First episode of the second season...where House is treating a death row inmate and Cameron wants him to help a cancer patient she'd seen in the clinic.
House has an infarction in his quadriceps muscle which basically means that the area which is affected results in the death of cells and living tissue.. ergo the daily oral intake of the prescription medication vicodin to relieve the pain.
there was a three day blockage, or infarction, in his leg. they removed whatever was blocking it. But it caused everything that was blocked to flow again, which was mostly dead muscle cells. This causes IMMENSE pain and agony, so much so that he had to be put into a coma. This was when Stacy made the decision to cut away the area where the muscle had died, however there was always the risk that he would still experience pain. Which he ovbously does, so he takes excessive amounts of vicodin.
there is a scene at the end of I think "Acceptance" (can't remember for sure) but he tries to walk without his cane at home. It's a beautiful scene. . .it'd be great here but I love your vid, it's favorited, rated 5 stars and I've seen it too many times to count. I hope to see another House vid soon ^_^

Hugh Laurie did originally sign a contract for 5 seasons. I'm not so sure there will be 6 because Hugh has said how much he struggles with being away from his family. Unless he gets offered a great deal to stay, I'm guessing season 5 will be the end.
I think that five seasons would be enough - is good to stop when you're on the top. So we not remember House as the show that was good to a beginning, but than turned to a piece of crap just because the makers and FOX wanted more money in their pockets. I mean - we can buy boxes and watch the show and rewatch it, over and over again. When they've run out of good stories, then also the show should end...
actually recently he signed for the 8th season and he became the executive producer of it and i heard but i am not sure that his family moved in with him or they are still based in London but they come more often
a fifth season has been confirmed and some of the rumors for story arcs is a house and cuddy arc, house/wilson road trip, private investigator arc, and more chase/cameron scenes. It's set to premiere September 2nd 2008. Can't wait ^_^

Die Serie zieht sich so wie jede andere in eine Ewigkeit.
Ich würde die Serie gleich nach 30 oder 50 Folgen in einem dramatischen Ende beenden, dann wäre es eine gute Serie geworden.

Everything in is way to be is exactly the same as Holmes!. Even Wilson behaves sometimes like Dr.Watson.
Holmes and House, House and Holmes. They solve problems, play an instruments, are addicted to drugs, are lonely men with clever minds...
Even the first patient in the 1st season is named Adler, as the only woman that Holmes had ever "loved".
Nevertheless, House is an awesome character!

I believe most Doctors (good doctors) have lost someone in their families when they were young. Guilt, overachieving, whatever it is, is carried into adulthood. As a kid, he was probably trying to solve or fix other people's problems. How do I know? I still have my first microscope. Good point in your question and shows your tremendous insight.
