  • Although the film Footloose gives me a toothache, Kenny Loggins is one of my favorite vocalists. I don't think anyone who is sane would dispute his vocal ability.

  • That's actually Nathan East, a great bass player that has played with everyone from Clapton, Phil Collins, Etc.

  • yeah I enjoy Phil Collins but Kenny Loggins is too he did Dangerzone for Topgun

  • LOL That does look suspiciously like Richard Pryor!

  • i really love this song. i love kenny loggins. also others of his songs such as danny's song and return to pooh corner...

  • that bass player looks like richard pryor.

  • dajesz dajesz Kenny!!:D

  • look what hes wearing hahahahahahahah

  • go kenny loggins

  • Classic! Very talented gentleman....

  • i bet that concert would have been better if there had been some dancing during this song...i mean, it is a dance song..

  • "this concert" was Live Aid.. his was one set amongst many for 16 hours.

I watched most of it on BBC1 at the time - and have the DVD.. which this was taken from (recognise the B-roll)

  • The black dude playin the bass with the white jacket on at 0:28 look like Kanye West a little bit

  • ha! i love this song, i did a gymnastics routeen to it... amazing!

  • This dude is responsible for some of the best sounds from the 80's. I mean absolutely anybody HAS to feel like a party animal when listening to this, or like a kick-ass fighter pilot when listening to "Danger Zone" from the Top Gun OST...

  • i was listening to this in a flash game, i didnt know what it was, it took me ages to get the lyrics right so i could search it...

  • woo

  • kenny loggins is greatest artist and good dansing songs.

  • kenny loggins knew how to rock and you all know it. yacht rock

  • oh my gosh that is john cleese! ha. im loving kennys matching pants and shirt..haha

  • Tris Imboden on drums---- INCREDIBLE!!

  • He was at the peak of his success during this time, but rock and Kenny Loggins never seem to go well together.

  • I think it more of an "anthem of the 80's" tune and less of a true rock n roll classic.

Still, it WAS a great song to dance to!!

  • I never said it was a rock n roll classic, I was commenting on how Loggins seemed so out of element when he did these kinds of songs.

  • I didn't mean to imply that you said that, exactly.

I was sort of just agreeing with you....

  • fantastic kenny loggins a legend 1984.

  • no matter what you say - it's one of the best party dancefloor "get the ass up" ever. I know - i'm the DJ :)

  • es excelente lo maximo

  • Can't help but laugh at the clothes we wore in the 80's lol, to think at the time we thought clothes like that looked cool?? Not cool now though hahaha ;) xxx

  • Yeah, some of the clothes - and hairstyles - were pretty funny!

It's the nature of fashion though... I remember that back in the '80s, people used to look at '60s and '70s fashions (like bell bottoms and psychadelic colors in the '60s and massive collars, platform shoes, plaids and earth tones in the '70s) and say how ridiculous they were.

Lol, I guarantee that 20 years from now we'll look back and say exactly the same things about today's fashions! ;)

  • exactly, think of some of these emo guys when they look back 20 years from now like man i used to wear little girls pants, and i though that shit was cool?! heh

  • who's that guy at the end of the song?...is that bob geldof?

  • ha nvm...i looked it up...it's billy connolly

  • its john cleese from Monty python

  • I LOVE this song!!!!! everytime it come on the radio I just dance 2 it. My school just did a production and our Ren Wuz HOT but not as hot as kevin bacon wuz in Footloose the movie.

  • wat year is this?

  • 2050

  • i belive thats the year of nvm im guessing 1985

  • Lol @2050 xD

  • Ha :)

  • you can't help but get up and dance to this song.

  • this song is basad in film of footloose of the kevin becon.

  • great idea would love 1 in Canada too. but who would play in it? U2, dire straits would be cool, eric clapton...

  • Thats what we need, another BIG concert like this one to some spirits here in america.

  • yes!!! men they're rockin' our world hahahha!!!

  • footloose omg the play WAS AWSOME!!!!!!! i was doin the hand jive... lolz

  • My God, has a band EVER looked more "Eighties" than this lot? Is that Rico Tubbs from Miami Vice on bass? And, what the hell is Kenny wearing? It looks like some sort of shoulder-pad-enhanced pyjama ensemble

  • That bassline's bitchin'

  • fantastic

  • wow where the fuck was this played, that crowds mega

  • It was in Philadelphia I think. Wherever the first Live Aid was anyway.

  • Yup, it was. and IIRC, they went back to Elton John (in Wembley) I think..

  • omg i luv this song!!

  • me!!

    i love it so much!

  • I love so much Footloose!!!

  • i thought the performance was a little weak but i liked it and love this song

  • Yes, Kenny was interviewd by MTV when he went he got off stage, said the guitars were not tuned right, he was rushed on to the stage, in true rock n' roll fashion.

If you listen to it, the lead guitar is muted or is tuned very low, so it sounds like a synthesizer only song, along with the base.

  • I love this song!!!!!

  • my school is doing this song as a lip sync. scary D:

  • my school is doing this song as a lip sync. scary D:

  • danceeee!!!

  • Arvaldiv i think your a D.I.C.K HEAD.

  • ya gotta to love these 80's moments!!!

  • this shouldnt be on here if people wanna see this clip they should buy the live aid dvd it puts the money from sales towards africa dont yyou care about poor people in africa these artists did live aid for a good cause and for free i doubt the would wanna see it on youtube

  • i high five'd him at playland in vancouver :O

  • Chevy Chase, Kenny Loggins - 80's legends!! It can't get any better than that...great, great times!

  • Great 80's song and movie

  • kenny loggins can do songs in different music genres, a love song, folk song and this one, a dance song.. a real talented man. try listen to 'danny's song' and 'for the first time' and you will see a different loggins..

  • best rock and roll song ever!!!!

  • yeah footloose WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Live Aid 1985.

  • Enfin l'original et non une fausse réplique!!!

  • yeah mate

  • kicks ass !!

  • which live aid is this? in which year???

  • The Only Live Aid the other two were Live 8 and live earth and dis was in ?1984?

  • Live Aid in 1985 was not only a UK event - the US hosted a live event that same day. Some great acts played that night in the US.

  • I Neva said it was a UK only event

  • This was the very first Live Aid concert which was held in in Philadelphia back in 1985. It's Amazing how many big artists were there & that I was also a big fan of. Something I can't say about the Live 8 concerts unfortunately.

RE: The Only Live Aid the other two were Live 8 and live earth and dis was in ?1984?

  • Live Aid was one concert held simultaneously in Wembley and Philly. You had the operation cross over the pond between sets (once the satellite link opened)
