizer during the day?
@malekeh: When I discuss order of application, I'm referring to the order of application of products that are meant to be left on your skin (i.e., not cleanser and toner). Cleanser is always used first and then rinsed off; then toner is wiped on with a cotton pad to dissolve residual cleanser, dirt, oil and debris. Then products meant to be left on (moisturizer, acne treatments, glycolics, etc.) are applied. So in your case, next your moisturizer is applied. (Continued in next msg...)
@malekeh: (...started in previous msg) Regarding relative weights of multiple products, it's a matter of judgment based on the feel of the product, it's ingredients (water- vs oil-based) and function of the product. Generally, water based and alcohol based products, and gels are lightest.
@tatianathaller: Thank you so much for the kind words! As a note, there's also additional information for each episode at the DermTV website. You might find it interesting.
If you want to apply facial milk and lotion do I have to wait for the lotion to dry up?
