I am a HUGE, and very forgiving, Stranglers fan, but these lyrics are the MOST CHILDISH, and worse than that, UNPOETICAL thing they have ever done. This makes Bring on the Nubiles look like high art. What makes Nubiles different is the fact that it was a fun, age appropriate expression at the time. Just because the stranglers are getting up there does not mean they have to lose their ability to say something in a unique manner. That being said, the playing is still perfect.

After listening to the last few albums..I like the line up with Baz singing. He is a good singer and plays guitar well. It is not Stranglers of old, but more straight forward rock. Not as exciting as the old stuff, but certainly better than many of the current alt-type bands. But I think that was a different time and the angst really came thru and a lot of people connected with that.

I've been a massive fan of the Stranglers since the 70's and have kept up with them all this time. It's good to see Hugh is still thrashing the old Telecaster, but I must say he looks different with the shaved head!! Seriously though, the reason I've backed this band for the past 30 odd years is shown in this clip. And they are still getting better!

Nice 1 to the boys in black. They have the knack of longevity without destroying thier individual sound. The Stranglers still sound like the Stranglers....They havent conformed to any sound but thier own....and im glad of that....punk will never die as long as these guys are around.
